Ripley's Sunrise Cove Introduce
For local users searching for "RV parks near me," Ripley's Sunrise Cove, located at 449 Lake Van Rd, Auburndale, FL 33823, presents itself as a potentially ideal destination for those seeking a tranquil and picturesque RV camping experience. Situated on the shores of a lake, this RV park offers a blend of natural beauty, a serene environment, and convenient access to nearby amenities.
According to customer reviews, Ripley's Sunrise Cove is characterized as a "very clean, quiet place" that is "well off the beaten path." This suggests an environment where visitors can escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy a more secluded and peaceful setting. The fact that it's described as being "close enough to places/things you need" indicates that while it offers a sense of retreat, essential services and conveniences are still within easy reach. This balance of seclusion and accessibility can be a significant draw for many RV travelers.
The owners of Ripley's Sunrise Cove are described as "friendly, yet don't hover." This type of management style often creates a welcoming atmosphere where guests feel supported but also have the space and privacy to enjoy their stay. The review also notes that "everyone pretty much keeps to themselves," which can be appealing to those who value a quiet and independent camping experience.
One of the unique features highlighted by a reviewer is the opportunity to witness "amazing sunrise pictures on the lake" for early risers. This suggests that the park's lakeside location offers stunning natural beauty, particularly during the morning hours. The serene views of the sunrise over the water can add a special touch to the camping experience, providing memorable moments for nature lovers and photographers alike.
For those interested in fishing, Ripley's Sunrise Cove appears to offer promising opportunities. Although one reviewer admitted to not personally fishing in the lake, they noted seeing "huge" fish jumping. This observation suggests that the lake is likely teeming with aquatic life, making it an attractive spot for anglers. The potential for catching large fish could be a significant draw for RVers who enjoy spending time by the water with their fishing gear.
However, the lakeside environment also comes with a caveat. The reviewer mentioned that "due to the water surrounding the area, mosquitoes definitely love it here!" This is an important consideration for potential visitors, especially during warmer months in Florida. The reviewer wisely advises to "make sure you prepare yourself for that & you should be fine!" This suggests that bringing insect repellent and taking other precautions against mosquitoes is essential for a comfortable stay at Ripley's Sunrise Cove.
Another reviewer who reports living at Ripley's Sunrise Cove reinforces the positive aspects of the park, describing it as "so peaceful and quiet." They explicitly state their love for the "quietness" of the community. Furthermore, they emphasize the sense of security, noting that "it's very safe to live around here," and that this is a key aspect they appreciate about the park.
Considering the category "RV parks near me," Ripley's Sunrise Cove offers a distinct experience characterized by its lakeside setting, peaceful atmosphere, and sense of safety. While it may not offer the bustling activity of some larger RV resorts, its focus on cleanliness, quietness, and natural beauty can be particularly appealing to those seeking a more relaxed and nature-oriented camping experience. The potential for fishing and the beautiful sunrise views add to its unique charm.
For local users looking for an RV park that provides a tranquil escape while still being conveniently located, Ripley's Sunrise Cove in Auburndale, FL, warrants consideration. The positive reviews regarding cleanliness, quietness, friendly (non-intrusive) owners, and safety paint a picture of a well-managed and comfortable environment. The proximity to the lake offers opportunities for scenic enjoyment and potentially rewarding fishing.
However, prospective visitors should also be mindful of the potential for mosquitoes due to the surrounding water and come prepared with appropriate insect repellent. While the reviews do not mention specific amenities beyond the general environment and lake access, it would be prudent for interested individuals to contact the park directly to inquire about available facilities such as hookups, restrooms, showers, laundry, and any recreational amenities that might be offered.
To make an informed decision about staying at Ripley's Sunrise Cove, local users may want to:
- Contact the park directly (phone number not provided in the given information, so online search may be necessary) to inquire about availability, rates, amenities, and any specific policies.
- Ask about the typical length of stay for visitors to understand the community dynamic.
- Inquire about any specific rules or guidelines related to noise, pets, and other aspects of park etiquette to ensure it aligns with their preferences.
- Prepare for potential mosquito activity by bringing insect repellent and appropriate clothing, especially during dawn and dusk.
- Consider their interest in lakeside activities such as fishing and enjoying sunrise views, as these appear to be key features of the park.
In conclusion, Ripley's Sunrise Cove in Auburndale, FL, offers a clean, quiet, and safe RV park experience in a lakeside setting. Its location off the beaten path provides a sense of peaceful seclusion while still being conveniently accessible. The friendly owners and the potential for enjoying beautiful sunrises and fishing in the lake add to its appeal. While the presence of mosquitoes is a factor to consider, proper preparation can mitigate this issue. For local RVers seeking a serene and nature-oriented retreat, Ripley's Sunrise Cove appears to be a hidden gem worth exploring.

Ripley's Sunrise Cove Reviews
Very clean, quiet place well off the beaten path but close enough to places/things you need. Owners are friendly, yet don't hover. Everyone pretty much keeps to themselves... If you're an early enough riser in the morning, you can catch some amazing sunrise pictures on the lake 😊 I personally have not fished the lake, but let me tell you... the fish that are jumping are huge! Due to the water surrounding the area, mosquitoes definitely love it here! Make sure you prepare yourself for that & you should be fine!
Aug 02, 2019 · Sherry MossI live here and it's so peaceful and quiet and I love the quietness And it's very safe to live around here that's what I like about it
Feb 28, 2025 · Elizabeth GavorcikThe owner, Paul is a chump ! Nothing works in this place. Docks are unsafe. Laundry room is a joke nothing works in there either ! The place is a swamp. People get stuck in their own driveway. The people who live here are good people. The park managers are also good people, unfortunately the owner PAUL refuses to let them fix anything. It is a peaceful place and at night you can sit by the lake and enjoy the smell of raw Sewage…. Sad but true ! This could be a great place to live, only if it wasn’t in such disrepair. Paul do you ever plan on bringing this park up to code ?
