Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Columbus North Introduce
Located in Mt. Gilead, Ohio, Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Columbus North, situated at 4185 Township Rd 99, Mt Gilead, OH 43338, USA, is a family-focused RV park known for its extensive amenities and activities designed to entertain guests of all ages. For local users searching for 'RV parks near me' that offer a wide array of recreational opportunities, especially for families with young children, Jellystone Park at Columbus North presents itself as a highly-rated destination. However, recent customer reviews provide valuable insights into both the positive aspects and a significant concern regarding the park.
One overwhelmingly positive review comes from seasonal campers who express immense satisfaction with their experience. They describe the campground as "so well run, always clean, and surprisingly quiet at night, even with all the fun going on during the day." This highlights the park's efficient management and commitment to maintaining a clean and peaceful environment during evening hours, despite the daytime activity levels. The review emphasizes the abundance of features catering to young families, including "the pools, jumping pad, playgrounds, golf cart rides, themed activities." The campers particularly enjoy "creeking, catching crawfish, and fishing," indicating opportunities for nature-based exploration and fun. Ultimately, they describe Jellystone Park as their "happy place," where they can "slow down and truly reconnect as a family," and express their eagerness to return regularly.
Another review echoes the positive sentiments regarding the amenities and activities, stating, "The amenities were really great for kids and there was so many activities for the kids." The reviewer also specifically appreciated the "golf cart rental," which is a common and enjoyable way to navigate larger campgrounds and add to the family fun. However, this review raises a significant concern: "The natural gas small in some parts of the campground was really overwhelming." The reviewer noted this smell particularly "down by the creek/ jumping pad and around some of the campsites" and could detect it upon arrival. The intensity of the odor was such that they were unsure if they could have stayed had their campsite been closer to the source. While the cause of the smell was unknown to the reviewer, it was a "little concerning" due to the presence of small children. Despite this serious issue, the reviewer concluded that they had an "overall good stay" because their children greatly enjoyed the park.
Considering the category "RV parks near me," Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Columbus North clearly caters to families seeking a resort-style camping experience with numerous activities and amenities. The positive reviews highlight the park's strengths in providing a fun-filled environment for children and a well-managed overall experience. The mention of pools, a jumping pad, playgrounds, themed activities, and golf cart rentals aligns with the expectations of a family-oriented RV resort. The opportunities for creeking and fishing add a natural element to the recreational offerings.
However, the reported natural gas smell is a significant issue that potential visitors must be aware of. While one reviewer still had a positive overall experience, the presence of such an odor raises safety concerns and could detract significantly from the enjoyment of the stay for others. It is crucial for the park management to address and resolve this issue to ensure the well-being and comfort of all guests. Local users considering this park should inquire about the current status of this reported gas smell before making a reservation.
Based on the positive review, the environment of Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Columbus North is generally well-maintained and clean. The mention of creeking and fishing suggests a natural setting with water features. The park is described as being "packed" with activities, indicating a lively and engaging atmosphere during the day. The fact that it is "surprisingly quiet at night" is a significant benefit for those seeking restful sleep after a day of fun.
The services and features of the park appear to be extensive, catering primarily to families. These include:
- Multiple pools for swimming and water-based fun.
- A jumping pad, a popular attraction for children.
- Playgrounds offering various types of play equipment.
- Golf cart rentals for convenient transportation and leisurely rides.
- Themed activities, suggesting organized events and entertainment.
- Opportunities for creeking, likely involving exploring a shallow stream.
- Fishing, indicating the presence of a fishable water body.
- Well-run and clean facilities.
The mention of being a "private campground" and the cost for visitors ($20 per person) indicates that there may be additional fees beyond the campsite rental. This is a common practice in privately-owned campgrounds with extensive amenities and services.
Promotional information for Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Columbus North would likely emphasize its family-friendly atmosphere, the wide range of activities available for children, and the well-maintained facilities. The positive reviews highlighting the fun for kids, the cleanliness, and the opportunities for family bonding would be key selling points. The seasonal campers' description of it as their "happy place" is a powerful testimonial.
However, any promotional material should also transparently address the reported natural gas smell and assure potential guests of the measures being taken to ensure their safety and comfort. Ignoring such a significant concern could lead to negative experiences and damage the park's reputation in the long run.
In conclusion, Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Columbus North in Mt. Gilead, Ohio, offers a compelling destination for families seeking a fun-filled RV camping experience with numerous amenities and activities for children. The park is praised for its cleanliness, efficient management, and the wide range of recreational opportunities, including pools, a jumping pad, playgrounds, golf cart rentals, themed events, creeking, and fishing. However, a recent review raises a serious concern about a natural gas smell in certain areas of the campground. Local users searching for 'RV parks near me' should weigh the extensive family-friendly offerings against this reported safety issue and are strongly advised to inquire about the current status of the gas smell when contacting the park at (419) 946-5230 or +1 419-946-5230 before making a reservation.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Columbus North Reviews
We’re seasonal campers at Jellystone Columbus North and truly can’t say enough good things about it. The campground is so well run, always clean, and surprisingly quiet at night, even with all the fun going on during the day. It’s packed with everything a young family could want — the pools, jumping pad, playgrounds, golf cart rides, themed activities, you name it. We especially love spending time creeking, catching crawfish, and fishing. But what makes it really special is how it helps us slow down and truly reconnect as a family. It’s our happy place, and we look forward to coming back every weekend.
May 02, 2025 · Susy LopezI really like this campground . The amenities were really great for kids and there was so many activities for the kids . The golf cart rental was also really nice . HOWEVER . The natural gas small in some parts of the campground was really overwhelming . Down by the creek/ jumping pad and around some of the campsites . I could smell it as soon as we drove into the park and if our campsite had been closer, I don't know that we could of stayed. I'm not sure what was causing it but it was a little concerning to me with small kids. It's a private campground so it is a little pricey, we were going to have visitors but it was 20$ per person. Overall we had a good stay though, the kids really enjoyed it.

The wit bit inflatables, water slide, chocolate slip in slide, foam pit, and bounce pad were just a few of the many fun activities that the entire family enjoyed! The park and cabins were very clean and well taken care of. Wonderful customer service; the staff were beyond nice and helpful. It is highly recommended.
