Port William Apartments/RV Park Introduce
For local residents in the Carrollton, Kentucky area who are exploring "rv parks near me" for temporary or longer-term accommodation, Port William Apartments/RV Park, located at 2603 Highland Ave, Carrollton, KY 41008, USA, offers a unique combination of RV sites, cabins, and apartments. They can be contacted at (502) 525-0115 or +1 502-525-0115. Based on recent customer reviews, the experience at this property appears to be varied, with positive feedback regarding the RV park section but significant concerns raised about management and the apartment/cabin rentals, particularly concerning potential discriminatory treatment and maintenance issues.
One positive review from a construction crew that stayed for two months in the RV park during November and December 2023 highlights the cleanliness and quietness of the RV park. The group of nine people utilized rooms, cabins, and RV sites and reported "no complaints" regarding their stay in the RV section. They also noted "good prices" and appreciated the proactive measure taken by the management to insulate water lines to prevent freezing during the colder months. This positive experience suggests that the RV park portion of Port William Apartments/RV Park can offer a satisfactory stay with reasonable pricing and attentive service, at least under certain circumstances.
The reviewer's intention to "stay again" further reinforces the positive impression of the RV park for short to medium-term stays, particularly for those who value a clean and quiet environment. The fact that a larger group with varied accommodation needs was accommodated without issue also speaks to the potential capacity and flexibility of the property.
However, another, more detailed review from an individual who moved to the area for a job opportunity and stayed at Port William Apartments/RV Park for a longer duration presents a starkly contrasting experience. This reviewer initially stayed in the cabins before moving to an apartment for more affordable pricing. Their feedback raises serious concerns about privacy violations, potential racial discrimination, and poor maintenance in the apartment/cabin rentals.
The reviewer recounts an incident where the manager allegedly delivered mail directly to their door instead of following the designated mail pick-up procedure, leading to a feeling of privacy violation and suspicion of snooping. This behavior, if accurate, suggests a lack of professionalism and respect for tenant privacy.
More gravely, the reviewer alleges potential racial discrimination. They describe an instance where their African American spouse received a "dirtiest look ever" from the manager while walking towards the office. Following this, after the reviewer's spouse experienced a medical emergency and an ambulance was called, the manager reportedly told the reviewer they had one week to vacate the premises because she "didn’t want that type of attention at her very mediocre property." The reviewer, a young African American man, expressed feeling a lack of remorse from the manager, especially considering they had not caused any prior issues. This account, if accurate, points to deeply troubling and potentially discriminatory behavior by the management.
Beyond the serious allegations of discrimination, this long-term resident also detailed significant maintenance issues within the apartment they rented. These included perpetually clogged toilets, extremely dirty AC vents, mold in the window, and a caved-in floor near the shower due to inadequate shower curtains. These are significant habitability concerns that would severely impact the quality of life for any resident. The fact that these issues were present suggests a lack of proper maintenance and upkeep of the rental units.
The reviewer concludes their feedback by explicitly advising individuals who look like them (African American) to avoid staying at Port William Apartments/RV Park for more than a very short period due to their negative experiences, particularly concerning customer service, which they described as "horrible...again that’s if you look like me!" This is a serious warning that local users from minority backgrounds should carefully consider.
Considering these contrasting reviews, it is difficult to provide a uniformly positive or negative introduction to Port William Apartments/RV Park for local users searching for "rv parks near me." The RV park section appears to have provided a clean, quiet, and reasonably priced stay for a temporary construction crew. However, the experiences reported by a longer-term resident in the cabins/apartments raise significant red flags regarding management conduct, potential discrimination, and the condition of the rental units.
Information about the overall environment of the property is limited. The positive RV park review suggests a quiet setting. However, the negative apartment review focuses on interior issues rather than the external environment of the property as a whole.
Details regarding services and features are also sparse. The RV park stay included water insulation during winter, suggesting some level of service provision. However, the maintenance issues in the apartment indicate a potential lack of adequate service in that area. Information about typical RV park amenities such as hookups (water, sewer, electricity), dump stations, laundry facilities, or recreational areas is not provided in the reviews.
