For local users who might be exploring the platform category "RV parks near me," it's important to note that Texas Place Mobile Home Park primarily provides long-term residential options in mobile homes rather than short-term RV accommodations. This introduction aims to provide a balanced perspective on the park based on available customer reviews.
The feedback from residents and former residents of Texas Place Mobile Home Park presents a mixed picture, highlighting both potential drawbacks and positive aspects. Understanding these varying experiences is crucial for anyone considering residing in this community.
Environment and Condition of Homes:
One former resident expressed significant dissatisfaction with the condition of the trailers they lived in at Texas Place Mobile Home Park. Their review detailed issues such as a hole in the bathtub covered with tape, broken windows seemingly glued back together, and weak walls. This individual also claimed that maintenance requests were often addressed inadequately with temporary fixes, requiring multiple follow-up calls. They strongly advised against recommending the park based on their experiences with the condition of the homes and the responsiveness of maintenance.
In contrast, another reviewer who rented a three-bedroom, two-bathroom mobile home reported a more positive initial impression of their unit. They found it to be large, with carpet in fair condition and spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. This suggests that the quality and condition of individual mobile homes within the park may vary considerably.
The presence of a yard suitable for pets, including large breeds, was also noted as a positive environmental feature by the latter reviewer. Additionally, they mentioned that the neighbors were friendly and the park was generally quiet, contributing to a pleasant living environment.
The park's requirement for residents to maintain clean yards was seen as a positive aspect, helping to prevent a "trashy look" and contributing to the overall appearance of the community.
Services and Maintenance:
The experience with maintenance appears to be a point of contention. The negative review specifically mentioned "Red," the maintenance man, alleging that repairs were often superficial and temporary, requiring repeated requests. This suggests potential inconsistencies in the quality and timeliness of maintenance services.
However, the positive review did not mention any issues with maintenance, which could indicate that experiences may vary depending on the specific home and the nature of any required repairs. Prospective residents should inquire about the park's maintenance procedures and response times to understand the level of support they can expect.
Management:
A significant positive aspect highlighted in one of the reviews is the park manager. This former resident described the manager as "super sweet" and expressed deep gratitude for her support and friendship following the death of her husband. This personal connection and the positive portrayal of the manager suggest that the park's management can be a supportive and caring presence within the community.
The contrast between the negative feedback regarding maintenance and the highly positive feedback regarding the manager indicates that while some operational aspects may have shortcomings, the interpersonal interactions with management can be a significant strength of Texas Place Mobile Home Park.
Community Features:
The positive review mentioned friendly neighbors and a quiet park environment, suggesting a sense of community and peaceful living. This can be a significant draw for individuals seeking a calm and neighborly residential setting.
The requirement for clean yards, while potentially seen as strict by some, contributes to the overall upkeep and aesthetic of the community, which can be a benefit for residents who value a tidy living environment.
The negative review mentioned the park being "way too strict about the smallest things," which could be a point of concern for potential residents who prefer a more relaxed set of community rules. It would be beneficial to inquire about the specific rules and regulations of the park to ensure they align with individual preferences.
Potential and Considerations:
Texas Place Mobile Home Park offers the potential for affordable housing in Abilene. The positive aspects include potentially spacious homes, a pet-friendly environment (for some units), friendly neighbors, a quiet atmosphere, and a supportive manager. These factors could make it an attractive option for certain individuals and families.
However, the significant concerns raised about the condition of some trailers and the quality of maintenance cannot be ignored. Prospective residents must exercise caution and conduct thorough due diligence before committing to living in the park. This should include:
- Inspecting the specific mobile home they intend to rent or purchase very carefully. Pay close attention to the condition of walls, floors, bathrooms, and windows.
- Inquiring about the maintenance history of the unit and the park's general maintenance procedures. Understand how maintenance requests are handled and what the typical response time is.
- Speaking with current residents (if possible) to get a broader range of perspectives on the living conditions, maintenance, and management.
- Obtaining a clear understanding of all park rules and regulations to ensure they are comfortable with them.

Texas Place Mobile Home Park Reviews
Trailes are never in good condition. There was hole in my bathtub with duck tape over it, broken windows LITERALLY GLUE BACK TOGETHER, walls are so week you could fall into them. Red (their maintenance man) never fixes anything, just puts wood or tape or glue over it and then it's broke a couple days later, not to mention it takes SEVERAL phone calls do actually get him to come. Would not recommend. All of the trailers I have lived in were always so broken and run down they weren't worth the price. They are way to strict about the smallest things. Glad I got away when I could
Oct 18, 2023 · okokrellik NireMy husband rented a 3 bedroom 2 bath Mobil home here. I did not have high hopes but when I saw the trailer I was impressed. It was large, carpet in fair condition and large bedrooms and bath. The yard was perfect for my pets as I have a English Mastiff and a Great dane/boxer mixed. The neighbors were really nice and the park was quite. For the rent I couldn't ask for more. Plus they want you to keep a clean yard, so no trashy look. The best part were the manager. She was super sweet and when my husband died due to Covid she was a great friend. I will give this park 5 plus stars.
Jul 06, 2022 · Juan HowzeGood price and maintenance is quick about taking care of things. I do really wish the issue with the dogs loose all over the trailer park would be handled better. My son has been bit 3 times now by dogs running loose. Bad enough to need stitches. I have reported it to the animal control and the park office every time it has happened but the issue is not resolved.
Nov 24, 2018 · Heather E McFerranFinally got them to fix a plumbing issues after the 4rd time of them looking at it. Also got told they can't do anything about the cats under the house. Posing a health risk for me and my family, we can't walk out the front door without fleas biting us just to get to the cars.
May 28, 2022 · Adrian TrejoI went in and payed for 3 application fees I called the next day and they needed more information on where I lived the past 2 years. I am military and was in the dorms then. I'm just curious why they never called me and asked me. So I give them that information and they tell me to call the next day again. I just called them back and they tell me I've been disapproved for no rental history. No other questions would be answered when i asked. It's a 500 dollar per month rental. How does a sra with a good credit history and no delinquent payments get disapproved for a TRAILER? Beware they are running a scam and I wonder why they have so many empty trailers
