Phoenix RV Park & Storage Introduce
Are you searching for "RV parks near me" in the Salem, Oregon area? Phoenix RV Park & Storage, located at 4130 Silverton Rd NE, Salem, OR 97305, with phone numbers (503) 581-2497 and +1 503-581-2497, offers RV parking and storage solutions in the heart of the Willamette Valley. To provide local users with a detailed and objective introduction, we've compiled information based on publicly available customer reviews to give you a comprehensive understanding of what to expect at this facility.
Based on the reviews, the environment of Phoenix RV Park & Storage appears to have both positive and negative aspects. One reviewer who stayed in May 2024 initially found the park to be well-kept and clean in areas away from the western property line. Another reviewer described the park's aesthetic as "pretty" and "well manicured." However, a significant concern raised by the first reviewer was the placement of certain RV sites, specifically noting that space 4 was situated directly in front of the neighboring Safeway store's trash dumpster and loading dock. This resulted in intolerable traffic noise from trucks and other vehicles. Additionally, this reviewer reported observing concerning activity near the dumpsters, including individuals who appeared to be consuming illegal drugs and transient people congregating to eat and smoke, within close proximity to their RV.
The second reviewer, who sought a long-term stay, also noted the park's visual appeal upon arrival but highlighted some environmental limitations. They mentioned that while the park was "pretty," it felt more like a "pretty parking lot." A significant point of contention was the strict policy regarding the small strips of grass at each site, where walking or allowing pets was reportedly discouraged, leading to admonishing emails. The designated dog areas were described as small, covered in wood chips, and seemed to make their dogs nervous. This necessitated leaving the park for pet relief, especially concerning given reported local dog virus concerns at the time of their stay.
In terms of services and features, the information from the reviews offers a mixed perspective. The first reviewer's negative experience with site assignment and the subsequent refusal to relocate them to one of the reportedly 14 vacant sites raises concerns about the park's management responsiveness and customer service, particularly during a holiday weekend when the office was closed. The discrepancy between the initial reservation and the assigned site, along with the handling of the refund request, also suggests potential issues with communication and policy adherence. This reviewer did note, however, that the rest of the park, away from the problematic western side, appeared well-kept and clean.
The second reviewer provided some additional insights into the park's features. They mentioned that the laundry room was "stellar," indicating a well-maintained and functional amenity. However, they described the water pressure as "mediocre," which could be a consideration for long-term RV stays. They also pointed out that while their site was a back-in, they barely fit their trailer and truck, and the parking assistance they received was not entirely helpful, with disagreements about leveling and site boundaries. The space next to their trailer was essentially a parking spot, leaving minimal room for movement. They also observed that while some pull-through spaces were supposedly for temporary guests, long-term residents also occupied them.
A notable feature mentioned by the second reviewer was the presence of security that drives around the park at night, which they found reassuring, especially given that they heard gunshots during their 30-day stay. The park's backing up against a Safeway store was also mentioned as a potential issue for sites along that perimeter due to overnight truck traffic noise.
Regarding promotional information, neither review explicitly mentions any current promotions or special offers at Phoenix RV Park & Storage. Therefore, it is advisable for interested local users to directly contact the park management via the provided phone numbers to inquire about current rates, availability, long-term stay discounts, storage options, and any other promotional deals that might be available. It would also be prudent to ask specific questions based on the concerns raised in the reviews, such as site availability away from the western boundary, policies regarding pets and green spaces, and the park's approach to addressing noise and security issues.
In conclusion, Phoenix RV Park & Storage in Salem, Oregon, presents a mixed picture based on recent customer reviews. While some areas of the park appear well-maintained and the laundry facility is noted as excellent, significant concerns have been raised regarding site assignments, noise levels on certain sites due to proximity to a neighboring business, restrictions on pet usage of green spaces, and perceived inconsistencies in management communication and customer service. The presence of security patrols is a positive aspect. For local users seeking "RV parks near me" in Salem, it is strongly recommended to contact Phoenix RV Park & Storage directly to discuss your specific needs, inquire about site availability away from the problematic areas, clarify their policies, and assess whether the park's current environment, services, and features align with your expectations for a comfortable and enjoyable RV stay. Visiting the park in person before making a commitment might also be beneficial to get a firsthand impression of the facilities and the overall atmosphere.

