Sandbar 55+ RV and Home Community Introduce
If you are a senior (55+) seeking "RV parks near me" in the Dade City, Florida area, Sandbar 55+ RV and Home Community, located at 40703 Stewart Rd, Dade City, FL 33525, USA, presents a potentially appealing option. This community, catering to the 55+ demographic, appears to offer a friendly and active environment with a welcoming atmosphere for both RVers and homeowners. Based on recent customer reviews, Sandbar offers several positive attributes, though potential residents should also be aware of a couple of points to consider.
One reviewer who stayed at Sandbar while in the area described it as a "Great place to stay" with "Lots of things to do." This suggests that the community offers a range of activities and amenities to keep residents engaged and entertained. While the specifics of these activities are not detailed, the comment implies an active social calendar and opportunities for recreation within the park. This can be a significant draw for seniors looking for an engaging and lively community.
The same reviewer also highlighted the friendliness of the people at Sandbar, stating that they were "very nice and friendly." This aligns with the feedback from a new resident who also emphasized the welcoming nature of the community. A friendly atmosphere can greatly enhance the living experience, making it easier for newcomers to integrate and feel at home. The positive interactions among residents contribute to a strong sense of community spirit.
A notable feature of Sandbar is its pet-friendly policy. A new resident mentioned that "There are a lot of people walking with their dogs," and explicitly stated that "All FRIENDLY, and well socialized dogs are welcome." This is a significant advantage for RVers who travel with their canine companions, as finding parks that warmly welcome pets is often a priority. The reviewer even shared a heartwarming anecdote about their neighbor chilling with their dog and his, underscoring the friendly interactions among pet owners and the overall welcoming attitude towards animals.
The maintenance and cleanliness of Sandbar 55+ RV and Home Community are also praised. The new resident described the park as "very well maintained, and clean." This suggests that the management takes pride in the upkeep of the grounds and facilities, contributing to a pleasant and comfortable living environment for everyone. A well-maintained park reflects a commitment to the residents' quality of life.
The environment at Sandbar is generally described as "very quiet and peaceful" by the new resident. This is a significant benefit for those seeking a tranquil setting, especially for long-term stays. While one reviewer mentioned that "Some people complain about the trains," the new resident qualified this by saying that it's "only every once in a while." This suggests that while train noise may be a factor due to the park's location, it may not be a constant or overly disruptive issue for most residents. However, individuals particularly sensitive to noise should consider this aspect.
The new resident further emphasized the strong sense of community, stating, "Everyone here is very friendly, everyone waves at each other." This reinforces the idea of a close-knit and welcoming environment where social interaction is common and neighbors are engaged with one another. This can be particularly appealing for seniors looking to build new friendships and be part of a supportive community.
However, one important point of caution was raised by a reviewer regarding electricity usage. They advised, "Read your meter before you plug in. Seems neighbors use the power when there is no one parked on lot." This is a significant concern that potential residents should be aware of. It suggests a potential issue with shared or improperly monitored electrical connections, which could lead to unexpected charges. New residents should indeed take the advice to carefully check their meter upon arrival and possibly monitor their usage closely. The reviewer also mentioned only having a 50-amp service but having an adapter, which implies that the electrical infrastructure might primarily cater to a certain type of RV setup.
While the reviews provide positive feedback on the community, staff friendliness, maintenance, and activities, the potential issue with electricity usage is a factor that prospective residents should investigate further with the park management. Understanding the electrical setup and billing procedures will be crucial to avoid any unexpected costs.
As there is no specific promotional information mentioned in the reviews, local users interested in Sandbar 55+ RV and Home Community should contact them directly at (352) 352-2554 or +1 352-352-2554 to inquire about current rates, availability for RV sites, the types of amenities and activities offered, and any specific policies regarding electricity usage and billing. It would also be beneficial to ask about the park's pet policies in more detail, as well as any other rules or regulations that might be relevant to RV residents.
In conclusion, Sandbar 55+ RV and Home Community in Dade City, FL, appears to be a welcoming and well-maintained park with a strong sense of community and a pet-friendly environment. The availability of activities suggests an engaging lifestyle for its residents. However, potential residents should be mindful of the potential for occasional train noise and the reported issue with possible electricity usage by others. Direct communication with the park management is recommended to clarify these points and to obtain the most up-to-date information on rates and availability for RV sites. Overall, for seniors seeking "RV parks near me" in a friendly and active 55+ community in Dade City, Sandbar is worth exploring further.

Sandbar 55+ RV and Home Community Reviews
Great place to stay while in the area. Lots of things to do. Read your meter before you plug in. Seems neighbors use the power when there is no one parked on lot. Only had 50amp, but I had a adapter. People were very nice and friendly. If you can't sleep through trains coming and going blowing their horns then you might want to find another place.
Mar 31, 2025 · Guy PhelpsNew resident here. Been here almost a month. There are a lot of people walking with their dogs. All FRIENDLY, and well socialized dogs are welcome. I really love it here. And the staff is always friendly and helpful. The man in the pic is my neighbor just chilling with my dog and his. I really did get the most wonderful neighbors. The park is very well maintained, and clean. Some people complain about the trains, but it's only every once in a while. For the most part, the park is very quiet and peaceful. Everyone here is very friendly, everyone waves at each other.
Feb 19, 2025 · Moni VBNice small park with a friendly community. Some units need to pulled out due to age. Others just need power washing. This would go a long way to making this park close to perfect! ☺️
Apr 18, 2025 · LYNN DEWITTPoorly run "resort" So called premium lots are terrible, nothing but sandy mud with no concrete pads. Many dilapidated trailers and mobiles. The sewage stinks most nights. No one to greet you if coming in on a weekend had to ask around to find out the security code for the washrooms. Trains run right next to park, about 20 a day/night and blow their horns loud. No plan activities unless it's done by the guest. Pool didn't open until the last week of March. Last but certainly not least my wife and I couldn't wait until our month stay was over, NEVER go back!
Apr 02, 2025 · Larry OatmanA train tracks goes past the park and it's not quiet. Pools questionable. Facilities are older. Under new management so they are upgrading the park. Just not for me. Tho prices to stay are very good.
