The Village Green of Grand Haven Introduce
For local individuals and families in the Grand Haven, Michigan area exploring residential options within the category of "rv parks near me" (often encompassing mobile home parks), The Village Green of Grand Haven, located at 1700 Robbins Rd #301, Grand Haven, MI 49417, USA, presents a community with a somewhat complex and mixed reputation based on available customer reviews. While some aspects of the park are viewed positively, others raise concerns that potential residents should carefully consider.
One visitor described The Village Green as looking like a "friendly neighborhood" upon initial observation. This suggests that the community may present a welcoming facade and that social interactions among some residents might indeed be positive. However, it's important to delve deeper into the experiences of those who have lived within the park to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the living environment.
A resident's review highlights the park's cleanliness as a notable positive attribute, stating it is a "clean place to live." This is undoubtedly an important factor for many seeking a comfortable and well-maintained residential environment. Cleanliness can contribute significantly to the overall quality of life within a community and reflect positively on the management's attention to upkeep.
However, this positive aspect is juxtaposed with significant criticisms regarding the park's rules and their enforcement, particularly in relation to families with children. The same resident expresses a strong sentiment that the park is "not very family friendly if you have small kids that like to play outside." This serious concern is supported by the specific example of management threatening eviction over seemingly minor infractions, such as a child's bicycle being visible from the road for what was perceived as "too long." Such strict and seemingly inflexible rules could create a stressful and unwelcoming environment for families with young children who naturally engage in outdoor play.
Further compounding this issue is the reported behavior of some neighbors who are described as complaining about "anything and everything" and being unable to "mind their own business." This suggests a lack of tolerance for the normal activities associated with children playing outdoors, potentially leading to conflicts and an uncomfortable living situation for families. The combination of strict management enforcement and critical neighbors could make The Village Green a less than ideal choice for those with young, active children.
Another significant area of concern raised by a resident pertains to the winter maintenance of the park, specifically snow removal. The review states that the "plow truck never really clears everything completely," resulting in consistently "really slippery and hard to get out of the trailer park all winter long." In a region like Grand Haven, Michigan, where winter conditions can be severe, inadequate snow removal can pose safety hazards and significant inconvenience for residents attempting to commute or even move safely within the park. This lack of effective winter maintenance is a serious drawback for potential residents, especially those who need to travel regularly during the winter months or have mobility concerns.
Finally, the review touches upon the consistency and helpfulness of the park's management. According to one resident's experience, management is only "helpful 20% of the time." This suggests a significant degree of inconsistency in the responsiveness and support provided by the management. Such unpredictability can be frustrating for residents who may need assistance with various issues related to their tenancy or the park's operations. Reliable and consistently helpful management is crucial for a positive living experience, and the reported inconsistency at The Village Green is a point of concern.
In summary, The Village Green of Grand Haven presents a community that is noted for its cleanliness. However, this positive aspect is overshadowed by significant concerns regarding its family-friendliness, particularly for those with young children who enjoy outdoor play. The strict enforcement of rules, coupled with complaints from some neighbors, creates a potentially challenging environment for families. Additionally, the inadequate snow removal during winter months poses safety and logistical issues. Finally, the reported inconsistency in the helpfulness of the management adds another layer of potential frustration for residents.
For local individuals and families in the Grand Haven area exploring "rv parks near me" for long-term residential options, The Village Green of Grand Haven, reachable by phone at (616) 846-1020 or +1 616-846-1020, offers a community with a clean environment but also significant drawbacks. The apparent lack of tolerance for children's outdoor play, strict rule enforcement, poor winter maintenance, and inconsistent management are serious considerations that prospective residents must weigh carefully against the park's cleanliness. While the initial impression might be of a friendly neighborhood, the experiences of residents suggest a more complex reality. It would be highly advisable for potential residents to inquire further about the specific rules and regulations, the approach to family living, the winter maintenance plan, and the typical responsiveness of the management to gain a more comprehensive understanding before making a decision about residing in The Village Green of Grand Haven.

The Village Green of Grand Haven Reviews
Looked like a friendly neighborhood. I was just visiting.
Feb 06, 2025 · Tammy RiddleClean place to live, that’s about it. They’ll threaten to kick you out over anything including a kids bike being visible from the road for too long. Not very family friendly if you have small kids that like to play outside, neighbors will complain about anything and everything and can’t mind their own business. Their plow truck never really clears everything completely and it’s always really slippery and hard to get out of the trailer park all winter long. Management is helpful 20% of the time.
Jan 26, 2021 · Trash PandaThis is a nice place to live. It's a clean and quiet mobile home park. The folk who reside here are of all ages, types and cultures. You won't find rude loud and obnoxious people. I enjoy my stay here while visiting in Grand Haven.
Nov 27, 2017 · James VWhile the park and residents are nice for the most part management leaves a lot to be desired, especially for such a high Lot rent that increases yearly without fail. They are very strict with residents when it comes to upkeep, home appearance and park rules yet don't hold up to their own standards. The yards of the unoccupied trailers aren't cleaned in the fall and all the unattended leaves are left to blow all over the yards of paying residents who are expected to keep their yards clean and leaf free. The plowing and winter upkeep is laughable. The park will go well over a week with no plowing, even under heavy snow fall. Residents, utility trucks and emergency vehicles are continually getting stuck. The driveways to the main roads are terrible as well, making pulling out on to busy streets very difficult and dangerous.Depending on your relationship with management you will get treated differently as well. While some residents are allowed to store boats, campers and non working vehicles in their driveways and yards others can't even have a bike on the front porch without getting a write up.They also don't investigate any resident complaints on other residents. They just issue a write up with no follow up or investigation on if the allegations are true and rules are truly being violated. With how high the Lot rent is the benefits of being in the park aren't even close... you would be better off using your money to pay for your own piece of property to live on.
Jan 08, 2018 · Jenna SpieceGood prices. Nice area. People can be kinda meh. If you plan on moving there make sure you don't plan on making any kind of noise. But, over all its it's a pretty great place. Management is pretty nice as well.
