Starlite Mobile Village Introduce
For local users searching for "RV parks near me," it's important to understand that online platforms may sometimes include listings for mobile home parks, offering a different type of long-term residential opportunity. While RV parks typically cater to recreational vehicles for temporary stays, mobile home parks provide a community setting for manufactured homes. This introduction focuses on Starlite Mobile Village, located in Salem, Oregon, providing a detailed overview based on the overwhelmingly negative feedback from customer reviews.
Location in Salem, Oregon
Starlite Mobile Village is situated at 4882 Lancaster Dr NE in Salem, Oregon 97305, USA. Salem is the capital city of Oregon, located in the heart of the Willamette Valley. Lancaster Drive NE is a significant thoroughfare in the northeast part of Salem, suggesting that the mobile home park is located in a relatively accessible area with proximity to commercial establishments and other amenities. However, the positive aspects of the location are overshadowed by the serious concerns raised in the resident reviews.
Severe Concerns Regarding Management and Rule Enforcement
The customer reviews for Starlite Mobile Village paint a deeply concerning picture of the park's management and overall living conditions. Multiple issues are raised, indicating a significant level of dissatisfaction among residents. One lengthy and detailed review expresses extreme negativity towards the current management, specifically mentioning an individual named Steve as having "ruined this Park." The reviewer contrasts the current situation with previous "wonderful" managers who kept the park clean.
A central complaint is the apparent lack of rule enforcement and the perception of special treatment for some residents. The reviewer notes a neighbor with an "old trashy RV" parked in front of their house, despite others being told that RVs are not allowed. This inconsistency suggests a lack of uniform application of park rules, leading to feelings of unfairness among residents.
The issue of unfixed stray cats is also mentioned, indicating a potential problem with animal control within the park. More alarmingly, there are reports of aggressive dogs, including one that bit a neighbor's dog severely, requiring 42 stitches, with the aggressive dog still residing in the park. This raises serious safety concerns for residents and their pets.
The failure to enforce quiet hours is another significant complaint, with a neighbor's dog barking for "multiple hours on end" daily. The management's alleged response of "dogs are dogs and bark" is seen as dismissive and unhelpful, further contributing to resident dissatisfaction. The fact that residents have had to involve the police "multiple times just to get something Fixed" underscores a severe breakdown in the park's internal conflict resolution and management effectiveness.
Neglect of Maintenance and Amenities
The reviews also highlight significant issues with the maintenance and upkeep of Starlite Mobile Village. One resident states that the park "lacks any sort of Qualified maintenance" and that rent is raised frequently ("every other year" according to one review, "every year as much as possible" according to another) "while never repairing anything." This suggests a pattern of increasing costs for residents without a corresponding improvement in the quality of the park's infrastructure and amenities.
Specific examples of neglected maintenance include the park's sheds, which management is reportedly required to keep in good condition but are described as "rotting and many years past due." This indicates a failure to adhere to basic maintenance responsibilities, potentially affecting the safety and usability of these structures.
A significant amenity, the pool, is reported to be shut down for the current and previous year, with residents allegedly told it will not be repaired due to the cost. The reviewer points out the apparent contradiction of the park having funds to add new homes (which they are struggling to fill) but not to maintain existing amenities for current residents. The lack of rent compensation for the unusable pool further adds to the sense of unfair treatment.
Safety and Security Concerns
Beyond the issue of aggressive dogs, the detailed review mentions a neighbor who is described as a "drug addict that yells at all hours," with the police being called to their residence "twice a month minimum." This paints a picture of a community with significant safety and security concerns that are seemingly not being adequately addressed by the management.
The sarcastic remark about ambulances arriving within about eight minutes, while seemingly a dark joke, could also hint at frequent emergency calls to the park, possibly related to the issues mentioned in the reviews.
