Walnut Creek RV Park Introduce
Welcome to Walnut Creek RV Park, located at 142 County Rd 5516, Troy, AL 36081, USA. For those searching for "RV parks near me" in the Troy, Alabama area, Walnut Creek RV Park presents itself as an economical option, particularly for travelers needing basic services at a low cost or those in need of immediate or temporary longer-term accommodation. Based on the available customer reviews, the park offers a unique blend of natural beauty and budget-friendly pricing, alongside a generally positive experience with the owner and staff.
One of the standout features mentioned in the reviews is the park's picturesque setting, with at least some sites offering direct views of a lake. One visitor who stayed for a single night appreciated being parked "directly across from the lake," highlighting the potential for a beautiful and scenic environment. This natural beauty can be a significant draw for those who enjoy waterfront views and a tranquil atmosphere during their RV stay. The opportunity to wake up to a lake view can greatly enhance the camping experience.
However, this scenic backdrop is juxtaposed with observations regarding the upkeep of some areas within the park. The same reviewer noted "pleanty of junk" and that "many long term residants have piled up, rusted out junk piled up outside." This suggests that while the natural surroundings may be appealing, the aesthetic of some individual long-term resident sites might detract from the overall visual appeal of the park. Potential visitors who prioritize a pristine and uncluttered environment should be aware of this aspect.
Despite the presence of accumulated items on some sites, the owner and staff at Walnut Creek RV Park are consistently described as "friendly." One reviewer specifically mentioned, "Owner/staff are friendly," indicating a positive interpersonal experience with the park's management. Additionally, another reviewer shared a heartfelt story of needing immediate housing and being accommodated by "Todd," who was "nice enough" to allow them and their elderly mother to move in quickly, even providing a cabin during a very cold Christmas period. This act of kindness speaks volumes about the compassion and helpfulness of the management at Walnut Creek RV Park.
The pricing at Walnut Creek RV Park is explicitly mentioned as "dirt cheap" by one reviewer. This affordability makes it an attractive option for budget-conscious travelers or those needing a cost-effective place to stay for essential services. The reviewer who stayed overnight specifically mentioned needing a "cheap place to dump, refill, and rest," and found that Walnut Creek RV Park successfully "filled a need." This highlights the park's utility for travelers requiring basic RV services without incurring high costs.
Despite the noted clutter on some long-term sites, the reviewer who stayed overnight also mentioned that they "never felt unsafe." This is an important consideration for any traveler, and the feeling of safety contributes positively to the overall experience, especially when staying at a budget-friendly location. This suggests that while the aesthetics might not be perfect, the park provides a secure environment for its guests.
The reviewer who stayed for a night offered a balanced perspective, acknowledging the drawbacks ("junk") but also appreciating the value ("dirt cheap price," "beautiful lake view") and the fulfillment of their needs. They concluded that "If I were in that situation again, I would certainly stay again," indicating that the positive aspects, particularly the affordability and the lake view, outweighed the negatives for their specific needs.
The experience of the second reviewer, who needed immediate housing, further illustrates the potential for Walnut Creek RV Park to serve as a crucial resource for individuals in urgent situations. The willingness of the owner, Todd, to provide temporary accommodation in a cabin during a critical time showcases a level of care and community support that goes beyond typical RV park services.
Based on the available reviews, Walnut Creek RV Park appears to cater to a diverse range of needs, from overnight stays requiring basic services on a budget to longer-term residents seeking an affordable living situation, and even providing crucial assistance to those facing housing emergencies. The park's environment offers the potential for scenic lake views, although some areas may have accumulated personal belongings from long-term residents.
Information regarding specific amenities beyond the basic hookups (dumping, refilling mentioned) is limited in the reviews. It is not explicitly stated whether the park offers facilities such as laundry, restrooms, showers, Wi-Fi, or recreational areas. Potential visitors should contact Walnut Creek RV Park directly to inquire about the availability of these and other amenities that might be important for their stay.
Similarly, no specific promotional information is mentioned in the reviews. However, the "dirt cheap" pricing can be considered an inherent promotional aspect for budget-conscious travelers. The positive experiences shared regarding the friendly owner/staff and the beautiful lake view also serve as indirect endorsements for the park.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" who prioritize affordability and a potentially scenic location, Walnut Creek RV Park is worth considering. However, it is important to be aware of the possibility of cluttered surroundings on some long-term sites. The friendly and helpful owner/staff seem to be a significant asset, and the park appears to provide a safe environment for its guests. To obtain detailed information about site availability, specific amenities, and any current rates or long-term stay options, interested individuals should contact Walnut Creek RV Park directly at (334) 592-1220 or mobile phone +1 334-592-1220.
In conclusion, Walnut Creek RV Park in Troy, AL, offers a budget-friendly option for RV travelers and long-term residents alike. Its potential for beautiful lake views is a significant draw, although some areas may exhibit clutter from long-term residents. The owner and staff are consistently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness, even going above and beyond in emergency situations. While specific amenities are not detailed, the park serves as a functional and affordable place to stay, particularly for those needing basic services or immediate accommodation. Walnut Creek RV Park Reviews
We were parked directly accross from the lake for just one night. I didn't see any loose dogs but there was pleanty of junk. Many long term residants have piled up, rusted out junk piled up outside. The lake view was so beautiful but if I opened the blinds, l also had to look at all that trash. Owner/staff are friendly, the price is dirt cheap, l never felt unsafe. We needed a cheap place to dump, refill, and rest, it filled a need and we're greatful. If it were cleaned up, it would have cost too much. One mans trash is anothers treasure. If I were in that situation again, I would certainly stay again.
Jan 07, 2023 · Sandra SergentWe needed a place to live fast. Todd was nice enough to let me and my elderly mom move in immediately at Christmas of 22. God bless them bc it was super cold and gave us a cabin to stay in within 1 day. We were homeless and God touched Todd's heart to let us have a place temporarily.
Feb 15, 2023 · Will LudlamStayed for 2 nights. Quiet. Overnight parking sites nothing to write home about but the long term sites are beautiful. Lots of empty RV sites great laundry facility. Super friendly people. Oh and make sure you hook up a pressure regulator for the water or you'll have busted lines for sure. Lake front and dog run friendly.
Mar 03, 2020 · Lisa E JordanDisplaced from Florida During hurricane Irma. These are the best people ever. Discounted rates, held the spot without a deposit. We left Florida in our RV not knowing what we'd find. We we're blessed to have found Walnut Creek Campground. Very gracious and compassion for all 150+ evacs. They treated us like family. The campground is clean and quiet. Loved it!
Sep 14, 2017 · Janice CanterburyThis park is very clean and pretty. The owner is kind and hospitable. He is also very diligent about making sure that the facilities are well kempt and that quiet hours are observed. We've also had a lot of fun doing some catch and release bass fishing in the gorgeous lake out back!
