I called and needed a spot for one night with bathrooms/showers. We arrived I went into the office the guy with glasses started bugging out that no one told him anyone was checking in, it was awkward, I said they told me to leave money in the drop box. He said ok, I asked where our site was and it was like I was an inconvenience to be shown where it is. Well you can see in the photo I posted that we were next to a trash pile. Another guy kept tooling around over there with his tractor which was quite disruptive. Went to checkout the bathroom and it was disgusting I wouldn’t dare to use it, the sink looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in forever, the white shower curtain looked like it had black on it possibly mold I’m not sure I walked out. Bathrooms are not cleaned on the regular. We opted to take a sponge bath in our camper. We stayed here because we had plumbing issues and then couldn’t use the amenities. This pace is long term residence, I don’t recommend if passing through. $50 cash for one nite you would think the place would be clean. - A H

The Old Homestead RV Park Introduce

If you are searching for "RV parks near me" in the Goodman, Missouri area, The Old Homestead RV Park, located at 557 Olympia Road, presents a residential option that appears to elicit contrasting experiences among its visitors. While one reviewer highlights a strong sense of community and positive interactions with the owners, another describes a significantly negative experience, particularly concerning the cleanliness of amenities and the park's suitability for short-term stays. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview based on these differing perspectives to help local users make an informed decision.

One reviewer describes The Old Homestead RV Park as a "great place to live" with a "great community of people." This positive feedback suggests that for long-term residents, the park fosters a strong sense of belonging and camaraderie. The same reviewer also praises the owners as "really cool people" who are "helpful with everything" and willing to assist with any needs. This indicates that the management is perceived as supportive and contributes positively to the living environment for those who reside there permanently.

However, a contrasting experience is detailed by a traveler seeking an overnight stay with access to bathroom and shower facilities. This review paints a less favorable picture, particularly regarding the park's management and the cleanliness of its amenities. The reviewer recounts an awkward check-in process, feeling like an inconvenience to the staff. More concerningly, they describe the restroom and shower facilities as "disgusting," noting an unclean sink and a shower curtain that appeared to have mold. This led them to opt for a sponge bath in their camper instead of using the park's facilities, suggesting a significant lack of regular cleaning and maintenance in these essential areas.

Furthermore, the overnight visitor mentioned being placed next to a trash pile, which detracted from the environment of their site. They also noted disruptive activity from someone operating a tractor nearby. This suggests that the park might not prioritize the experience of short-term guests in terms of site placement and noise levels. The reviewer explicitly states that The Old Homestead RV Park seems to cater to long-term residents and does not recommend it for those just passing through, especially given the $50 cash fee charged for a single night, which they felt was not justified by the condition of the park.

Considering these two very different accounts, it is crucial for local users searching for "RV parks near me" to understand the potential implications. If you are seeking a long-term residential community in your RV and value a strong sense of community and helpful owners, The Old Homestead RV Park might be worth considering. The positive review suggests that it fosters a welcoming environment for permanent residents.

However, if you are an overnight traveler or someone who places a high priority on clean and well-maintained bathroom and shower facilities, the negative review raises significant red flags. The described state of the amenities is a serious concern and suggests a potential lack of attention to hygiene in these areas. The placement of an overnight guest next to a trash pile and the disruptive tractor noise also indicate a possible lack of consideration for the comfort of short-term visitors.

The discrepancy between the two reviews could stem from different expectations or the park's varying focus on long-term versus short-term guests. It is possible that the sense of community praised by the long-term resident is a significant aspect of the park's appeal for those who live there permanently, while the needs of transient visitors might not be as adequately met.

For local users considering The Old Homestead RV Park, it would be prudent to inquire specifically about the cleanliness and maintenance schedule of the bathroom and shower facilities. If these amenities are important to you, it might be beneficial to ask for recent feedback or perhaps even request to see them before committing to a stay, especially for a short-term visit. Similarly, if you are planning a brief overnight stop, it would be wise to inquire about the location of your assigned site relative to potential sources of noise or less desirable areas of the park, such as trash disposal.

Conversely, if you are looking for a long-term RV community in the Goodman area, reaching out to the park management to learn more about the community atmosphere, the support provided by the owners, and the general environment for residents would be advisable. You might also want to inquire about the typical demographics of the residents and any community events or activities that foster a sense of belonging.

Since no promotional information is provided in the reviews, local users should contact The Old Homestead RV Park directly at (417) 364-7669 or +1 417-364-7669 to inquire about rates, availability, and any specific policies or services offered. Asking about the park's approach to cleanliness, noise management, and the allocation of sites for different types of stays would be particularly relevant given the contrasting feedback in the reviews.

In conclusion, The Old Homestead RV Park in Goodman, Missouri, appears to be a place with a strong sense of community and helpful owners, which is highly valued by at least one long-term resident. However, potential short-term visitors should be aware of concerns raised about the cleanliness of the bathroom and shower facilities, site placement, and potential noise issues. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" should carefully consider their priorities – whether they are seeking a long-term community or a clean and well-serviced overnight stop – and conduct further inquiry with the park management to determine if The Old Homestead RV Park aligns with their specific needs and expectations.
