Skyline RV Camp Introduce
For local users in the New York City metropolitan area seeking "RV parks near me," Skyline RV Camp, located at 1 Noble St, Brooklyn, NY 11222, presents a unique option for parking your recreational vehicle with convenient access to the attractions of Manhattan and the surrounding boroughs. This introduction aims to provide a detailed overview of the environment, services, and features of Skyline RV Camp based on available information, primarily customer reviews, to help local RV owners make informed decisions.
The Environment: An Urban Parking Spot with City Access
Skyline RV Camp is situated in the vibrant borough of Brooklyn, specifically in the 11222 zip code. Unlike traditional RV parks nestled in natural landscapes, Skyline RV Camp appears to be primarily an urban parking facility catering to RV owners who wish to explore New York City. The reviews highlight its key environmental feature: its proximity to transportation options that provide easy access to Manhattan. Both the ferry and subway are mentioned as readily available means to cross into the city, making it a potentially convenient base for exploring NYC's iconic landmarks, cultural attractions, dining, and shopping.
The neighborhood surrounding the RV park is described as "very nice" and safe, even for walking to and from the ferry at night. This positive aspect of the local environment adds to the appeal for visitors concerned about safety in an urban setting. Additionally, the location is noted to be close to many places to eat and shop within Brooklyn itself, offering local conveniences for RV travelers.
However, it's important to acknowledge a significant environmental consideration mentioned in the reviews: the tight fit for maneuvering larger RVs within the parking lot. One reviewer with a 30ft Class C RV reported being able to manage, but it suggests that navigating the parking area might be challenging, particularly for larger vehicles. This is a crucial factor for local RV owners to consider based on the size of their rig.
Services and Amenities: Basic Parking with Urban Connectivity
Based on the limited information and customer reviews, the services and amenities at Skyline RV Camp seem to be rather basic, focusing primarily on providing a parking space rather than a full-service RV park experience. Here's a breakdown of what can be inferred:
- RV Parking Spaces: The primary service is the provision of parking spaces for RVs. The tightness of these spaces has been noted, suggesting they might be more suited for smaller to medium-sized RVs.
- Accessibility to Public Transportation: A significant service is the location's easy access to both the ferry and subway, providing a direct link to Manhattan and other parts of New York City. This connectivity is a major draw for those wishing to explore the city without driving an RV into its congested areas.
- Host Assistance: One reviewer mentioned a "very kind and easy to work with" host, indicating some level of on-site management and assistance. Contact information is provided: phone (347) 434-6891 and mobile phone +1 347-434-6891.
- Safety and Security: While one reviewer mentioned feeling unsafe due to an open gate and unclean facilities, another specifically stated never feeling unsafe in the location or neighborhood. This suggests that while the neighborhood itself is perceived as safe, the on-site security measures might be a concern for some.
- Washroom Facilities: Reviews indicate the presence of at least two washrooms. However, one reviewer described them as "gross" and "never cleaned by owner" with "garbage's overflowing," suggesting potentially inadequate maintenance of these facilities, at least during their stay in April. This is a significant point for local users to consider, especially for longer stays.
- Lack of Mentioned RV Hookups: The reviews do not mention standard RV hookups such as electricity, water, or sewer connections. This implies that Skyline RV Camp might be more of a dry parking situation, requiring RVs to be self-contained. Local users relying on these hookups should verify their availability before booking.
It appears that Skyline RV Camp prioritizes its location and accessibility to New York City over comprehensive RV park amenities. Local users seeking a base to explore the city might find this acceptable, provided they are aware of the potential limitations in on-site services.
Features: Urban Convenience and Potential Drawbacks
The key features of Skyline RV Camp revolve around its urban location and the trade-offs that come with it:
- Unbeatable Access to NYC: The proximity to the ferry and subway is undoubtedly the most significant feature, allowing RV travelers to easily experience the attractions of New York City without the challenges of driving and parking an RV in Manhattan.
- Location within a Nice Neighborhood: The surrounding Brooklyn neighborhood is described as pleasant and safe, offering a comfortable environment outside of the RV park itself.
- Proximity to Local Amenities: The convenience of being close to restaurants and shops in Brooklyn adds to the practicality of this location for local RV owners.
- Responsive Host: The positive feedback regarding the host suggests a potentially smooth booking and check-in process.
However, there are potential drawbacks to consider:
- Tight Parking Conditions: Maneuvering larger RVs in and out of the parking lot appears to be a significant challenge.
