Portside at the Beaches Manufactured Home Community Introduce
Welcome to Portside at the Beaches Manufactured Home Community, located at 14001 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32250, USA. For those seeking an affordable housing option in a location close to the beaches of Jacksonville, and perhaps exploring "RV parks near me" for transitional or guest accommodations (though primarily a manufactured home community), Portside at the Beaches presents an evolving residential environment. Reviews from long-term residents offer insights into the community's past, present, and future direction.
One long-term resident, having lived in Portside for over 20 years and witnessed changes in ownership and management, provides a historical perspective. They acknowledge a period of past challenges but emphasize that significant positive changes have occurred, particularly more recently. This suggests a community undergoing revitalization and improvement under new management.
The review addresses some concerns raised by others, such as issues with trash, noisy neighbors, and transient individuals. The long-term resident advocates for a proactive approach within the community, suggesting that residents themselves play a crucial role in addressing these issues directly with their neighbors, security (which is available 24/7), or by reporting to the appropriate authorities. This perspective highlights the importance of community involvement in maintaining a positive living environment and utilizing available resources like security.
Regarding concerns about homelessness and associated issues, the resident believes the situation has improved due to new laws. They encourage residents to be vigilant and proactive in reporting any such issues to the police and security. This indicates an ongoing effort within the community to address these challenges and maintain a safe environment for its residents.
The long-term resident also touches upon the topic of rent increases, stating that annual rent adjustments are a normal aspect of renting and that timely payment is expected, with late fees applied for non-compliance. This sets clear expectations regarding financial responsibilities within the community.
Despite some of the challenges mentioned, the long-term resident expresses a positive overall view of Portside, stating they "like it here" and have been proactive in making it so. Their intention to remain in the community long-term speaks to a level of satisfaction and belief in its potential and ongoing improvements.
A more recent review offers high praise for the current Knowledge Management, Roxanna Rosa. This resident, who moved to Jacksonville two years prior and was able to purchase a new mobile home in Portside, highlights the positive impact of the new management. Roxanna is described as "Wonderful ~Amazing ~Excellent" and is credited with initiating numerous positive changes within the community.
According to this review, Roxanna has been actively engaging with the residents, including holding community meetings in both Spanish and English to ensure clear communication with all. Significant improvements that have been implemented or are underway include enhanced cleanliness, tree trimming and removal, ending rental agreements to encourage homeownership, addressing the issue of stray animals on the roads, promoting adherence to community rules, installing new signage and cameras, improving street cleaning and edging, ensuring timely trash pickup, organizing fun activities, and providing regular newsletters and monthly calendars.
This detailed account paints a picture of a community undergoing a significant positive transformation under strong and proactive management. The emphasis on cleanliness, safety (through cameras and addressing transient issues), community engagement (through meetings and activities), and infrastructure improvements suggests a commitment to creating a better living environment for all residents.
The encouragement of homeownership within Portside is a significant development, potentially fostering a greater sense of community and investment among residents compared to a purely rental-based model. The efforts to address concerns like stray animals and rule adherence indicate a focus on improving the overall quality of life within the community.
The mention of "fun activities" and regular communication through newsletters and calendars suggests an effort to build a stronger sense of community and provide residents with information and opportunities to connect with each other.
While Portside at the Beaches is primarily a manufactured home community with a focus on homeownership, individuals searching under "RV parks near me" may find it relevant for information regarding the general area and potential long-term guest policies for RVs, although this would require direct inquiry with the management. It's important to note that the primary offering here is residential manufactured homes.
The location of Portside at the Beaches in Jacksonville places it in proximity to the beaches, a major attraction of the area. This offers residents the opportunity to enjoy coastal living, with access to beaches, recreational activities, and the associated lifestyle. Jacksonville itself offers a wide range of amenities, including shopping, dining, entertainment, and cultural attractions.
