Welcome to Safari Park, located at 2601 Cherokee Way, Palm Springs, CA 92264, USA. While you might be searching for "RV parks near me" to plan your visit to the Palm Springs area, consider adding Safari Park to your itinerary for a memorable wildlife experience. You can reach them at (760) 328-1108 or +1 760-328-1108 for information on hours, admissions, and special events.
Based on visitor reviews, Safari Park offers a distinctive environment that many find even more engaging than a traditional zoo. One visitor described it as "more amazing than the zoo for getting lost in the WILD!" This suggests a more expansive and immersive setting where animals may have larger enclosures or roam more freely, creating a sense of exploration and discovery. The park is lauded for its "chill" atmosphere, even on busy days, implying a less crowded and more relaxed experience compared to some larger, more conventional zoos.
The environment of Safari Park seems to be designed to mimic natural habitats, with pathways winding through different geographical zones such as Australia, Asia, and Africa. This allows visitors to experience a variety of landscapes and encounter animals from different continents. The emphasis on walking and exploring is evident in one review that mentions the need to "prepare to get a workout" due to the absence of buses within the park. This encourages visitors to take their time and fully immerse themselves in the surroundings.
Safari Park boasts several features that make it particularly appealing to families. There are reportedly two great playgrounds, one located in each half of the park (presumably the Australia/Asia side and the Africa side). This provides dedicated spaces for children to burn off energy and enjoy themselves. Another highlight is the carousel, which offers an "all day" ride pass for $6, presenting an affordable and enjoyable activity for kids. The availability of various food options within the park ensures that visitors can easily find meals and snacks throughout their visit.
One of the most unique features of Safari Park, as highlighted by a visitor, is that it is "the ONLY zoo that has platypuses outside of Australia." These elusive and fascinating creatures are described as "adorable" and represent a significant draw for wildlife enthusiasts. The fact that Safari Park houses such a rare species underscores its commitment to showcasing unique and diverse animal populations.
In addition to the walking trails, Safari Park also offers a tram that circles an open park enclosure. This provides an alternative way to see some of the animals, particularly those in larger habitats. The tram likely offers narrated tours, providing educational information about the animals and their environments. This can be a valuable feature for visitors of all ages, offering a broader overview of the park and its inhabitants.
While the provided information does not include specific promotional details such as discounts or special events, it is common for wildlife parks to offer various ticket options, including daily admissions, memberships, and group rates. It would be advisable to check the Safari Park's official website or contact them directly at (760) 328-1108 or +1 760-328-1108 for the most current information on pricing and any ongoing promotions.

Its more relaxed atmosphere, coupled with features like playgrounds, a carousel, and diverse animal exhibits, makes it an ideal destination for families and individuals alike. The chance to see platypuses, a species rarely found in zoos outside of Australia, is a particularly compelling reason to visit.
Compared to the experience of staying at an RV park, a visit to Safari Park provides a day of exploration, learning, and outdoor activity. While RV parks offer temporary accommodation and amenities for travelers, Safari Park offers a chance to connect with nature and wildlife. Safari Park Reviews
More amazing than the zoo for getting lost in the WILD! We love visiting both the Zoo and Safari Park, but the Park is more chill, even on a busy day. The downside is there are no buses, so prepare to get a workout. We typically alternate "sides" of the Park. We'll do Australia and Asia one time and Africa another. There are two great playgrounds, one on each half, and the kids love the carousel, ride all day for $6, and all of the food options, too.
Nov 05, 2024 · Cynthia WronaSuch a wonderful place. Lots of walking, but beautiful pathways. Nice tram that circles open park enclosure. The ONLY zoo that has platypuses outside of Australia, and they are adorable!
Aug 01, 2024 · Trevor KingKind, caring, volunteers involved in The Laguna project. There was a special event going on. Drought resistance plants were offered for sale. It was a learning and viewing experience! The art displayed was terrific. A very peaceful place and to view wildlife.
May 16, 2023 · Patty BrogiI’ve been a resident now for nearly 10 years. It’s really the best you can find in the Coachella Valley. Christina the front office manager runs a tight ship which translates to a very peaceful, cordial group of owners. The best!
Jan 18, 2025 · Matt ClarkSafari park is a great 55+ community to live in. It’s very centrally located around the Palm Springs area. Very easy access to get to Palm Springs international Airport. The grounds are kept very neat and tidy. The pool area is monstrous and definitely well kept! The pool is heated year-round. Vons grocery store is literally minutes away from the community. Space rent is a little bit high, however you can’t live this reasonable in the Palm Springs area.
