Toccoa RV Park & Campground Introduce
Welcome to Toccoa RV Park & Campground, located at 3494 Oak Valley Rd, Toccoa, GA 30577, USA. For local users searching for "RV parks near me" or looking for a place to camp in the Toccoa, Georgia area, Toccoa RV Park & Campground offers a mixed experience based on recent customer reviews. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the park's environment, services, and features, drawing directly from the feedback shared by visitors.
One reviewer, passing through for an overnight stay, highlighted both positive and negative aspects. They appreciated the park being responsive to their online inquiry when many others in the area did not offer online reservations or prompt responses. However, they encountered issues with their assigned "pull through" site not being as described and found maneuvering a 40-foot rig challenging. They were accommodated with a move to a longer pull-through site after calling. This same reviewer noted that the interior roads were "rough and narrow," and the park had "a lot of older campers," giving it more of a "trailer park feeling" than a traditional campground. They also felt the price of $47 per night was "quite high" and indicated they would not stay there again.
In contrast, another reviewer, who stayed for a few days while passing through, had a significantly more positive experience. They praised the prompt and professional communication with the owner, securing a same-day reservation. They found the campground to be "smaller but very quiet and safe," with "well maintained and clean" sites. They also noted that other campers were "friendly and helpful." This reviewer specifically mentioned the cleanliness and maintenance of the laundry facility and bathhouse, as well as the "fast and reliable" Wi-Fi. They described the owner, Jeremy, and his wife as "proactive, accommodating, and very friendly" and stated they would "absolutely recommend this campground" and plan to return.
Toccoa, Georgia, is situated in a scenic region of the state, close to the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The environment surrounding Toccoa RV Park & Campground on Oak Valley Road likely offers a degree of natural beauty and a quieter setting compared to more urban areas. However, the internal environment of the campground, based on the reviews, presents a somewhat contrasting picture.
One reviewer described the roads within the campground as "rough and narrow," which could be a concern for larger RVs or those with mobility issues. This suggests that the infrastructure might be older or in need of maintenance. The observation of "a lot of older campers" and the resulting "trailer park feeling" implies a significant number of long-term or permanent residents. This can influence the overall atmosphere of the park, potentially differing from the transient and recreational vibe often associated with campgrounds catering primarily to short-term visitors.
On the other hand, the second reviewer found the campground to be "very quiet and safe" with "well maintained and clean" sites. This positive feedback suggests that while the infrastructure might have some limitations, the management prioritizes cleanliness and safety within the individual camping areas. The smaller size of the campground, as noted by this reviewer, could contribute to the quieter atmosphere.
Based on the two reviews, we can gather information about some of the services and amenities offered at Toccoa RV Park & Campground:
- Full Hookups: Site #15 was mentioned as a full hookup, implying that at least some sites offer water, electricity, and sewer connections.
- Laundry Facility: Described as "maintained and clean" by one reviewer, indicating its availability and upkeep.
- Bathhouse: Also noted as "maintained and clean," providing essential facilities for campers.
- Wi-Fi: Reported as "fast and reliable," a significant amenity for travelers needing internet access.
- Pull-Through Sites: The park offers pull-through sites, although one reviewer experienced a discrepancy with the description of their initial site. The availability of longer pull-through sites to accommodate larger rigs was also mentioned.
- Responsiveness to Inquiries: The park was noted for being one of the few in the area to respond to an online inquiry, suggesting a degree of customer service.
The absence of mention of other common campground amenities, such as a camp store, recreational areas (playground, pool, etc.), or organized activities, suggests that Toccoa RV Park & Campground might focus on providing the essential services for a comfortable stay rather than extensive recreational facilities.
One of the key features of Toccoa RV Park & Campground appears to be its management. The positive reviewer specifically praised the owner, Jeremy, and his wife for being "proactive, accommodating, and very friendly," as well as for their prompt and professional communication. This suggests that the quality of management significantly contributes to a positive guest experience.
The smaller size of the campground, while potentially limiting in terms of extensive amenities, could contribute to a quieter and more intimate atmosphere. The friendly and helpful nature of other campers, as reported by one reviewer, suggests a welcoming community within the park.
However, the observation of "a lot of older campers" and the "trailer park feeling" by another reviewer indicates a significant long-term resident population. This could influence the overall ambiance and potentially the types of interactions visitors might have. While not necessarily negative, it's a characteristic that potential short-term visitors might want to be aware of.
The park's location in Toccoa provides access to the natural attractions and local amenities of the area. However, the reviews do not elaborate on specific nearby attractions or the convenience of the park's location relative to these.
Based on the positive aspects highlighted in the reviews, Toccoa RV Park & Campground could promote itself as:
- A Quiet and Safe Campground: Appealing to travelers seeking a peaceful and secure place to stay.
- Well-Maintained and Clean Facilities: Emphasizing the upkeep of sites, the laundry facility, and the bathhouse.
- Reliable Amenities: Highlighting the fast and dependable Wi-Fi.
- Friendly and Accommodating Management: Showcasing the proactive and helpful nature of the owner and staff.
- Responsive Communication: Indicating their attentiveness to inquiries and reservations.
- Suitable for Overnight Stays and Longer Visits: Catering to both transient travelers and those looking for a few days' stay.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me," Toccoa RV Park & Campground offers full hookup sites and appears to accommodate larger rigs, although it's advisable to confirm site suitability when booking. The positive feedback regarding cleanliness, safety, and management could be attractive to those seeking a comfortable and well-run park.
