Camp Discovery Group Campground Introduce
Are you a local organization or business in the Red Bluff, California area searching for a unique "camping near me" venue for a group retreat or meeting? Camp Discovery Group Campground, located in Red Bluff, CA 96080, USA, presents itself as a potentially excellent option. While primarily designed for group use, it offers a range of features, including cabin rentals and boating access, making it suitable for various gatherings. However, it's important for local users to be aware of booking limitations and the restriction on swimming, as highlighted by visitor feedback.
A Prime Location for Group Events: Camp Discovery Group Campground appears to be specifically geared towards accommodating larger groups, as suggested by its name and a reviewer's positive experience hosting a "camp for a business meeting" there. This indicates that the facility is equipped to handle group activities and potentially offers amenities tailored to such events. Its location in Red Bluff, CA, makes it accessible for local businesses and organizations in the Northern California region seeking an outdoor setting for meetings, team-building exercises, or other group retreats. The helpfulness of the "parks department" in assisting with settling in further underscores the campground's focus on providing a smooth experience for group organizers.
Cabin Rental Options: A significant feature of Camp Discovery Group Campground is the availability of cabins. According to a review, these cabins are described as "nice and clean for the most part," which is a definite plus for groups seeking more structured accommodation than traditional tent camping. The reviewer also noted that the cabins have screens that go "halfway up," suggesting they offer a degree of ventilation and connection with the outdoors while still providing shelter. Cabin rentals can be particularly appealing for business meetings or groups where some participants may prefer a more comfortable and enclosed sleeping arrangement. The presence of cabins distinguishes Camp Discovery from more primitive campgrounds and adds to its suitability for organized group events.
Booking Considerations: A crucial piece of information for local users interested in Camp Discovery Group Campground is its popularity and the need for advance booking. A reviewer explicitly states, "It is hard to book so make sure you do it in advance." This indicates that the campground is in high demand, likely due to its suitability for group events and potentially its attractive facilities or location. Therefore, local businesses and organizations planning to use Camp Discovery should initiate the booking process well in advance of their desired dates to secure their reservation. This foresight is essential to avoid disappointment due to unavailability.
Campsite Characteristics: While the campground is primarily geared towards group use and offers cabins, there are also "sites" available. A reviewer noted that "The sites are a little small but they are nice." This suggests that in addition to the cabins, there are designated camping areas that might be suitable for tents or smaller camping setups. However, the comment about the sites being "a little small" is worth considering for groups that anticipate needing a lot of space for individual tents or equipment. Despite the size, the reviewer still found them "nice," implying they are well-maintained and pleasant.
Bathroom Facilities: Regarding bathroom facilities, the campground primarily offers "vault" toilets, with the exception of "one which some don't mind." Vault toilets are non-flush toilets that are common in more rustic or group-oriented campgrounds. The fact that there is only one non-vault toilet might be a consideration for groups with specific accessibility needs or preferences. However, the reviewer's comment that "some don't mind" suggests that the vault toilets are likely well-maintained and acceptable for many users.
Ideal for Boating, Not for Swimming: A key feature of Camp Discovery Group Campground is its suitability for those "with boats." This strongly implies that the campground offers access to a body of water, likely with a boat launch or docking facilities nearby. This could be a significant draw for groups that include boating or water-related activities in their plans. However, it's equally important to note that "No swimming allowed here." This restriction is a crucial piece of information for local users, especially those planning events where water recreation might be a consideration. The lack of swimming might be due to safety reasons, water quality, or other factors specific to the water body the campground accesses.

- Book Well in Advance: Due to high demand, early booking is essential to secure your desired dates.

Camp Discovery Group Campground Reviews
This is a great place to hold a camp for a business meeting! It is hard to book so make sure you do it in advance. The cabins have screen halfway up, but for the most part nice and clean. The parks department is very helpful and getting you settled in.
Apr 23, 2022 · Hanna SimonThe sites are a little small but they are nice. The bathrooms are all vault except for one which some don't mind. Would be great for those with boats but not for swimming. No swimming allowed here.
Jun 12, 2023 · Jace BarnettI'm not gonna lie there could be some things fixed. I know I noticed at least one light full of green water. It was mounted on the ceiling under the covered patio. Should have that fixed.
May 19, 2019 · Etienne LovejoyIf you ever want to have a camp-o- ree for scouts…this is the place lolIf not, I suppose it would be super nice for your family reunion or work retreat as well.
