Beyonder Getaway at Sleepy Hollow Introduce
For local residents in Oxford, Iowa, and the surrounding communities seeking a "camping near me" experience, Beyonder Getaway at Sleepy Hollow, located at 3340 Black Hawk Ave NW, Oxford, IA 52322, USA, presents a campground with contrasting recent reviews. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the environment, services, and features of Beyonder Getaway at Sleepy Hollow based on the available customer feedback, highlighting both the positive and negative experiences reported by visitors to help local users make informed decisions.
The environment at Beyonder Getaway at Sleepy Hollow appears to offer a mix of tranquility and activity. One reviewer described the campground as "quiet (but nice and lively on the weekend)," suggesting that it provides a peaceful atmosphere during the weekdays while offering a more vibrant social scene on weekends. This could appeal to different types of campers seeking either relaxation or a more energetic camping experience. The presence of a "fishing pond" is also noted as a positive environmental feature, offering opportunities for leisurely fishing and enjoying the waterfront scenery. Additionally, the mention of ducks suggests some natural wildlife around the campground, which can enhance the outdoor ambiance.
However, a significant concern raised by one reviewer pertains to the cleanliness of the bathhouse facilities. This camper stated unequivocally, "If you are going to need to use the bathhouse DO NOT stay at this campground!! The most disgusting bathhouse I have ever been in. Multiple toilets filed with feces. The floor is flooded with water. Covered in dirt, mud, and hair. For the three weeks we were there the bathhouse never got cleaned." This is a serious indictment of the hygiene of a key amenity and should be a major consideration for potential visitors who rely on campground bathhouse facilities. In stark contrast, another reviewer described the campground as "clean," indicating a significant discrepancy in the reported cleanliness levels. This inconsistency makes it difficult to provide a definitive assessment of the overall cleanliness of the campground and its facilities.
In terms of services, one positive aspect mentioned is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The reviewer who reported a great stay specifically noted, "Staff was friendly and helpful." This suggests that campers can generally expect positive interactions with the campground personnel. Another service-related aspect highlighted is the ease of getting around the campground with a golf cart, implying that golf carts are either permitted or available for rent, which can be convenient for navigating the grounds, especially for those with mobility issues or larger campsites.
Conversely, one reviewer reported a negative experience regarding water hookups. They stated that after a couple of days, the water wouldn't turn on and that the office informed them that they were aware of the issue before the camper arrived but did not notify them. This lack of communication and the inconvenience of a non-functional water hookup are significant drawbacks for campers relying on this service. The reviewer also mentioned that the shower in the bathhouse had a very short water duration ("times out around 30 seconds") requiring continuous button pressing, which could be an unpleasant and inconvenient experience.
The features of Beyonder Getaway at Sleepy Hollow include the fishing pond, which is a notable recreational amenity. The campground's layout appears to be conducive to golf cart usage, suggesting potentially spacious sites or a relatively large area to navigate. The contrasting reviews highlight a potential duality in the campground's atmosphere, being quiet during the week and more lively on weekends, catering to different preferences. The presence of ducks adds a touch of nature to the environment.
However, the severely negative review regarding the bathhouse cleanliness is a major feature that potential visitors must consider. If the conditions described are accurate and persistent, it would significantly detract from the camping experience for those needing to use these facilities. The reported issue with the water hookup and the lack of proactive communication from the office also raise concerns about the reliability of essential services.
The positive review mentioning a "great stay" and highlighting the quiet weekdays, lively weekends, fishing pond, easy golf cart navigation, and friendly staff suggests that some campers have had enjoyable experiences at Beyonder Getaway at Sleepy Hollow. The location is also mentioned as being convenient for exploring nearby spots, indicating potential access to local attractions and amenities outside the campground itself.
Currently, there is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. Local users interested in Beyonder Getaway at Sleepy Hollow should contact them directly at the provided phone numbers, (319) 628-6900 or +1 319-628-6900, to inquire about current rates, availability, specific amenities at campsites (e.g., water, electric, sewer hookups – though sewer is not mentioned in reviews), and to get clarification on the conflicting reports regarding bathhouse cleanliness and water service reliability. It would be wise to ask for recent updates on the condition of the facilities and any measures being taken to address the issues raised in the negative review.
In conclusion, Beyonder Getaway at Sleepy Hollow near Oxford, IA, presents a campground with both positive and concerning aspects based on recent customer feedback. The quiet weekdays, lively weekends, fishing pond, and friendly staff are potential draws for local "camping near me" seekers. However, the severely negative report regarding the bathhouse cleanliness and the issue with the water hookup are significant red flags that should not be ignored. The contrasting positive review suggests that experiences may vary. Therefore, local users are strongly advised to contact the campground directly to seek clarification on these conflicting reports and to inquire about the current condition of the facilities and services before making a reservation to ensure it meets their standards for a comfortable and enjoyable camping experience.

Beyonder Getaway at Sleepy Hollow Reviews
If you are going to need to use the bathhouse DO NOT stay at this campground!! The most disgusting bathhouse I have ever been in. Multiple toilets filed with feces. The floor is flooded with water. Covered in dirt, mud, and hair. The shower water times out around 30 seconds. You have to keep pushing a bottom. For the three weeks we were there the bathhouse never got cleaned. After a couple days of being at the campground we went to hook up water (waited for the cold snap to be done) it wouldn't turn on. We contacted the office and she said that she knew it would be before we showed up. Why would you not call and tell us before we show up???? The good is that people keep to themselves and there are ducks. That's pretty much it.
Mar 11, 2025 · Madison BakerWe had a great stay at Beyonder Sleepy Hollow! The campground was quiet (but nice and lively on the weekend), clean, and super relaxing. Loved the fishing pond and how easy it was to get around with a golf cart. Staff was friendly and helpful, and the location made it easy to explore nearby spots. We'll be back.
Mar 31, 2025 · Dan SmithStaying here currently about to leave to another state finally. Sooo some sites are insane to even attempt to pull into especiakly for larger campers.. they have had constant issues with water during winter and an ice storm caused all there dead trees to break left and right and penatrated my roof.. Electric has been good.. leanient with extending stay.. people keep to themselves and do get some slight highway noise.. HOWEVER and I cant empashize this enough on how pissed it makes me.. with no written agreement or authorization they continously debit my payment card without my authorization. EVEN though I've called and told them to stop doing it or I'll report them for fraud.. they can send an invoice to your email as they've done before where you can simply pay under your own authorization.. but this lazy good for nothing management seems to think they are above respecting peoples right to authorize payments and just draft it instead of sending a simple invoice. Some people might take these kind of actions alot further legally. Edit** They replied and clearly courtesy goes over this guys head.. you send an invoice when payment is due.. a person pays the bill its that simple.. i never didn't pay within 24 hours of receiving an invoice.. its simple.. send it.. I pay it.. but to just not notify somone payment is due because staff or system is to lazy or bad to send invoice out and just draft peoples account.. thats not how you do business.
Mar 13, 2025 · Kris EllisThis place is a joke, pulled in here for the night and found ALL the sites are on the side of a hill. They expected me to go hill climbing with my 40ft coach and put it on a site that obviously would not fit a large coach on the side of a hill. The site they finally put me on had the sewer dump hole up the hill from the site. Not sure if they knew water does not run up hill. All the sites on this hill had the sewer dumps running up hill from the pad. The most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. Got my money back and went to the next park.
Apr 15, 2025 · Randy BenzPark has a lot of potential, and it appears like many new updates are being made. The trailer sites are not level, and our site wasn't big enough to comfortly accommodate out 38 foot 5th wheel and truck.