To address the concerns raised by one reviewer, the park might consider reviewing the accuracy of site descriptions online, especially regarding pull-through availability and ease of access for large RVs. Addressing any infrastructure issues, such as the condition of the roads within the park, could also improve the overall guest experience.
Potential visitors should contact Toccoa RV Park & Campground directly at (706) 886-2654 or +1 706-886-2654 to inquire about site availability, pricing, specific amenities, and any current promotions. It would be beneficial to provide details about the size of their RV to ensure they are assigned an appropriate site. Reading more recent reviews and potentially speaking with the management about the concerns raised in past feedback could also help prospective guests form a well-informed decision.
In conclusion, Toccoa RV Park & Campground presents a mixed picture based on the available reviews. While praised for its quietness, safety, cleanliness, friendly management, and reliable Wi-Fi, some concerns were raised regarding the condition of the roads, the accuracy of site descriptions, and the overall atmosphere due to a significant number of long-term residents. Local users should weigh these factors and consider their individual priorities when deciding whether to stay at Toccoa RV Park & Campground.

Toccoa RV Park & Campground Reviews
We were stopping in town for a quick visit with sister in law. We need somewhere for overnight. Most campgrounds here do not do online reservations, so you either call or fill out a request online and wait for a return call. This was the only park that actually responded. We are a big rig at 40 ft, which makes it difficult. We were assigned site #15, which was listed as a pull through. It was not a pull through, and the turn to get into the site was almost impossible with our rig. We did call and spoke with someone and asked about site 13, which was longer and was a pull through. She allowed us to move sites. We only hooked up to power it was a full hookup, but we were only there for one night. The road through the campground was rough and narrow. There are a lot of older campers here. Most look like permanent residents, giving more of a trailer park feeling instead of a campground. A price point of $47/night is quite high also. When coming back to the area, we will not stay here again.
Dec 11, 2023 · Nancy BentonMy wife and I were passing through Toccoa and needed a clean and safe spot to stay for a few days. Communication with the owner was prompt and professional with a same day reservation. The campground itself is a smaller campground but very quiet and safe. Sites are well maintained and clean. Other campers in the park were friendly and helpful. Laundry facility, and the bathhouse were maintained and clean. Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. Jeremy, the owner, and his wife were proactive, accommodating, and very friendly. I would absolutely recommend this campground. We will be back this summer!
Mar 15, 2025 · John TalfallI really love this campground. It is clean and affordable and has really great people around. It's a great place to stay long term and Mrs. Faye is the nicest owner. Very close to some amazing sites, local waterfalls and a few minutes from a boat and kayak launch.
Jun 04, 2018 · Jennifer M (Jen)We love it here! Faye is wonderful, the long term residents are friendly and helpful with info. Beware though if you want to go out for a night with your spouse there are NO BARS/TAVERNS for almost an hour in any direction. There’s every store you could ever think of, 4 auto parts stores, Walmart Home Depot harbor freight but no bars lol. There are shower houses here, Nothing fancy and a lil chilly but gets the job done. Bring toliet paper with you to bathrooms, some times they’re out. Also washer and dryer on sight as well. Spots are a bit tight in the third row at the park but really I can’t complain. I love it here. If it were just a bit warmer we’d stay here all winter long. It’s a great place. Send me any questions u have and I’d be willing to help anyway I can.
Nov 30, 2018 · Rock i FieldsQuiet, peaceful, no frills campground with great rates and awesome owner. Ms. Faye was super nice, super helpful, and lives on property making it easy to get in touch when needed. Park has 30 & 50 amp sites with full hookups for water and sewer. Bath house has a men and women's side with laundry facility in the middle and two shower stalls in each with hot water that lasted entire shower and then some. They do have free WiFi, but was not working during our stay and scheduled for repair the day we left. Beautiful property that used to be a working farm ran by Ms. Faye and her late husband that was perfect for giving the dogs an adventure. Lots of wildlife smells kept the pups excited, and since the trails were also the old farm roads it was easy enough to keep us humans in tow! They have very reasonable daily, weekly, and monthly rates, and not totally certain, but my guess is that most campers were long term or full time RVrs. Nevertheless, everyone we met was very friendly and welcoming. A great example being that we arrived after dark and within 5-10min had two guys come over and help us level out and hook up the camper. One of them even brought over spaghetti after we got set up so we wouldn't have to cook. They don't take credit or debit cards so make sure to plan on getting cash or writing a check before you get there. But town is only about 5min away with banks, Wal-Mart, gas stations, resturaunts, and anything else you may need. There's also instructions on how to pay/register it you arrive after hours. Could the park use some updating?...yes. have I seen parks better kept and more tidy?....yes. would I go back here again?...yes. I'm usually a bit more tough on rating criteria, but Toccoa RV Park gets 4 stars from me because of the owner, Ms. Faye, being so nice, accommodating, and readily available, as well as for the lasting hot showers, and peace and quiet with nobody looking down their nose, creating drama, peeking out blinds trying to size up the new guy, or otherwise bothering us. So If you're looking for a resort type park with scheduled activities, game room, spit shined facilities, and all the ooh la la's and bells and whistles of the modern day camping vacation destination, then do yourself & everyone else a favor and book elsewhere. But if you want a quiet, no fuss kind of campground with full hookups, Wi-Fi, good rates, close to town, and people leave you alone unless you need their help, then this campground is perfect. Hope this review helps in making your campground selection and wish you well on your journey! Thanks again to Ms. Faye, Brian, and Daniel for making our trip extra special...you rock!
