Happy Holiday RV Village Introduce
If you are searching for "RV Parks Near Me" in the Cherokee, North Carolina area, Happy Holiday RV Village, located at 1553 Wolfetown Rd, Cherokee, NC 28719, USA, presents a location with a history of warm hospitality. However, recent reviews indicate a significant change in management and the overall experience offered at the park, which potential local users should carefully consider.
One recent positive review highlighted the exceptional hospitality of Tim and Teresa, who were described as going above and beyond to ensure every guest felt welcomed and cared for. The reviewer praised their dedication, thoughtful recommendations, and friendly demeanor, which made their stay unforgettable. Additionally, the respectful and well-mannered nature of Tim and Teresa's children was noted as contributing to a special, family-oriented charm. The children were reported to be polite, engaging, and even helpful, enhancing the overall positive experience for guests. This review strongly recommended staying at Happy Holiday for a memorable and heartfelt getaway, emphasizing the outstanding hospitality provided by Tim and Teresa and their family.
In stark contrast, a more recent and deeply concerning review from a long-time visitor, who had been coming to Happy Holiday since 2005 and staying for months at a time for the past 12-14 years, paints a drastically different picture. This reviewer expressed heartbreak over the apparent decline of the park following a change in management in the last season. They described what was once their "home away from home," where their children grew up and where they formed lasting friendships, as having gone "extremely downhill."
Specific issues raised in this negative review include allegations of the office staff charging a deposit for the following season without permission. The reviewer also described the current workers as rude and stated that the new management, particularly Serita and staff, had treated many long-term, valued guests poorly, leading to approximately 95 percent of their friends leaving the park. Accusations of dishonesty ("management has been caught in so many lies") further contribute to a concerning narrative. The elimination of cable television and the implementation of numerous "ridiculous" new rules were also cited as negative changes.
The long-time visitor lamented the loss of the positive impact that seasonal residents had on the campground's business, from purchasing ice cream, pizzas, firewood, and propane to attracting other campers throughout the year. They expressed hope for a change in management and board members, fearing that the park might close within a year or two if the current situation persists.
Considering these two very different recent perspectives, it is challenging to provide a fully objective introduction without acknowledging the significant divergence in experiences. The positive review speaks to a period of exceptional hospitality and a family-friendly atmosphere under the management of Tim and Teresa. However, the negative review strongly suggests a severe decline in these aspects under new management, with serious concerns raised about administrative practices, staff attitude, and the overall quality of the guest experience.
For local users considering Happy Holiday RV Village, it is imperative to be aware of these conflicting recent experiences. The park's environment and services appear to have undergone substantial changes. While the location in Cherokee, NC, might still offer a desirable setting, potential guests should inquire specifically about the current management, amenities (including the status of cable television), rules and regulations, and the overall atmosphere of the park.
Given the serious allegations in the negative review, such as unauthorized charges and rude staff, it would be prudent for prospective guests to seek recent, unbiased feedback from other current residents if possible. Visiting the park in person to assess the current environment and facilities might also be a valuable step in making an informed decision.
The phone numbers provided, (828) 497-9204 and +1 828-497-9204, can be used to contact the park directly. When calling, it would be advisable to ask detailed questions about the current management policies, available amenities, and recent changes that might affect the guest experience. Inquiring about the average length of stay of current residents and whether there have been any recent departures might also provide some insight into the overall satisfaction levels at the park.
In conclusion, Happy Holiday RV Village in Cherokee, NC, has received both high praise for exceptional hospitality under previous management and strong criticism regarding a decline in service and management practices more recently. Local users searching for "RV Parks Near Me" should be aware of these contrasting views and conduct thorough due diligence to ascertain the current environment, services, and overall suitability of the park for their needs. The positive experiences highlighted by one reviewer may no longer be representative of the current situation, as indicated by the serious concerns raised by a long-term guest. Therefore, direct communication with the park and, if possible, current residents is strongly recommended before making a decision.

