Prince William Forest RV Campground, located at 16058 Dumfries Rd, Dumfries, VA 22025, USA, offers a potentially serene and nature-filled experience. You can reach them at (703) 221-2474 or their mobile number +1 703-221-2474 to inquire about reservations and availability. Based on the online customer reviews, the campground boasts a beautiful natural environment and is generally well-maintained, though there are some concerns regarding management practices that prospective visitors should consider.
One enthusiastic reviewer shared their positive experience, stating, "We have loved our month here at Prince William rv campground. It's wooded grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Quiet nights and peaceful days. Perfect for what we wanted. Definitely stay here again." This feedback highlights several key features of the campground. The "wooded grounds" suggest a setting immersed in nature, providing shade, privacy, and a scenic backdrop for your RV stay. The description of the grounds as "well maintained" indicates that the management takes care in preserving the beauty and functionality of the property. Furthermore, the mention of "quiet nights and peaceful days" suggests a tranquil atmosphere, ideal for those seeking relaxation and respite from the noise of urban life. This reviewer's intention to stay again speaks volumes about their satisfaction with the overall experience.
However, another review presents a contrasting perspective regarding the management of reservations. This reviewer initially contacted the campground seeking a spot for one to two weeks and was told there was "no problem." They paid for the first week in advance. However, after staying for only two days, they had to leave for a job in Massachusetts for what turned out to be more than a week. To avoid a long return trip to retrieve their trailer, they intended to pay for the second week remotely. However, upon calling to make the payment, they were informed that they had to move their trailer because their spot had already been booked for someone else. This situation resulted in a significant 20-hour round trip to put their trailer in storage. While acknowledging that the location is a "beautiful spot that seems well maintained," this reviewer concluded that "Management needs some work though." This incident raises concerns about the campground's reservation management system and its communication with guests, particularly regarding changes in availability and the need to move RVs on short notice.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me," Prince William Forest RV Campground offers a compelling natural environment with its beautiful wooded grounds adjacent to what is likely Prince William Forest Park, a large protected area known for its scenic beauty and recreational opportunities. The quiet and peaceful ambiance, as highlighted by one reviewer, can be a significant draw for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle. The well-maintained nature of the grounds further adds to the appeal, suggesting a comfortable and pleasant stay.
However, the experience shared by the second reviewer regarding the reservation issue is a crucial point to consider. It underscores the importance of clear and transparent communication with the management regarding booking policies, especially for longer stays or situations where your travel plans might be subject to change. It would be prudent for prospective guests to confirm their reservation details thoroughly, understand the cancellation and modification policies, and ensure clear communication with the campground regarding any potential changes to their stay.

Apr 22, 2025 · Dan GwinWhen I first contacted this place I said I needed a spot for a week or two. They said no problem. I paid for the first week before I even got there. I was there all of 2 days and had to drive up to a job in Mass for a few days. Well it turned into the rest of that week and the entire next week. Imported to just get an Airbnb and pay the 2nd week here so I didn’t have to drive all the way back down and drag my trailer back up. I called to pay for the second week on Friday and was told I had to move it as my spot had someone already booked. So I had to do a 20 hour round trip just to put my trailer in storage. Beautiful spot that seems well maintained. Management needs some work though.
Apr 16, 2025 · Scott DavisCampground was ok but it is a resort so you are on top of one another. No campfire rings either so having a campfire requires you to bring your own ring or conjure up some way of containing your fire.
Apr 27, 2025 · Seth BowmanVery clean showers and bathrooms. Nice and quiet at this time of the year. Water and electrical for the RV. Free dumping if you are staying there. A very enjoyable 4 days. Temperatures in the low 30s. Last year we tent camped same time of year. This was much more comfortable. Beautiful place to be. Lots of trails.
Dec 23, 2024 · Elizabeth HendersonHad called on a short notice I needed to stay until my well was gonna be completed. The lady that took my phone call was very very sweet I honestly forget her name. I paid for two weeks & she had told me if I needed to extend that I could. Everything went smoothly she was very sweet & left me a pamphlet outside the office upon arrival since I was arriving after hours. The park itself is super nice very clean very spacious. The only issue I had…. Was the gentleman who had called me when I apparently was supposed to check out two days prior to his phone call. That part that really really pissed me off was his lies. I had no problem paying for extension, but he had told me that I can’t stay any longer than to finish the rest of the week off because “someone was coming to reserve my specific spot”. Funny because there was numerous vacant spots beside me. I find it funny that a park would offer a taken spot to another customer rather than to give the customer currently occupying the space to extend if needed. Then when I said I needed two more weeks & that I should be gone by then. He told me I can stay until the 28th & that’s the max limit & I have to leave. So not only did his story change that someone was coming to stay at my exact spot but also why did I have to leave? Why was there a deadline? A lot of other campers stay for months on end & I was basically kicked out in other words. & I paid extra to stay in the back row for privacy!