Promotional information is entirely absent from the provided text. Local users interested in the property would need to contact them directly to inquire about RV site availability, cabin or apartment rentals, pricing, and any potential discounts or special offers.
In conclusion, Port William Apartments/RV Park presents a mixed picture for local users seeking "rv parks near me" or longer-term accommodation. While the RV park section received positive feedback for cleanliness, quietness, and pricing for a temporary stay, serious concerns have been raised by a longer-term resident regarding potential racial discrimination, privacy violations, and poor maintenance in the apartment/cabin rentals. These allegations are significant and should not be ignored by prospective tenants.
Local users considering this property, particularly for longer stays or apartment/cabin rentals, are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution and conduct thorough due diligence. This should include contacting the management to address the serious allegations raised in the negative review, inspecting any potential rental units in person for cleanliness and maintenance issues, and potentially seeking feedback from other current or former residents, especially those from diverse backgrounds. The stark contrast in the provided reviews necessitates a cautious and informed approach before making any decisions about staying at Port William Apartments/RV Park.

Port William Apartments/RV Park Reviews
Stayed in RV park for 2 months in November/December 2023. Was clean and quiet place, we had 9 people from our construction crew here in rooms, cabins and RV. No complaints. Good prices. They came out and insulated everyones water to prevent freezing. Will stay again.
Apr 07, 2025 · Mike LindenfelserI moved in early August from Florida for a job opportunity, at first I stayed in the cabins then towards the end of September I moved into the apartment side for cheaper prices. One day she came to the door to give me mail when she’s supposed to let me know to pick it up in the appropriate spot designated for the mail for the residence. It was very strange and I felt like my privacy was violated as she snooped her nose very urgently in the room I was renting maybe I was just overthinking or maybe not. A couple weeks later my souse (who is also African American) was walking outside towards the office and she gave her the dirtiest look ever. A month later my spouse had an emergency and fell unconscious so in an attempt to save my partners life I called the ambulance. The next day she called me saying I had a week to get out because she didn’t want that type of attention at her very mediocre property. Honestly I can understand, but being a struggling black man in his 20s just trying to survive and live life, I felt like she could have had a little bit more remorse because of the fact that I never gave her a single problem until then. If you look like me (African American) I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless it’s for a week or 2 . The toilets stay clogged, the ac vents are extremely dirty, mold in the window , the floor near the shower is caved in from poor shower curtains. And the customer service is horrible …..again that’s if you look like me!God bless
Dec 07, 2024 · Will CampbellIf I could give zero stars, I would. My fiancé and I rented a room there from the end of June until today, November 6th, 2024. We paid our rent every single week and hardly EVER contacted the landlord for or about anything. Still have our receipts to prove we paid. There was NEVER any mention of a time limit on how long we could rent the room, but we got a text message about being evicted on the 7th last week. Our tv quit near the beginning of us renting and when she came to look at it, she SWORE she smelled weed smoke even though we don’t smoke weed and even asked her to do an inspection. They NEVER cleaned the air filter, despite being told they’d be in once a month to do so. They checked our smoke detectors ONCE when the health inspector made them. Also, I have personally heard the husband refer to two women of color renting room 2 that drive a bronco as racist slurs because there was a bottle cap in the sink drain. We’ve witnessed drug deals that we reported. We were told we had to vacate to make room for someone else to move in. I do NOT recommend renting here. The rooms are far from worth $275 a week, but we were in a position, we took what we could at the time.
Nov 07, 2024 · Crystal PlowmanThe apartment buildings are nice. Mother n law lives in one, and she has l8ved in 2 different apartments. Some only are 1 bedroom, and some are as big as a regular apartment
Oct 29, 2024 · Tabitha LeeThis place is very rundown and not well kept, as well as most all the tenants who reside there are drug addicts. My daughter lived there and it was sad to go see her because there were bullet holes in between her window and her entrance to her apartment. The owner really needs to clean the place up, do background checks on tenants before moving in, and put security up to protect the tenants and their property. Anybody can walk up and just take what they want if it's outside and nobody know or do anything about it.
