Black Butte Lake and Dam Project Headquarters Reviews
Nice lake, not muddy, pretty rocks. No soap in bathrooms. We camped end of May, very hot, bring shade structures, lake was refreshing. A bit buggy. Overall very happy with our stay. Pics from sites 23 & 26.
Jun 08, 2021 · Esmeralda StewartI was here in early December, so it was empty. There were a total of about four other parties there. Talk about peaceful! And I actually caught fish, icing on the cake. There are numerous day activities there, and there's a nice five mile loop to hike or bike, just westof the CG. I was in site #35 and got decent Verizon reception. I can't remember if I got Sprint service...I don't think so. Even though it was deserted, the showers had hot water! The host Dave and local Ranger Amber were really nice.
Jan 01, 2020 · Glen San MarcosI mostly wanted to see the lake as it's been 30+ years since I can remember visiting. Pictures were taken from the boat ramp. Not a full review as it was just a quick sight seeing detour. The facilities that I observed were non existent (or not as noticeable) when I was younger
Jul 25, 2021 · Matthew HansenClean and seems to be safe. I noticed it was being patrolled when we were there. The lake was great and there were lots of camping spots. We just went for the day. Soga were allowed.
Jul 16, 2023 · Rhonda PadgettWhat a great little get-away from home & the daily routine. Was a little windy but whatever it's called "Mother Nature & Weather". Living in the city with all the hussle & hussle & noise it was a very quiet & restful place to stay. Someone else had left a bad review that if you are tent camping there is gravel - So what? I always lay out a plastic tarp a little bigger then my tent & on top of that goes a moving blanket so gravel is Not an issue at all. Stayed @ campsite #1 that had a beautiful overlook & view of Black Butte Lake. If you're a senior & have a Federal "America the Beautiful" card the over nite fee is half off. Actually I was told by a Ranger that All Army Corp of Engineers Recreation Campsites are 50% off as well. Regular price was $20 a nite w/discount was only $10.! Will definitely come back here again. I posted this review on 11/5/18.