- Potentially Poor Facility Maintenance: The negative review regarding the cleanliness of the washrooms and overflowing garbage is a serious concern. While another reviewer did not mention rats, the state of cleanliness raises questions about overall maintenance, particularly outside of the peak summer season.
- Questionable Security Measures: The report of the gate being left open contradicts the expectation of security in an urban environment.
- Likely Limited RV Amenities: The absence of mention of standard RV hookups suggests a more basic parking arrangement.
- Potentially Higher Cost for Basic Services: Urban parking in close proximity to major attractions often comes at a premium, even if the amenities are limited. Local users should compare pricing with other options, considering the value of the location versus the services provided.
- Inconsistent Experiences: The contrasting reviews highlight the potential for variability in the quality of the facilities and the overall experience depending on the time of year or other factors.

However, it is crucial to also include a note of caution based on the reviews:
- "Important Considerations for Your Stay": Be aware that parking can be tight, especially for larger RVs. Recent reviews have also highlighted concerns regarding the cleanliness of facilities and potential security issues, particularly outside of the summer months. Local users are strongly advised to inquire about the current status of these aspects directly with the host before booking, especially if these are important factors for their comfort and safety. It may be beneficial to ask for recent photos or updates on the condition of the washrooms and security measures.
Local RV owners considering Skyline RV Camp should carefully weigh the significant advantage of its location and access to New York City against the reported limitations in on-site amenities and parking conditions. For those prioritizing city exploration and willing to manage potentially basic facilities and tight parking, Skyline RV Camp could serve as a functional urban base. Given the contrasting reviews, it is strongly recommended to contact the host directly using the provided phone numbers to inquire about current conditions, parking space suitability for your RV size, and any recent improvements or changes in management practices regarding cleanliness and security before making a reservation. This proactive approach will help ensure a more informed and satisfactory experience for local users.

Skyline RV Camp Reviews
The host was very kind and easy to work with! I appreciated that. It’s very easy to get across to NY city from here. You can use the ferry or subway. Very close to many places to eat and shop! It’s a tight fit getting in and out of the parking lot but I was able to do it with my 30ft class C. We are a family of 4 and I never felt unsafe in this location. Did not see any rats as mentioned before. Thank you!
Mar 24, 2025 · Dusti CollinsThis place is just a place to park.As people who were sleeping in our SUV not an RV, the reviews and website made it seem like the accommodation's and security were great. The two available washrooms were gross and never cleaned by owner, garbage's were overflowing entire visit. Gate was kept open the entire time so there were no security measures kept. Perhaps this place is great in the summer but in April, not at all. Would not recommend staying here unless you careless about any of the accommodations and only the cheap parking.Neighborhood is very nice and never felt unsafe walking to and from the ferry at night.
Apr 13, 2025 · D BHuge thanks to the owners of this place for being so cool to open up their parking lot to RVers. The view is amazing and the price incredibly affordable if you know anything about parking in NYC. Security was on-point and we felt safe and our property protected. Nice bathrooms. Showers need some hooks for towels and clothes and the site host, Alex, is working on that. He's been warm, welcoming, and helpful with local tips. Greenpoint neighborhood has lots of shops, eateries, restaurants all within walking distance. Ferries, subway, and busses so convenient to get you anywhere. I really feel lucky to have found this place.
Apr 28, 2025 · Maura DolormenteWe went in December, And it’s an open parking lot with hook-up electricity. We arrived at night and there was no one to greet us or tell us where we could park. My husband had to knock on the next campsite to get some information. In the winter, the bathroom doesn't work, so if you're traveling with a camper that doesn't have a bathroom, this isn't the place for you. If you’re scared about rats don’t go there.Expensive for the amenities it provides. The only positive point is the neighborhood is quiet and close to the ferry.
Mar 14, 2025 · Danielle Silvino MoreiraThe location is great - it's only 30 minutes away from Manhattan using public transportation. The Greenpoint neighborhood is neat to explore. We felt safe parking our van there and we stayed at Skyline RV Camp for a week. It was surprisingly quiet at night. The showers were nice and hot, which was much appreciated. The only suggestions we have is for the bathrooms - it would be nice to have some hand soap, hooks for hanging towels and clothes, and replace the shower curtains. It should be noted that to enter and exit the property you need to contact the host (either by calling or knocking on their door). You can't come and go without notifying the person on-site.