Deteriorating Environment
The overall environment of Starlite Mobile Village, as depicted in the reviews, is far from appealing. The presence of numerous unfixed cats, aggressive dogs, rundown houses, and a neighbor engaged in disruptive and potentially illegal behavior all contribute to a negative living experience. The lack of enforcement of park rules, leading to issues like the trashy RV and barking dogs, further degrades the quality of the environment.
The closure of the pool, a significant amenity, also detracts from the park's appeal and reduces the value for residents. The apparent prioritization of adding new, unfilled homes over maintaining the existing infrastructure and addressing resident concerns suggests a mismanagement that negatively impacts the overall environment of Starlite Mobile Village.
No Mention of Promotional Information
Given the overwhelmingly negative feedback and the serious issues raised by residents, it is not surprising that there is no mention of any promotional offers or incentives for Starlite Mobile Village in the provided reviews. It is highly unlikely that the park would be actively promoting itself under these conditions. Local users should be extremely cautious and thoroughly investigate the current living conditions before considering any potential promotions, should they exist.
Strong Negative Recommendation
The concluding statement of the detailed review is a stark warning: "Unless you were coming here to die and hide inside the house, I would not recommend this park." This powerful and negative endorsement should be taken very seriously by any local users considering Starlite Mobile Village as a housing option.
Key Considerations for Local Users Seeking a Mobile Home Community in Salem, Oregon
For local residents in Salem, Oregon, who may be exploring housing options beyond traditional RV parks and are considering a mobile home community, Starlite Mobile Village, despite its location on Lancaster Drive NE, appears to be a community with significant and unaddressed problems. The customer reviews paint a picture of poor management, lack of rule enforcement, neglected maintenance, safety concerns related to aggressive animals and disruptive neighbors, and a deteriorating overall environment.
The frequent rent increases without corresponding improvements in services or amenities further exacerbate the negative perception of the park. The closure of the pool and the alleged prioritization of new, unfilled homes over existing resident needs suggest a management approach that is not in the best interest of the current community.
Local users are strongly advised to avoid Starlite Mobile Village based on the serious concerns raised in the customer reviews. The recommendation from a long-term resident to not move here is a significant indicator of the problematic living conditions. Anyone still considering this park should conduct an extremely thorough investigation, including visiting the property, speaking with multiple current residents (if possible), and verifying the status of maintenance, rule enforcement, and safety measures before making any decisions. The numerous and severe complaints suggest that there are likely better and more responsibly managed mobile home park options available in the Salem area.

Starlite Mobile Village Reviews
So many unfixed cats. 2 dogs are aggressive one bite my neighbors dog he needed 42 stitches. The dog still lives here. Rent goes up every year as much as possible. The houses are looking rundown There is no manager on site. The rules are not followed. We have a neighbor who has an old trashy RV infront of her house but other people have been told no RVs are allowed. Seems like Some people get special treatment. The pool is shut down, was shut down last year and told it Will not work again because they would need to put money in to fix it, of course there was no compensation in rent But they’ve had plenty of money to add all these new homes which they cannot seem to get filled. There is supposed to be quiet hours, but they are not followed. Our neighbors dog barks all day multiple hours on end We are told by the management dogs are dogs and bark. Multiple times we’ve had to involve the police just to get something Fixed. Our neighbor threw a fit because she got a fine from the state for allowing her dog to bark all night. 60% of the owners do not leash their dogs and have absolutely no control of them. Steve has ruined this Park. The old managers were a wonderful couple. The park was kept clean our neighbor across the street is a drug addict that yells at all hours police are here twice a month minimum due to her. Management is required to keep the sheds in good condition all of them are rotting and many years past due. Unless you were coming here to die and hide inside the house, I would not recommend this park. Ambulances due arrive within about eight minutes! 🤣

Apr 10, 2024 · Dennis StraightWonderful people! They are kind and helpful and the park is quiet. It is an over 55 park. We had trouble finding a park that would allow larger dogs. Starlite Village was fine with our Bernese Mountain Dog! She loves it here!
