River Beach RV Resort Introduce
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in the Mays Landing, New Jersey area, River Beach RV Resort, located at 4678 Somers Point Rd, Mays Landing, NJ 08330, presents itself as a potential destination. They can be contacted at (609) 625-8611 or +1 609-625-8611 for inquiries. To provide a detailed and objective introduction, we have analyzed the available customer reviews to offer a comprehensive perspective on this RV resort.
One long-term visitor, who has been a patron since 2017, initially described River Beach RV Resort as their "happy place." They praised the management under a previous manager, identified as J., noting her friendly yet professional demeanor and effective management style. This positive experience suggests that the resort may have offered a more favorable environment in the past. However, this reviewer also mentioned some existing concerns, including visible piles of materials such as old wood, cinder blocks, stone, and gravel, which detracted from the aesthetic appeal. Additionally, they raised a concern about the need for improved security to prevent future thefts of private property.
In contrast to this somewhat mixed but overall positive past experience, a more recent and extensive review paints a significantly less favorable picture of River Beach RV Resort. This reviewer highlights several critical issues that potential visitors should be aware of. Firstly, they describe the RV sites as "vey tight" with a "disorganized layout," which could pose challenges for maneuvering and setting up larger RVs. The description of the marina facilities is particularly critical, stating that it is "not a real marina" due to the absence of essential amenities such as power, storage, and dock boxes. This lack of infrastructure would necessitate boat owners carrying all their gear and equipment for each visit.
Furthermore, the review notes the absence of a marina manager, implying a lack of on-site support for boating-related issues or emergencies. The water pressure at the dock spickets is described as "terrible," making boat washing difficult, especially if multiple people are using the water simultaneously. A significant issue is the closure of the boat ramp due to a collapse several months prior, with no repairs undertaken. Instead, picnic tables have been placed across the ramp, rendering it unusable.
The review also points out restrictive rules within the RV park. The use of golf carts is prohibited after 11 PM, potentially limiting late-night access to facilities such as the laundry or bathhouse. The reviewer alleges that management actively patrols in golf carts at night to enforce this rule, while also noting a strong "tattletale population" among residents. Water quality at the campsites is described as "terrible" with a strong sulfur odor. Moreover, many sites are prone to flooding during heavy rain, potentially stranding RVs and causing gear to float away.
Additional restrictions include a ban on outside firewood, and any smoky fires are reportedly required to be extinguished. The Wi-Fi service is described as "terrible." For those utilizing the marina, seagull droppings are noted as a significant nuisance. Electrical hookups at the sites are limited to a 50 Amp plug, with no additional 110 outdoor outlets, requiring accessories to be run through the RV's power system. RV owners are reportedly responsible for all site maintenance, including weed removal, with photographic evidence and emails used for enforcement.
Despite the convenience of black tank hookups at some sites, the reviewer and others reportedly experienced frequent clogs, potentially due to root intrusion in the sewage pipes. Perhaps most concerning for families, the review explicitly states that the park is "not kid friendly" and that it is made clear children are not particularly welcome. There are no dedicated children's activities, no swing sets, or recreational yards, leading children to play in dirt areas they consider a "beach," despite the absence of an actual beach. This observation is ironic given the resort's name.
Considering these detailed and largely negative comments, local users searching for "RV parks near me" should approach River Beach RV Resort with significant caution. While the past positive experience under previous management offers a glimmer of what the resort might have been, the current feedback highlights numerous serious concerns regarding infrastructure, maintenance, rules, and the overall environment. The issues related to the marina's lack of facilities, the unusable boat ramp, poor water quality, flooding, and the unwelcoming atmosphere towards children are particularly noteworthy.
Prospective visitors should weigh the potential benefits of the location against the significant drawbacks outlined in the recent review. The mention of a "happy place" in the past suggests that the resort may have some inherent appeal, perhaps related to its location or natural surroundings. However, the current state of disrepair and the restrictive rules appear to overshadow any potential advantages. It is strongly recommended that anyone considering a stay at River Beach RV Resort conduct thorough due diligence, including contacting the management to address the concerns raised in the reviews and potentially visiting the site in person to assess the current conditions firsthand.
In conclusion, while River Beach RV Resort in Mays Landing, NJ, may have provided a positive experience for some visitors in the past, recent customer feedback reveals significant and concerning issues related to site layout, marina facilities, maintenance, water quality, restrictive rules, and a lack of amenities for children. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" should carefully consider these points and exercise caution before making a reservation or committing to a stay at this resort. Further investigation and direct communication with the management are highly advised to obtain a clear and current understanding of the environment and services offered.

River Beach RV Resort Reviews
This has been our happy place since 2017. Well managed by the previous manager J. She was very friendly, personable yet professional and stern when needed. We love it there. One complaint would be visible piles of “stuff” like old wood, cinder blocks , stone and gravel. Also security should be improved to hinder future thefts of private property.
Nov 20, 2024 · Kris EigenbroodVey tight sites with a disorganized layout. Not a real marina as it has no power, no storage, and no dock boxes. So either carry all your gear or get ready to take your favorite boat brush and hose on every trip. Also there is no marina manager so if something goes wrong you are on your own. If you were robbed or the boat was damaged it will be a surprise right before that long-awaited boat ride. There are water spickets at the dock where you can hook that hose up you just took to dinner with you, however the water pressure is terrible. If someone else is washing their boat at the same time don't even bother unless you synchronize a rhythm of taking turns spraying. The boat ramp is closed due to lack of maintenance and a collapse which happened several months ago and instead of a repair, picnic tables were placed across the ramp. Also don't think about driving your golf cart after 11, so if you want to do late night laundry or use the bathhouse be sure your shower slippers are comfortable. Management drives their golf carts all night looking for violators. However they really don't need to as the tattletale population is impressive. The water quality at the camp sites is terrible and reeks of sulfur. Most sites flood during heavy rain leaving you stranded in the camper and your gear floating away for several hours. No outside firewood allowed and if your fire smokes you will be asked to extinguish it. Wifi is terrible. Seagull droppings are unbearable at the marina. Sites have only a 50 Amp plug, no 110 additional outdoor outlets, so any accessories like golf cart charger or outdoor lights have to run through your Camper power outlets. You are responsible for all maintenance on your site, if a weed pops up you will be prompted with photos and an email. As convenient as having black tank hookups are, we and other sites were constantly battling clogs in the hookup. I suspect roots growing in sewage pipes. This place is not kid friendly and it is made clear that they don't want your kids here. No activities for children at all. There are no swing sets or rec yards so the kids dig in the dirt they consider a beach. Hence the name, except they are missing the beach.

Oct 21, 2022 · Nancy FieldRiver Beach is an awesome campground. The campsites are a nice size and kept up by campers. We have met wonderful people and everyone is so friendly. Janet the manager has been awesome, kind and extremely helpful since this was our first camping experience and we were clueless about what to expect and she really helped us out, and so did Mike the maintenance man. He is so helpful and happy to help you out with anything you need done. They both keep the campground running smoothly and very clean. We are so grateful to have found River Beach and the wonderful friends we have made. Plan to be happy here for a long time. We just love the campground and can't wait for next season