Phoenix RV Park & Storage Reviews
I stayed at the Phoenix RV Park in Salem Oregon from 5/24/24 to 5/29/24. I originally reserved and paid a deposit for space 28, for 30 days. When I arrived I paid up to 5/31/24. The manager then assigned me space 4. She said she wasn’t part of the original conversation and she refused to honor my reservation. I accepted space 4. Once I was set up I realized space 4 was in front of the neighboring trash dumpster and the loading dock for the Safeway store. The traffic noise of the trucks and other vehicles was intolerable. The next day, I saw a man between the fence and the dumpsters who looked like he was consuming illegal drugs. About an hour later there were three male transient people congregating at the dumpster eating and smoking. This was literally less than 8-10’ from our back window. The RV office was closed due to Memorial Day weekend so I could not address the matter with management. On 05/27/24, I met with the same manager and told her about the intolerable conditions and asked to change to a more quiet site. On that day I counted 14 vacant sites including #28. The manager told me all the sites were reserved and she could not relocate us. I found this questionable, because she didn’t even look at the computer records. I told her that if she couldn’t do anything then I move to a different RV facility. She said “I understand and that’s fine.” On the morning of 5/29/24, met the same manager again and asked her for a refund for the 29, 30 and 31. She said she would “have to ask corporate about that.” She then said I wouldn’t have to pay for June, but she then said I wouldn’t get the last three days back. I then reminded her that she just told me she would ask corporate send me a refund. Frankly I don’t believe she was being forthright with me about the reservation and the refund. Due to the intolerable noise and transient activity along the west side of this property I would not recommend any of these sites. If I would have been given the site I originally reserved, then this might be a more favorable review, because the rest of the park is well kept and clean.
May 30, 2024 · Dennis KIt has taken me awhile to write this review but it is an odd one. My husband and I chose this place from its stellar reviews and the wonderful images online. We were looking for something long term, and when I called we lucked out and they had a space. Now let's get into the details.I explained the size of our trailer and truck, they said we would fit. We got to the park and we were pleasantly surprised in the beginning because it was pretty, a pretty parking lot but pretty. Our site was back in, and we barely fit. They "oversaw" our parking, kept telling us we could move over (if we moved over more our slide out would have been in their bushes). The man who was overseeing our parking also insisted that I was not leveling our trailer properly and that their cement slabs were perfectly even, ours was not. They didn't want us to back up closer to the fence so there was room for movement, but other trailers were. The space next to our trailer consisted of a parking space, which with our trailer and our truck, we had barely room to walk in between the two, so no space. Then there was the grass, oh the grass. Each sight has strip of grass, which they do NOT want you to walk on, or your dogs to walk on, or anything. Now, I refer you back our truck barely fit in the space, so of course we had to walk on the grass to get into the truck, and we receive admonishing emails for it. Any open grass was also not for dogs. They had mini dog spaces at the end of the park, covered in wood chips, our dogs seemed oddly nervous to go in there, and due to the dog virus going around this time, we had to drive our dogs out of the park to potty them. There were a few gunshots while were there for the 30 days, we heard them, however, they do have security that drives around the park at night so that was nice. They are backed up against a Safeway, and if you have those spaces they reverberate all night as the trucks come in. They have other pull through spaces supposedly for temporary and one night guests, but there were long term guests there as well.Ultimately, this park is stellar if you want a pretty , well manicured park, that you do not want to meet your neighbors, have an outside environment and you have small dogs. If you want a neighborhood feel, with space for your dogs, and space for you, I would steer clear.Laundry room was stellar. Water pressure was mediocre.
Jan 24, 2024 · Elisha MadisonWe were so thankful to find Phoenix RV!The staff were incredibly kind & helpful. Couldn’t be better. The facility was VERY clean and quiet.Right in the middle of Salem which makes it easy to access, but no nice walking or nature nearby. But we’ll definitely be back on our travels.
Mar 04, 2024 · Andy RentonSuch a nice surprise. We booked 2 nites but extended our stay. Staff takes great care of its guests and grounds. We are from PA /Fla. Clean bathrooms, groomed sites, nice dog parks, well maintained. Definitely stay again when we are in the area. Do not let the location fool you, We felt safe and totally relaxed in this hidden gem.
Jul 25, 2023 · Peggy StueberOne of the cleanest and most well maintained RV parks we have stopped at. We were just passing through and luckily got a spot. Dogs enjoyed the little dog park and the grassy areas. The spots were spacious and neat, pleasant and spacious. Not sure why some have picnic tables (that would have been nice) but not all seemed to have them.
