River Ridge Introduce
Welcome to River Ridge, a mobile home community located at 289 Dundee in Saline, Michigan. For local users exploring "RV parks near me" and considering different residential options, River Ridge presents a community with a range of experiences reported by its residents. While one former resident shared a positive initial experience and appreciation for the assistance received during their home sale, more recent feedback raises significant concerns about the community's management practices and overall living environment.
One positive review comes from a former resident who was one of the first to live in River Ridge. This individual expressed having loved living there and thanked the management, specifically Pam Smith, for her assistance in selling their home. This suggests that at least in the past, some residents had positive experiences and appreciated the management's support. The mention of it being a "dream home" for this resident indicates that River Ridge once held a strong appeal for some.
However, a more recent and detailed review paints a considerably different picture. This resident strongly advises against moving to River Ridge, citing several negative aspects of their living experience. A major concern raised is the consistent annual increase in lot rent without any apparent justification or corresponding improvement in services. This lack of transparency and perceived value for the increasing cost is a significant point of dissatisfaction for this resident.
Furthermore, this review details a number of additional fees imposed by the management for what are described as minor infractions, such as forgetting a garbage can at the curb or having grass growing in cracks. These charges, coupled with the explanation that a 30-day notice of any fee necessitates mandatory payment per the contract, contribute to a feeling of being excessively penalized and controlled within the community. The resident likens the experience to living in a "prison in this subdivision," indicating a significant lack of freedom and flexibility.
The quality of services provided, particularly winter road maintenance, is also criticized, with the snow plowing described as "horrible." This suggests a potential lack of adequate upkeep of essential infrastructure within the community, which can directly impact the daily lives and safety of residents during winter months.
The management is described in highly negative terms, with the reviewer using the derogatory term "Karens" to characterize their interactions. This implies experiences of unhelpful, overly strict, or unreasonable behavior from the management team, leading to significant frustration and dissatisfaction among at least one resident.
Another significant concern raised is the noise level within the community, with the reviewer stating that "most of the people here are noisy as hell." This can severely impact the quality of life for residents who value peace and quiet in their living environment.
Issues with the water quality are also highlighted, with the reviewer describing it as "horrible." They further mention that residents are charged for water usage and are then compelled to install their own Culligan filtration systems at an additional monthly cost of around $100. This suggests a potentially inadequate water supply provided by the community, leading to extra expenses for residents to ensure usable water quality.
The community also reportedly charges residents for having pets, even if they own their homes. This policy can be a significant deterrent for pet owners considering moving to River Ridge and raises questions about the community's overall approach to residents who own their properties within the park.
Finally, a serious allegation regarding diversity is made, with the reviewer suggesting that there is an effort to primarily attract white residents. This is a grave concern and, if accurate, indicates discriminatory practices within the community. The reviewer urges others to "ask around or Google it" to verify this claim, highlighting its potential significance.
The review also notes a shift in the community's desirability. Once having a six-month waiting list, there are now multiple homes for sale and an open lot, suggesting a potential decrease in demand or resident satisfaction. The reviewer expresses their strong desire to move out and their unhappiness with the management, stating that they feel "pushed out" of their home and that corporate does not seem to address resident concerns. The financial aspect is also mentioned, with the reviewer noting the lot rent of $689 per month for 288 units, implying a focus on profit over resident well-being.
Considering the platform category of "RV parks near me," it is important to note that River Ridge is described as a mobile home community with residents owning their homes and leasing the land. While there might be some RVs present, the primary focus appears to be on long-term residency in manufactured homes rather than short-term RV stays. Therefore, individuals specifically seeking temporary RV parking might need to look at dedicated RV parks in the Saline area.
In conclusion, River Ridge in Saline, Michigan, presents a mixed picture based on the limited reviews available. While a past resident recalls a positive experience, more recent feedback raises serious concerns about management practices, increasing fees without corresponding services, poor maintenance, noise levels, water quality issues, pet policies, and even allegations of discriminatory practices. For local users considering River Ridge as a potential long-term living option, thorough due diligence is strongly advised. This should include contacting the management at (734) 429-4300 or +1 734-429-4300 to inquire about current policies, fees, and the overall living environment. Additionally, seeking out more diverse and current opinions from residents, if possible, and potentially visiting the community to assess it firsthand would be crucial steps before making any decisions.

My home has been sold! Big Thank You to Pam Smith for working hard to make this happen. I was one of the first homes in the park, I loved living here, so it is bittersweet moving away. Thank you again Pam for making my dream home happen. Dawn Pratt
Jan 22, 2025 · Dawn PrattDo not move here. They have raised the lot rent every year with no explanation why. You don't get any services for it. Charge you for forgetting your garbage can in the curb. Charge you for grass in your cracks. Charge you for every thing they can. With the excuse per contract any 30 day notice of fee you HAVE TO PAY because they give you 30 day notice. All they do is a horrible plow job in the winter on the roads. Management is the worst kind of "Karens" working here. I would NEVER tell my worst enemies to move here. They make you feel like your in prison in this subdivision. Not to mention most of the people here are noisy as hell. The water is horrible. They charge for water then you have to have culligan install filtration system that cost another $100 a month. Also they charge for having pets even though you own your home. And as for diversity. Let's just say they try to only bring in white people. Don't take my word for any of this just ask around or Google it.There used to be 6 month waiting list to get in here. Now there is currently 5 for sale and an open lot. I'm currently doing everything I can to move out of here. It's pretty bad when you are so happy to buy your own place in a good school district. And the management picks and chooses who to complain about. I'm so unhappy here and can't wait to move out. Management has pushed me out of my home. And corporate does not care. 288 units and 689.00 a month. Money is all they want. Good luck for the others that feel the same way. More post to come...

Mar 19, 2025 · Collin PilbeamMy husband and I down sized after retiring and bought one of the mobile homes here over a year ago. I love my home. It's perfect for what my husband and I need. The Park is well kept and a great feeling of friendliness and safety . With new management there is more organization than before. She is easy to speak too and you get answers to questions when needed. I am so grateful for our new home and community.
Mar 13, 2025 · Anne OttEDIT: The new company is terrible. They wait until they think you’re not home to drop off violations, they hand out the violations unevenly (some of our neighbors have had trash left out in their yard for weeks, including electronics), and they issue second violations in less time than they give you to fix the previous one. They also raise the lot rent annually while not fixing anything in the community, and constantly try to get owners to sell to them so they can turn the units into rentals.Friendly, quiet community. Quite nice, and low prices!
