Based on recent customer feedback, experiences at Red Bluff KOA Journey appear to be varied. One guest who stayed for the first time reported a "pleasantly surprised" experience, highlighting a "very nice welcome and great space." This positive initial impression suggests that the campground strives to provide a friendly and accommodating environment upon arrival. The reviewer also noted that "It is clear that this place moving up!" implying ongoing improvements or a positive trajectory in the campground's development and offerings. Their campsite was described as having a "wonderful space with a patio," indicating that some sites may offer enhanced outdoor living areas. Although the weather did not cooperate during their stay, they appreciated the extra space provided. A significant positive aspect for pet owners was the presence of "multiple dog walks" and "lots of room between spaces," suggesting a comfortable and accommodating environment for furry companions. This positive experience led the reviewer to state, "We'll be back!"
However, another guest's experience presents a contrasting perspective, ultimately leading to a strong recommendation to avoid the campground. This reviewer initially intended to stay for two nights and decided to extend their stay by two additional nights due to the initial quiet atmosphere. However, by the second morning, their opinion had drastically changed, and they were "ENTIRELY ready to leave." This shift in sentiment was attributed to "security concerns" and the "bizarre attitude" of the maintenance manager. The reviewer also expressed frustration with the office opening hours, noting a late 9 am opening time.
The primary issue for this reviewer revolved around the cancellation of their extended stay. After speaking with the manager, the clerk was supposed to cancel two extra nights. However, it was later discovered that only one night was initially canceled. When the reviewer went to the office to rectify the mistake before leaving, the clerk initially insisted it was the reviewer's error but subsequently realized her own oversight in forgetting to cancel the second night. The excuse given, "It's my Monday 🤷🏻♀️," was met with dissatisfaction by the reviewer, who pointed out the unprofessionalism and the illogical partial cancellation.
Adding to the negative experience was the lack of email confirmation for the cancellation of the second full-price extra night, even after the reviewer had checked out and left. This necessitated a follow-up call to confirm the cancellation. The reviewer's most serious concern involved security, as they stated, "...don't leave anything outside at your campsite; I was warned by multiple residents, and saw two young men riding their bikes around casing sites. Beware!!" This is a significant warning that potential guests should take into consideration. The fact that multiple residents reportedly shared this concern suggests a potential ongoing issue that visitors should be aware of and take precautions against.
The contrasting reviews indicate that while some guests have had positive experiences at Red Bluff KOA Journey, others have encountered significant issues related to customer service and security. It is important for potential local users searching for "camping near me" to weigh these different perspectives when considering this campground.

For local users searching for "camping near me," it is crucial to consider both the positive and negative experiences reported by other guests. While the campground may offer a pleasant stay for some, potential visitors should be aware of the reported security issues and potential inconsistencies in customer service and take appropriate precautions. Red Bluff KOA Journey Reviews
This was our first time staying here and we were pleasantly surprised! Very nice welcome and great space. It is clear that this place moving up! We had a wonderful space with a patio. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate, but we appreciate the extra space. I love that there are multiple dog walks, and lots of room between spaces. We'll be back!
Apr 01, 2025 · Paul BuchananMy first night of two here was quiet enough that I decided to extend by two days -- but by the second morning I was ENTIRELY ready to leave. I waited for the office to open (9am, really?) and spoke with the manager about security concerns, in addition to William the maintenance manager's bizarre attitude -- and the clerk was supposed to have canceled my TWO extra nights.Unfortunately my emails showed the clerk only cancelled one of the extra nights, and when I went to the office to check the mistake before leaving, she insisted it was my error -- but then she did in fact realize that she had forgotten to cancel the extra night. Her excuse? "It's my Monday 🤷🏻♀️"Ma'am it's literally everyone's Monday because it's Monday. Besides, what good would it be to cancel Monday night's stay but not Tuesday night?? Absolutely ridiculous! And I still haven't gotten email confirmation that the second FULL PRICE extra night was canceled, although I've already checked out and left. So: if you do stay, don't leave anything outside at your campsite; I was warned by multiple residents, and saw two young men riding their bikes around casing sites. Beware!!And I had to call back to confirm my second extra night was canceled, because they never emailed me about it.DON'T GO HERE.
Apr 08, 2025 · Emme KayNice campground the sites were good. My complaint is that they have two laundry facilities. In the first laundry facility, every machine has an out of order sign on it besides one.At the other building, every machine had an out of order sign except three. I hauled all of my things to each one and then had to go to town to find a facility to use. When I went into the front desk to ask about it, the lady couldn’t have cared less. . All she said was they are working on it.I said you should probably tell people when they check in that. There are no laundry facilities and she just shrugged her shoulders and said have a good day. Not at all the customer service I would expect.
Apr 04, 2025 · Lor TopIt's a Journey KOA! Beautiful, clean, level concrete sites! Awesome pool and pool house. Fountains, putting green, basketball court, horseshoe pits, hot tub. Just a really nice campground. Just 3 minutes off I-5, right on the Sacramento River. Freeway noise is minimal. Lots of food and stores close by. Friendly staff as usual!
Feb 11, 2025 · Chris JewellWe enjoyed our time at this KOA. It was easy to get to, and the spots were easy to get in and out of. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool and spa were in great shape. The spa was even hot. Bathrooms were well maintained, and the grounds were very nice. The only knock we had was some freeway noise, but it was not as bad as feared.
