Thunderbird Village Introduce
For those seeking a 55+ resident-owned manufactured home community in the Tumwater, Washington area, Thunderbird Village, located at 706 Dennis St SE #10th, Tumwater, WA 98501, USA, presents itself as an option to consider. Situated in close proximity to Olympia, the state capital, Tumwater offers a blend of suburban comfort and access to urban amenities. While not strictly an "RV park," manufactured home communities can sometimes appeal to individuals transitioning from RV living or seeking a similar sense of community and potentially more affordable housing options within the broader category of "RV parks near me" when considering long-term living arrangements.
One of the key features highlighted in a customer review is that Thunderbird Village is a "beautiful and affordable 55+ resident-owned manufactured home community." This resident-owned structure can be particularly appealing as it often implies a greater sense of community ownership and potentially more control over the park's management and future. The age restriction of 55+ fosters a community environment tailored to the needs and preferences of senior residents.
The review also emphasizes the security and safety of the property, describing it as "secure and safe." This is a significant factor for many individuals, particularly those in the 55+ age group, who prioritize a safe and peaceful living environment. Knowing that the community is secure can provide peace of mind and contribute to a higher quality of life for its residents.
Furthermore, the grounds of Thunderbird Village are described as "impeccably maintained." This suggests a well-cared-for environment, which can enhance the aesthetic appeal of the community and contribute to a pleasant living experience. Well-maintained grounds often reflect a commitment to the overall well-being and satisfaction of the residents.
The reviewer concludes by stating that Thunderbird Village is "One of the best communities in the state." This strong endorsement speaks positively to the overall quality of life and community spirit within the park. Such a commendation can be a significant factor for prospective residents seeking a welcoming and thriving 55+ community.
However, it is crucial to consider all available information when evaluating a potential living situation. Another customer review raises a serious concern, alleging discriminatory practices against Indigenous peoples. The reviewer states, "They discriminate against Indigenous peoples--many of whom have non-taxable income that is not reflected on an income tax statement but that can easily be provided via other legal statements and/or bank records. As a tribal member I was deprived of a once-in-a lifetime home purchase due to their unfair, exclusionary (sic redlining), wholly unjust 'income tax form' as only proof of income."
This allegation of discrimination is a serious matter and should be carefully considered by prospective residents. If the park's policies regarding proof of income disproportionately affect certain groups, it could indicate a potentially exclusionary environment. It is essential for the management of Thunderbird Village to address such concerns and ensure fair and equitable practices for all potential residents.
To gain a comprehensive understanding of Thunderbird Village, it is advisable to contact the management directly at (360) 357-8838 or +1 360-357-8838. Direct communication will allow you to inquire about:
- Availability of manufactured home lots.
- The process for purchasing or moving a manufactured home into the community.
- Lot rental fees and any associated community fees or HOA dues (despite being resident-owned, there may still be fees for maintenance and shared amenities).
- Specific amenities offered within the community, such as clubhouses, recreational facilities, or organized activities for residents.
- The community's rules and regulations, including those pertaining to income verification and resident conduct.
- Policies regarding resale of manufactured homes within the community.
- Any specific requirements or qualifications for residency in this 55+ community.
- The management's response to the allegations of discriminatory practices and their policies on fair housing.
While Thunderbird Village is described as a "resident-owned manufactured home community" rather than a traditional "RV park," individuals exploring the broader category of "RV parks near me" for long-term, community-oriented living options might find such communities relevant. The emphasis on a 55+ age group, security, and maintained grounds could appeal to those seeking a stable and well-managed environment.
However, the serious allegation of discrimination necessitates thorough investigation and direct communication with the management to understand their policies and ensure equitable treatment for all. Prospective residents should inquire about the park's income verification procedures and whether alternative forms of proof of income are accepted, particularly for individuals with non-taxable income.
In conclusion, Thunderbird Village in Tumwater, WA, is presented as a beautiful, affordable, secure, and well-maintained 55+ resident-owned manufactured home community. The positive review highlights its strengths as one of the best in the state. However, the serious allegation of discriminatory practices against Indigenous peoples raises significant concerns that must be addressed and investigated by prospective residents. Contacting the management directly is crucial to obtain detailed information about residency requirements, community features, and the park's commitment to fair and equitable practices for all potential residents.

Sep 17, 2024 · N SBeautiful place to live. Very quiet and peaceful. Neighbors are awesome! Rent is a bit pricey!
Dec 09, 2016 · llamamama777We moved here from New Jersey 5 months ago, November 2015, and absolutely love it! Had looked at about 8 manufactured home parks in the area from Federal Way to Shelton but this one was clearly head and shoulders above the rest. It is a gated community amidst the PNW pines at the end of a street which gives it privacy while being right off main roads like Capitol Way and I-5. Has a woodsy feel even though just about anything you might want is only about 5 minutes away. The properties are meticulously maintained and the residents are very friendly and helpful. We are home.
Apr 19, 2016 · David KellyHave visited twice. The lawns are very well maintained and yards/roads are free and clear of trash. People who live there are extremely friendly.
