St Mary's River Campground LLC Introduce
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in the Hilliard, Florida area, St Mary's River Campground LLC, located at 29506 Scotts Landing Rd, Hilliard, FL 32046, USA, offers a riverside camping experience. You can contact them at (904) 982-7788 or their mobile number, +1 904-982-7788, for inquiries and reservations.
Based on the available customer reviews, St Mary's River Campground LLC presents a starkly contrasting picture of its current state compared to its past. One reviewer described it as a "small campground with a great boat ramp," highlighting a significant amenity for those interested in water activities on the St Marys River. This reviewer also praised the "fantastic view" of the river along the path leading to the waterfront and appreciated the shade tree next to the parking area, suggesting a pleasant natural environment in certain parts of the campground.
However, another, much more extensive review paints a very negative picture of the campground under its current management. This reviewer, who stated they lived there years ago when it was under different ownership (Steve, now deceased), described a significant decline in the quality of the campground. Under the previous owner, it was portrayed as "very nice" with a kind and responsive owner who promptly addressed any issues. The current situation, under Steve's daughter and her husband, is described as having been "ran into the ground."
The litany of complaints in the negative review is severe and includes allegations of people's vehicles being vandalized, threatening letters left on the vandalized vehicle, loud music being played at disruptive hours (starting as early as 7 a.m. and continuing past 10 p.m.), and instances of people threatening each other. The reviewer claims that no one is ever held accountable for such behavior and actions by the current management. They further stated that the landlord and her husband instructed them not to call the police but to contact them instead. However, when the reviewer reported the loud music to the landlord on multiple occasions, no action was taken, leading them to call the police and file a complaint. This resulted in the management allegedly discouraging residents from contacting law enforcement.
The negative reviewer expressed that they are moving out due to the pervasive issues and described St Mary's River Campground under current management as "the worst place I have ever lived in my life," contrasting it sharply with its "top-notch" state under the previous owner. They also alleged that the current owner's daughter has "done nothing but run this Campground into the ground" and recounted a personal experience of being verbally harassed by the daughter's husband, who allegedly got in their face and pointed a finger at them, leading the reviewer to demand that the owner (Chrissy) keep her husband away. The reviewer strongly advises others to "stay away" from the campground, suggesting that potential campers or residents would be better off continuing to the next campground and not looking back. They also mentioned having been trying to move for about three years of their almost four years living there, further emphasizing the severity of their negative experience.
Considering these two reviews, St Mary's River Campground LLC appears to have undergone a significant decline in quality and management. While it may still offer a "great boat ramp" and scenic river views, as mentioned in the positive review, the serious allegations of vandalism, threats, noise disturbances, and unresponsive management in the negative review raise significant red flags for potential visitors and residents.
The environment of St Mary's River Campground seems to have both positive and negative aspects. The location on the St Marys River offers natural beauty and opportunities for boating. The presence of shade trees is also a plus. However, the negative review paints a picture of a potentially unsafe and disruptive environment with noise issues and a lack of accountability for negative behavior. The alleged vandalism and threats suggest a breakdown in community safety and management oversight.
In terms of services and features, the "great boat ramp" is a notable feature for those interested in accessing the river. The positive reviewer also mentioned parking with shade. However, the negative review implies a lack of effective management and enforcement of community standards, which could impact the quality of any other services or amenities that might be offered. Potential services like restroom facilities, laundry, or recreational areas are not mentioned in either review, but the focus is on the boat ramp (positive) and the breakdown of safety and order (negative).
The stark contrast between the past (under previous ownership) and the present (under current ownership) is a critical point. The negative reviewer's detailed account suggests a severe mismanagement issue that has significantly deteriorated the living environment of the campground.
Currently, there is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. Local users interested in staying at St Mary's River Campground LLC should contact them directly at (904) 982-7788 or +1 904-982-7788 to inquire about current rates, site availability, and any policies or procedures in place to address the serious safety and disturbance concerns raised in the negative review. It would be prudent to ask specific questions about security measures, noise policies, and how the management ensures a safe and peaceful environment for all guests and residents.
In conclusion, St Mary's River Campground LLC in Hilliard, Florida, offers the potential benefit of a boat ramp and scenic river views. However, a recent detailed review raises very serious concerns about the current management, alleging a decline in safety and quality of life, including vandalism, threats, noise issues, and a lack of effective management intervention. Potential visitors and residents should carefully consider this negative feedback and seek assurances from the management regarding these issues before making a decision to stay at this campground. It would be wise to inquire about current conditions and management practices in detail before booking a stay or considering long-term residency.

Small campground with a great boat ramp. Such a fantastic view of the St Marys River along the path leading down to the river front. I love the shade tree next to the parking.

Nov 01, 2024 · Mary KirkI can see that the google maps app doesn’t put our reviews here so here is our experience that is also on the google maps app. I would give it zero stars, but to leave a review it has to have one. The spots are way too close to the neighbors, long term people live here with make shift sheds and trash everywhere, the water that comes into your camper from this campground’s well smells like raw sewage which means bacteria is growing in their well which can make people sick, people who live here go to the well and put in bleach 🥴. There’s drama between the owner and her mother over the property, drama between the owner and her long term campers to the point a guy burned a camper that exploded due to propane tanks, that also burned the campers behind and in front of his and two cars was burned and damaged in the process. ( Kevin you will see his five star reviews below even though he is an arsonist ). There’s a guy who stopped my kids to twerk and dance on them ( Ricky is his name I do believe) this is unacceptable by all means. They let the long term residence put washers on make shift porches that drain down onto the ground flooding you out every time they do laundry. The campsites are so close together you can hear the person in front of you and behind you, you can’t let your awning out for this reason, want to sit outside? That is out of the question. No picnic tables and you can’t put chairs out there due to being too close. The couple in front of lot 36 complain all day long if you come outside your camper. The owner living in front of the campground should be running it better, but she just ignores everything. It’s extremely muddy have a car you love not the place for it. This is NOT a kid friendly campground nothing for kids to do other than be yelled at by the people who live here in very ran down campers cause they are outside. God forbid. Pay the extra mileage and go into Jacksonville Florida or over to Kingsland Georgia and get a campground. By all means skip this one.The day we left another camper was burnt this place is scary for people like me who travels with her kids. I made the mistake paying a month here as my husband is a IBEW traveling union electrician who is working at the Navy Submarine Base till August and found this was open. I will never again stay in this campground and don’t recommend it for any other traveling union workers or anyone for that matter. I have been traveling with the IBEW for years and this is the only campground I have EVER left a bad review for. We have had wonderful experiences while traveling, but not here.
