Half Moon Bay RV Park Introduce
If you're searching for "RV parks near me" along the picturesque California coast, specifically in Half Moon Bay, Half Moon Bay RV Park, located at 460 Wavecrest Rd, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019, USA, is an option to consider. They can be reached by phone at (650) 726-7275 or mobile at +1 650-726-7275.
Customer reviews regarding Half Moon Bay RV Park present a stark contrast in experiences, particularly concerning the management. One reviewer recounts a profoundly negative encounter, describing their experience with their three children as "really awful." They had called ahead to book, explicitly mentioning they were traveling in a converted school bus ("schoolie"), which was seemingly accepted during the booking process. However, they were abruptly awakened by the manager banging on their door, demanding they leave within 15 minutes. When they inquired about extending their stay for another night, their request was denied outright. Adding to the distress, when the reviewer's son attempted to shower within the allotted 15 minutes, the manager allegedly confronted him, threatening an additional night's charge if they did not leave immediately. The reviewer and their children reported feeling humiliated and unwelcome, as they were stared at by the manager and another individual in a golf cart until they departed. This experience led the reviewer to strongly recommend supporting a different, more welcoming establishment in the area.
In contrast to this severely negative account, another reviewer shares a positive experience. They highlight the "great people and a great location" as key positives. They note that while cellular reception can be spotty in certain areas of the park, it was fine in their two spaces. For those relying on satellite internet, such as Starlink, the reviewer points out that the absence of trees or other obstructions ensures good reception. A significant advantage mentioned is that utilities, including electricity, are included in the rent. Given the park's proximity to the beach, the reviewer suggests that air conditioning might not be frequently needed. The location is also lauded for its proximity to numerous trails, appealing to those who enjoy outdoor activities. Furthermore, the reviewer appreciated the generously sized sites, a feature they found rare in the area, and the fact that the entire park is perfectly level.
This positive reviewer also commented on the friendly demeanor of the other campers, even though many tended to be reserved. Despite the park not having an age restriction, they observed that all the RVs appeared well-maintained, and the setups were generally impressive, possibly attributed to the park's higher-end pricing (though not considered "obscene"). The reviewer could not speak highly enough of the employees, stating that they made their short stay "extremely pleasant" and expressed a desire to return for a longer visit in the future.
Considering these divergent experiences, Half Moon Bay RV Park appears to offer some significant advantages, including a great location near the beach and trails, generously sized and level sites, and the inclusion of utilities in the rent. For those who had positive interactions with the staff, the experience seems to have been very pleasant. However, the extremely negative account detailing abrupt and seemingly unwarranted eviction, coupled with a lack of empathy towards a family with children, raises serious concerns about the consistency and quality of the management's treatment of all guests. This suggests a potential inconsistency in the customer service provided, where some guests feel welcomed and valued, while others experience the opposite.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Half Moon Bay, the positive aspects of location, site size, and included utilities might be attractive. The proximity to the beach and trails caters to outdoor enthusiasts, and the level sites are a practical benefit for setting up RVs. The positive comments about other employees and the general upkeep of the park also suggest that there are commendable aspects to the facility. However, the severe negative experience reported by another guest cannot be dismissed lightly. Potential visitors should be aware of the possibility of encountering unprofessional and unkind treatment from at least one member of the management team.
Given the conflicting feedback, it would be advisable for those considering Half Moon Bay RV Park to seek more recent reviews to ascertain if the management issues reported are isolated incidents or indicative of a broader pattern. Contacting the park directly to inquire about their policies regarding different types of RVs (such as converted school buses), their procedures for check-in and check-out, and their approach to customer service might also provide valuable insights. It could also be beneficial to inquire about any specific amenities offered, such as laundry facilities, Wi-Fi access, or communal areas, which were not detailed in the provided reviews.
In conclusion, Half Moon Bay RV Park offers a potentially appealing location with spacious sites and included utilities, and some guests have reported positive experiences with the staff. However, the deeply concerning account of rude and unwelcoming treatment by the management towards a family should give prospective visitors pause. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Half Moon Bay will need to weigh the positive attributes against the risk of encountering negative management interactions based on the available, albeit contrasting, feedback.

Half Moon Bay RV Park Reviews
Was a really awful experience for me and my 3 children. We called ahead and booked, notified her we were in a converted schoolie. No issues she booked us in. We woke up to her banging at the door telling us we had 15 minutes to leave. I asked if we could book another night she said no way.My son went to have a shower in that 15 minute time frame, she came and told him he had to leave or she was charging us another night. Her and someone else stared at us in a golf cart until we pulled out. Was humiliating and just not nice for me and my babies to experience. It takes so much effort to be rude, and little effort to be kind. Treating us as though we were unwelcome was just so uncomfortable. We called ahead to pelican point, where the lady was so kind and welcomed us with open arms and smiles. She loved our schoolie and was so kind to my kids ot made up for the awful lady at the half moon bay rv park . Please support the kindness and pelican bay and forget the half moon bay rv.Pelican bay is not only more private sites, but they have very kind staff and a beautiful view of the ocean 😍
Apr 23, 2025 · Danielle leeGreat people and a great location. Cellular reception is spotty in a few areas, but in my two spaces it was fine. There are no trees or other obstacles to block reception if you have starlink. Utilities including electric are included in the rent which is great - not that you'll be using AC all that much if at all, how's the location is really close to the beach. There are lots of trails nearby. Sites are generously sized which is rare in this area, and the whole park is perfectly level. The other campers were all friendly even if many do keep to themselves. Despite not having an age restriction , all the RVs appeared well-kept and people's setups all looked great (perhaps owing to price being on the higher end - but not obscene). Can't say enough nice things about the employees, they really made my short stay extremely pleasant. Perhaps I'll come back here one day for a longer stay.
Apr 18, 2025 · R. BoltonNice RV park in a beautiful location has a pub beside it which was just OK fairly basic food. My biggest issue with this resort was the amount of cats running around made for a very unpleasant stay for my dog. All of the staff drive around with cans of cat food in the back of their golf carts. It may be a cat culture here, but they should at least let you know. Big-time full-time resident Campground. Seemed quite communal didn’t really have any use for outsiders like us. Bathrooms were just OK paint falling off walls, giving the appearance of being dirty, even if it was clean.
Apr 10, 2024 · Mike WulffNice park. Mostly quiet. Just occasional dogs barking but there were only 2. Owners would just put them outside and leave them. Other than that management is good. Nice people. It’s clean. Power goes out frequently and water rarely. Be prepared to dry camp. Generators only allowed from I believe 8am-10pm. So again, be prepared to run fridge on 12v and LP. You can receive packages but not mail. There is a passcode protected mail room. I like it because it’s available 24/7. Don’t have to wait for office to open. There’s no general store or restaurant available at the property but town is literally about 1-1/2 miles away. Grocery stores, coffee shops, gas stations etc. And there is also a pub/restaurant at the east end of the block. You could walk from park entrance to front door would be maybe 3 minutes. Likely less. Overall good place. But very expensive. Hope this helps.
Feb 09, 2025 · Boom DaddyGreat RV park the staff is very friendly and the lots are pretty spacious.. it is a bit pricey but the surrounding area are beautiful. Very nice place to keep an RV the weather is always cool and great for sleeping no AC required all the lots come with electricity included.
