Speckled Trout River Club and RV Park Reviews
Easily the largest campsites in the area. The Tuckasegee River was right behind our camper, which made for amazing views and a wonderful soundtrack to go to sleep to. Having some wildlife visiters was sucha nice bonus. This is our new favorite place to camp in the area, and I can’t wait to stay here again.
Aug 06, 2024 · Greg CruessHad an awesome time. Perfect spot for a fly fishing trip, right on the river. Fire pits w/ grill on top, electric, sewer, and water hookups for the camper/RV. Has everything you need and will defiantly be back this fall! Also, close enough if you want to drive into town for dinner one night or need supplies.
Apr 21, 2025 · Bailey HorsleyJust beautiful and an overall wonderful experience. The hills surrounding the camp, the wildflowers, and the babbling river were an absolute joy to wake up to—not to mention the stunning sunrises and sunsets! Because of the orientation of camp, we had little shade all day despite using our awning, so next time we will plan to bring some tarps or shades for the sides. My father was excited to fish but due to the lower river levels and the lack of a shoreline, he was unable to. We didn't get to explore around Cullowhee much to find a fishing spot he could get to, but it appeared the Oconaluftee River seemed more accessible. The Wi-Fi didn’t work the first day but I think the router just needed to be reset because the following days we had zero issues are were able to stream on multiple devices. They had nice, new firepits too. I couldn’t recommend it more if you’re exploring western North Carolina! Thank you Speckled Trout, we will be back!
Nov 01, 2023 · Colleen IveyWe loved staying at the Speckled Trout. Quiet, not crowded, and lovely Tuckaseege River flowing right behind the camper. Not complaining just making others aware - no wifi. But that may have been one of the best parts - totally disconnected. We will definitely try to stay here again!!
May 16, 2024 · Sharon AndersonSuch a great spot to explore the area. We stayed because of your proximity to WCU. Just minutes away from campus and our kiddo. The sites are HUGE, level, clean and my oh my the sound of the Tuck River! Cannot wait to come back asap.
