The Ouachita Rv Park Introduce
For local users in the Monroe, Louisiana area searching for "RV parks near me," The Ouachita RV Park, located at 7300 Frontage Rd, presents itself as a potentially convenient option due to its location directly off the freeway. However, recent customer reviews provide important insights into the park's environment and services, highlighting both positive and negative aspects that potential guests should carefully consider.
One reviewer noted a positive initial interaction with the office staff, describing the lady encountered as "very nice and helpful." This suggests a welcoming and accommodating initial point of contact, which can contribute to a positive first impression. The convenience of the location right off the freeway was also acknowledged as a potential benefit for travelers seeking easy access. However, this convenience comes with a significant drawback, as the reviewer also pointed out the considerable "road noise" associated with being situated so close to a major thoroughfare.
In terms of the RV sites themselves, the reviewer found the pads to be level and the hookups to be in good condition, which are essential for a comfortable and functional RV stay. However, a significant concern was raised regarding the spacing of the pads, which were described as being "so close together it was uncomfortable." This lack of space between campsites can impact privacy and the overall sense of relaxation during a stay.
The Ouachita RV Park does offer some amenities that might appeal to certain travelers, including a "nice playground" and a "dog park." These features can be particularly attractive for families traveling with children and pet owners. Unfortunately, at the time of the review, both the playground and the dog park were unusable due to flooding ("too flooded to enjoy"). In fact, the reviewer noted that "the whole place was flooded," making it difficult even to find a suitable area for dogs to relieve themselves. This indicates a significant drainage issue within the park, especially during periods of heavy rain.
The reviewer also mentioned the presence of a game room, although they did not use it. The fact that this amenity exists suggests a potential for indoor recreation and entertainment. Additionally, a pond located at the back of the property was described as "pretty," indicating a potentially scenic natural element within the park's environment.
Another observation made by this reviewer was that The Ouachita RV Park had "a lot of long term residents." This could suggest a stable community but might also influence the overall atmosphere of the park, potentially making it feel less like a transient-friendly resort. Ultimately, this reviewer stated that they would "probably not stay here again" due to the issues encountered, particularly the flooding and close campsite spacing. However, they conceded that "others may find it adequate" and noted that "the price was decent," suggesting that the affordability might be a factor for some travelers willing to overlook the drawbacks.
A second review echoed the concerns about drainage. This reviewer described the campsites as "decent" under normal conditions but highlighted a major problem during heavy rainfall: "It rained a ton and the park had 0 drainage. Our campsite was under water the whole time." This reinforces the issue of poor drainage and its significant impact on the usability of the campsites during wet weather. The reviewer also noted a lack of sufficient gravel at their campsite and on the roads, contributing to a "complete muddy mess." While acknowledging that the park might be "a fine campsite when it's not under water," this review strongly emphasizes the negative experience caused by the lack of drainage.
Considering these two reviews, local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Monroe, LA, should be aware of the potential downsides of The Ouachita RV Park, particularly the significant issues with flooding and drainage during rain, the close spacing of the RV pads, and the potential for noise due to its freeway adjacent location. While the park offers a playground, a dog park, and a game room, the usability of the outdoor amenities can be severely limited by wet conditions. The presence of long-term residents might influence the park's atmosphere.
The positive aspects appear to be the helpfulness of the office staff, the level RV pads with good hookups, and a potentially decent price point. The pond might offer a pleasant visual element. However, these positives may be overshadowed by the more significant environmental and spatial concerns raised in the reviews.
As there is no promotional information provided in the reviews, local users would need to contact The Ouachita RV Park directly at (318) 343-8672 or +1 318-343-8672 to inquire about current rates, availability, specific amenities, and the management's response to the drainage issues highlighted in the reviews. It would be prudent to ask about their policies regarding refunds or alternative arrangements in case of flooding or other adverse conditions.
Visiting the location at 7300 Frontage Rd in Monroe might allow potential guests to assess the layout of the park, the proximity of the campsites, and the general condition of the grounds. However, it might be difficult to gauge the drainage situation without experiencing a period of heavy rain.
In conclusion, The Ouachita RV Park in Monroe, LA, offers convenient freeway access and some amenities like a playground, dog park, and game room. However, potential guests should be aware of significant drawbacks reported by recent visitors, including considerable road noise, closely spaced RV pads, and severe flooding and drainage issues during wet weather. While the office staff may be friendly and the price decent, the environmental concerns could significantly impact the overall stay experience. Local users are advised to contact the park directly for more information and to carefully weigh the potential benefits against the reported drawbacks before making a reservation.

The Ouachita Rv Park Reviews
The lady in the office met me outside and was very nice and helpful. I guess you could say the location was convenient since it was right off the freeway but that brings a lot of road noise. The RV pads were level and hookups were in good condition, but the pads were spaced so close together it was uncomfortable. They had a nice playground and dog park, but both were too flooded to enjoy. In fact the whole place was flooded and it was difficult to find a place for the dogs to do their business. We did not use the game room but I bet that would have been fun. The pond on the back was pretty. This park had a lot of long term residents. I would probably not stay here again. But others may find it adequate and the price was decent.
Apr 28, 2025 · KatratvetDecent campsites. It rained a ton and the park had 0 drainage. Our campsite was under water the whole time. There was not enough gravel at our campsite or on the roads. It was just a complete muddy mess. I'm sure it's a fine campsite when it's not under water.
May 06, 2025 · Jimmy GallawayMy wife and I really enjoyed our 1 night stay. Nice large pull thru site. They even helped us get situated and made Sure we had everything we needed.
May 03, 2025 · Randy CutterSite 12 didn't have much shade, but full hookups are amazing. The shower had great water pressure and steady hot water. Easy to add a night if needed, responded to the email and they did all the work from there.
Apr 15, 2025 · Brittany HarrisNice park to spend as a pit stop. Close to everything you need in Monroe.Nice gravel drive-throughs. It was below 32 degrees when I was there. Can't control the weather, clean and hot showers and friendly service in the office.
