Located at 2398 Farm to Market Rd 1235, Merkel, TX 79536, USA, Windmill RV Park provides essential amenities and a quiet atmosphere, making it suitable for both short and potentially longer stays. You can reach them at (325) 928-0009 or their mobile number, +1 325-928-0009, for inquiries and bookings.
Based on recent customer feedback, Windmill RV Park is appreciated for its tranquility and cleanliness. One guest described it as "a nice quiet place," which can be a significant draw for those seeking a peaceful environment. The park also receives positive remarks for the upkeep of its facilities. The laundry room is noted as "very clean," and the showers and bathrooms are also highlighted for their cleanliness. This attention to hygiene is a crucial aspect for a comfortable RV stay.
In terms of practical amenities, Windmill RV Park offers the essentials for a comfortable experience. The presence of three dumpsters indicates attention to waste management, which is important for maintaining a clean environment. Furthermore, the park provides essential utilities such as WiFi, lights, water, and sewer hookups, ensuring that guests have access to necessary services during their stay. The availability of WiFi is particularly valuable for travelers needing to stay connected for work or personal reasons.
Windmill RV Park is also described as "dog friendly kid friendly," making it a potentially suitable option for families and those traveling with pets. This inclusive approach can be a significant advantage for a wide range of RVers looking for a welcoming place to stay.
One reviewer mentioned staying at Windmill RV Park while working with the IBEW on a Facebook data center project for AI, noting that the campground is conveniently located just 17 minutes from that work site. This highlights the park's suitability for those visiting the area for work assignments, providing a relatively short commute to specific locations.
However, it's important to consider all aspects of the feedback to provide a balanced introduction. One guest noted that the park seemed to be primarily occupied by people working in the area, with approximately 25% occupancy by workers. This guest believed they were the only traveler at the time of their stay. While this isn't necessarily a negative, it provides insight into the typical demographic of the park's occupants.
This same reviewer also mentioned that their pad was "not level but on a raised area" and described the terrain as "all dirt and gravel in an industrial area." This suggests that while the park offers essential services, the physical environment might be more utilitarian than scenic. The description of being in an "industrial area" could be a factor for some travelers to consider based on their preferences for surroundings.
Another point raised by this reviewer was the lack of on-site office presence. They stated, "No one in office so you have to call for anything you need." This implies that while assistance is available via phone, there might not be immediate in-person support. This is important for potential guests who prefer or require direct, face-to-face interaction with park management.
Despite these points, the reviewer did acknowledge positive aspects, stating "Good WiFi, laundry and restrooms." This reinforces the earlier feedback about the cleanliness of the facilities and the reliability of the WiFi service, which are significant positives.
Considering the available information, Windmill RV Park offers a no-frills, functional stay with a focus on cleanliness and essential amenities. Its quiet atmosphere and pet-friendly, kid-friendly policies make it potentially appealing to a range of RVers. The proximity to work sites, as mentioned by one reviewer, could be a significant advantage for those visiting the area for employment.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" that prioritize practicality and quietness over extensive recreational facilities or scenic views, Windmill RV Park presents a viable option. The provision of free WiFi, clean laundry, showers, and bathrooms, along with water and sewer hookups, covers the fundamental needs of most RV travelers.
In terms of promotional information, Windmill RV Park's strengths appear to lie in its quiet environment, cleanliness, and essential amenities. It could appeal to those working in the vicinity, families with children and pets, and travelers who prioritize functionality and peace over resort-style features. While specific promotional offers are not mentioned in the reviews, the park's consistent provision of clean facilities and necessary utilities serves as a key selling point.
To summarize the key aspects of Windmill RV Park:
- A quiet and peaceful atmosphere.
- Very clean laundry room, showers, and bathrooms.
- Essential amenities provided: WiFi, lights, water, sewer.
- Dog-friendly and kid-friendly policies.
- Potentially convenient location for work sites in the area (e.g., 17 minutes from a Facebook data center project).
- Three dumpsters for waste disposal.
Potential considerations for guests include the possibility of an unlevel parking pad, the dirt and gravel terrain in what is described as an industrial area, and the lack of a постійно staffed on-site office, requiring phone contact for assistance. However, the consistently praised cleanliness and provision of essential amenities like reliable WiFi make Windmill RV Park a practical choice for many.

Windmill RV Park Reviews
It’s a nice quiet place. The laundry room is very clean, the showers and bathrooms are very clean, they have 3 dumpsters. They also provide WiFi, lights, water, sewer. Dog friendly kid friendly. We are here with the union ( IBEW) to do a Facebook data center for AI and this campground is 17 minutes from that work site.
Mar 19, 2025 · FunTimesThe park is about 25% full of people who work. I think I was the only traveler. Pad was not level but on a raised area. All dirt and gravel in an industrial area. No one in office so you have to call for anything you need. Good WiFi, laundry and restrooms.
Oct 12, 2021 · LeapfrogI moved in to windmill RV park the 17th of this month. And I'm letting people know that this is a good place to park your camper. The bathrooms are clean. The laundry room is clean and the people that run the place work here all the time.
Oct 07, 2024 · Barbara LedfordThere are no amenities most of the time. The place is rarely mowed which causes bugs to come in. Grasshoppers, wolf spiders (big as my hand) and roaches are outside and fly in. The dumpster is always full and they will even ask you not to put much in. When I had family visit, they actually went and asked if they were moving in and needed to charge more. The internet never worked. I was told they would either fix it or deduct the money I had to pay for internet off the rent. Neither happened. My payday falls after the rent was due sometimes. I paid my late fees with no problem on those times. They raised my rent anyway and I had to drive out of town for laundry because the few washers and shower room always have something wrong. They tried to charge me for a month when I wasn't there even the full half of the month. The owner seemed really nice the few times we spoke. I'm not sure he knows what all is going on with the management. Either way, you should not promise amenities that can't be utilized.
Jul 19, 2024 · Kimberly BolandStayed one night and it was great! A lot of room for our 42’ fifth wheel and truck. Nice large lots. Good location. Easy on and off from the interstate. Will definitely stay again if ever in the area.