Given the positive changes highlighted in the recent review, Portside at the Beaches appears to be a community on an upward trajectory. Portside at the Beaches Manufactured Home Community Reviews
I saw this google review site and decided to see what people are saying.First off, I have lived here for 20 years. I have experienced the turn over in ownership and office staff. There was a short period of time that things were really chaotic in the office and staff was pretty bad. This was a long time ago, like 10+ years ago. Things have changed.I see that people are complaining about things like trash, noisy neighbors, drug addicts and homeless people. I agree that people should not be leaving trash around their property. I also agree that neighbors shouldn't be loud. These are things that we as renters need to be addressing with our neighbors. It's not the responsibility of office staff to settle your private disputes. I don't have issues with noisy neighbors, because the first time they were loud, I addressed it with them. I don't have trash all over my street, because I address the issue with whomever is leaving trash anywhere. Sometimes, the trash men leave a mess and I call the trash company to report it, problem solved.I believe that the homeless situation has been resolved. We now have new laws that don't protect squatters. The office staff had to go through eviction process to get rid of them before. It was a lengthy process and they had no control over that. If you are seeing homeless people, address them, call the police, be proactive in your neighborhood. With homelessness, you get the addicts. Hopefully you keep your area under a watchful eye and address it. We have 24/7 security here, use it. None of the things that people are complaining about are things that can't be resolved. If you have stray cats, trap them and surrender them to a shelter. If dogs are running loose, do the same. "PROACTIVE" The only reason the street you live on is so bad, is because you allow it to be. Any other community, no matter where it is, has to do their part in making the rules work. So stop complaining and do something about it.If you live somewhere, your rent will go up every year. That's life. Pay your rent if you don't want late fees. You don't get a free pass. These complaints are nothing but a bunch of people thinking that they are entitled. Read your lease, you signed it, you should know the expectations of your life here and as a Tennant, it's your job to keep your street and the people on it accountable to living in a respectful way. If you see them parking on the grass, call security. If they are loud, call security.I like it here, I've been proactive in making it so that I do. I plan to live here until the day I die, unless they no longer exist.Oh, and, if you get a ticket for not mowing your grass or keeping your yard clean, so does your neighbor. They just don't care, so ,"no" you aren't getting picked on.
Feb 18, 2025 · Nadine RoseRoxanna Rosa is a Wonderful ~Amazing ~Excellent ~Knowledge Management to have over Portside Mobile Home Park.We moved to Jacksonville, Florida Two years ago with hopes to buy a small home that would be suitable for myself and my husband {who is Blind} to retire in. Sep 07, 2022 · Lisa Michelle TaylorThis place is such a joke.I've lived here for 16 years in Multiple homes that I rented.Ive own my home since 2019.It's the worst decision I ever made.Lot rent goes up constantly. They never hold everyone to the same accountability especially for the cats that people keep feeding and they keep damaging my home by thousands of dollars. They will tell you you can't keep your fishing poles on the porch but the laundry mat in the front yard across the street is fine. The park knows people cook drugs in here and do nothing. There's people all over that rent without being approved by private owners. Often 16/17 people per trailer like a half way house for illegals and nothing is done about it. When you complain you get a new property manager within about 6 months to a year who are very open and honest that they don't wanna do their job and don't care about it.They post your lot number at the front of the park if you're late on bills etc. It's ghetto in here.Your kids will get slapcheek and all kinda lung infections from these stays as well that also BITE people. It's insane actually. After this many years I'm SOOO done. This place is trash.Im selling my home because of management and I don't recommend ANYONE live here.
Oct 23, 2024 · MandyBeen trying to move into one of their trailers here for over a year but they continue to have "issues" with the title. Got nowhere else to go because I sold my home to get this particular one for cash price so stuck with family till further notice because they watch my kids while I'm at work (single mom) as they are the only support I have and they moved out of my area to live here in a better area.... They will get a better review when I finally move into my place. at this point I wish I had never sold my home and simply got a different job so I could be home when the kids are home from school
May 18, 2024 · Jessica SmithI've seen Farmers treat their cattle better than these people treat their paying customers! They think it's okay to violate our rights and harass us in order to force us out of our own homes and profit off of the poor! The lot rent alone has more than doubled and it's only getting worse!