Happy Holiday RV Village Reviews
I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the exceptional hospitality of Tim and Teresa at Happy Holidays rv park and I can’t say enough about how they truly went above and beyond. Despite their already busy schedules, they consistently worked extra hours to ensure every guest felt welcomed and cared for. Their dedication to creating a warm, inviting atmosphere stood out from the moment we arrived. Whether it was offering thoughtful recommendations, checking in to see if we needed anything, or simply sharing a friendly smile, their efforts made our stay unforgettable. What’s equally impressive is how respectful and well-mannered their children are toward all the guests in the park. It’s clear that Tim and Teresa have instilled a strong sense of kindness and courtesy in them. The kids greeted everyone with genuine politeness, happily chatted with visitors, and even lent a hand when they saw someone needed help—all without ever being intrusive. It added such a special, family-oriented charm to the experience.Tim and Teresa’s commitment to going the extra mile, combined with their respectful and delightful children, made our time at Happy Holidays truly exceptional. They’re a shining example of what hospitality should be, and I’d recommend staying with them to anyone looking for a memorable, heartfelt getaway!
Mar 30, 2025 · Jon BrooksWriting this review is truly heartbreaking! We have been coming to happy holiday since 2005. And for the last 12-14 years staying here for months at the time! This was our home away from home. Our kids grew up with kids here and we met friends who are now family! Unfortunately after new management took over last season this place has went extremely downhill! The office staff charged a deposit for the following season on my card without permission just because it was on file! The workers are rude and unfortunately Serita and staff have done sooo many people who were wonderful assets to the campground dirty! The management has been caught in so many lies ! 95 percent of our friends have pulled out from this park. They have done away with cable, created so many new rules that are ridiculous! It’s a shame as the seasonal people brought so much business to the campground from ice cream, pizzas, firewood, propane, to also bringing many campers to join them throughout the year in the sites and cabins! What a complete shame! Praying that justice is served and new board members and management take back over …unfortunately if not these place will be closed within a year or two!
Mar 31, 2025 · Melanie HelmsDO YOURSELVES A FAVOR AND DO NOT SUPPORT THESE PEOPLE!! The management is terrible countless times they have been beyond rude and nasty to guests but also workers. Nobody stays working there as the establishment is very trashy and even goes as far as to delete reviews and make new pages to hide the reviews people are leaving as well as the reviews from previous employees stating the amount of drama and issues this place has. There is multiple news articles out about this place and the trashy things they have going on there do your research Please do not get scammed as they are also known for not refunding your stay for any reason at all if for last second cancellations. Take it from an ex employee your money is better spent elsewhere!
Mar 21, 2025 · StarThis place has really gone to the birds what was our and many others summer home has been destroyed and dismantled. Once was a fun and great place to spend the summer and vaca to has been forever changed and noone gives a crap. From all the management changes to the give to craps less attitudes around there now are ridiculous and quiet comedic....
Mar 31, 2025 · Chad helmsThis place has been our go to spot for Years! Then this last year in Oct. 2024 I took my horses for a Halloween event to do pony rides.Well fast forward to Feb 2nd. Me and my family was planning a stay for the 21-24.I couldn't get anyone on the phone until today Feb 4th! (It took 27 times, voicemails, emails, and FB message) And they finally answered after my 6th attempt today.I come to find out we are all banned. There was some kind of altercation that went on. (Me, my husband and 3 kids were at our cabin at the time of it, we knew nothing about it) Between some people and one the people pulled a knife and threatened to hurt people and pointed it at my niece (my parents, brother, his kids were over near it), and my brother confronted him for threatening her. Everyone kept requesting to get someone to come calm things down with the guy doing the threats. My kin came to my cabin and told me everything that went on. My family in our cabin never was close nor made contact with anyone.I understand banning the person of threat. But everyone else. That's ridiculous. My kin I can see the thought of banning. But for my kids and husband and I. Should of never been brought up. We also have different names, so there was no way to know we were related to say they banned for family.I requested the manager speak to me but they said that person wasn't around when they consistently put me on hold to ask the higher up person all my questions. (Before knowing I was banned)Since 1998 my kin and I have been going. (Longer but in counting the years I personally went) Since 2017 I've personally paid for my little family to go so many times. This is a horrible experience. And even if they lift my ban. I may never return. We kept to ourselves, never bothered anyone. (Expect an amazing worker named Angel. Our kids loved him and he made sure to welcome them with a great big smile)We were planning so many amazing trips this year that's now having to be replanned.I hate that this place has horrible management. And maybe it'll one day start cleaning back up.
