Blodgett Campground, located at Blodgett Camp Rd, Hamilton, MT 59840, USA, might be the perfect destination for your next outdoor adventure. You can reach them at (406) 363-7100 or their mobile number +1 406-363-7100 for any inquiries, although as a free campground, reservations may not be applicable or necessary. Based on glowing reviews from fellow campers, Blodgett Campground stands out for its unbeatable mountain views, peaceful atmosphere, and unique offering of free camping.
The environment at Blodgett Campground is consistently described as stunning and awe-inspiring. One camper, initially planning a hotel stay, regretted their decision upon discovering Blodgett Campground, stating, "Looking for a campsite with an unbeatable view in the mountains? This is it... Amazing views! My boyfriend and I were speechless." This testimonial vividly portrays the visual splendor that awaits visitors, emphasizing the campground's prime location for experiencing the natural beauty of the Montana mountains. The sense of wonder and speechlessness suggests a truly remarkable and memorable setting.
Another reviewer echoes this sentiment, proclaiming, "wow!! this was the best campground I've ever stayed at!! beautiful beautiful views..." This enthusiastic endorsement further reinforces the exceptional scenic value of Blodgett Campground. The emphasis on "beautiful beautiful views" underscores that the visual appeal is a primary draw for visitors, making it a top choice for those seeking "camping near me" with picturesque surroundings.
Beyond the views, the campground offers a sense of tranquility and connection with nature. One reviewer notes that there are "only six sites (get there early!) so it was quiet." This limited number of campsites contributes to a more secluded and peaceful experience, ideal for those looking to escape the crowds and immerse themselves in the natural environment. The quiet atmosphere enhances the enjoyment of the stunning scenery and the overall camping experience.
Adding to the natural appeal, one review mentions "a creek to wade in and a nice hike." This suggests opportunities for recreational activities beyond simply enjoying the views. The presence of a creek offers a chance for cooling off and enjoying the sounds of flowing water, while a nearby hike allows campers to further explore the surrounding mountain terrain and potentially discover even more scenic vistas. These features enhance the overall appeal for those seeking "camping near me" that combines relaxation with outdoor adventure.
In terms of services and features, the information available indicates a relatively rustic camping experience, which is not uncommon for free campgrounds. One reviewer mentions, "There's a toilet but no water." This is an important piece of practical information for potential visitors, highlighting the need to bring their own water supply. The presence of a toilet, however basic, is a notable convenience. Another reviewer also mentions "bathrooms available," confirming the presence of toilet facilities, although the specific type or condition is not detailed.
A unique feature mentioned by one camper is the flexibility for RV or campervan owners. They noted, "...if you've got an RV or campervan (like I did) you can park it in the parking lot and stay." This suggests that even if the limited campsites are full, there may be an option for self-contained vehicles to stay in the parking area. However, it's important to note the lack of water hookups mentioned, so RVers would need to rely on their onboard water supply.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided, as Blodgett Campground is a free camping area. However, the overwhelmingly positive reviews emphasizing the "unbeatable" and "beautiful beautiful" mountain views serve as powerful word-of-mouth promotion. The fact that it's free is another significant draw that could be highlighted to attract budget-conscious campers searching for "camping near me." The quiet atmosphere due to the limited number of sites and the presence of a creek and hiking opportunities are additional selling points for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the Hamilton, MT region, Blodgett Campground offers a unique and highly recommended experience. The combination of breathtaking mountain views, a peaceful setting with limited sites, the allure of free camping, and the availability of a creek and hiking make it a compelling option for those seeking an immersive natural getaway. However, potential visitors must be aware of the limited facilities, specifically the lack of water, and the need to arrive early to secure one of the few campsites. The option for RV/campervan parking in the lot provides some flexibility for those with self-contained units.
To make the most of a visit to Blodgett Campground, local users should plan to bring their own water and any other necessary supplies for a rustic camping experience. Arriving early is crucial due to the limited number of sites. While the phone numbers are provided, they may be more useful for general inquiries rather than reservations for the free campsites. The emphasis on the stunning views and the overall positive experiences shared by previous campers suggests that the effort to secure a spot at Blodgett Campground is well worth it for those seeking a memorable "camping near me" adventure in the Montana mountains.
In conclusion, Blodgett Campground near Hamilton, MT, stands out as a free camping destination offering exceptional mountain views, a quiet atmosphere, and opportunities for hiking and enjoying a creek. While facilities are basic (toilet but no water), the overall experience, as described by enthusiastic campers, is overwhelmingly positive. For local users seeking an unforgettable and free "camping near me" experience in a breathtaking natural setting, Blodgett Campground is highly recommended, with the caveat of arriving early to secure a coveted spot.

Blodgett Campground Reviews
Looking for a campsite with an unbeatable view in the mountains? This is it. Bonus? It's free! Get there early though because there is very few spots. Although if you've got an RV or campervan (like I did) you can park it in the parking lot and stay. There's a toilet but no water. I stayed at a hotel the night prior. If I would have known about this campground I would have dismissed the hotel stay. Amazing views! My boyfriend and I were speechless.

Aug 04, 2019 · Lucy PotterIt's free, close to US 93 and Hamilton. Pit toilet but only water is the creek. Very nice hiking trail starts at the campground and more in the area.
May 21, 2023 · Will MacPheatSuch a beautiful scenic place right on the creek. Lots of shade from the trees and clean restrooms. Picnic tables and fire rings for those camping overnight.
Jun 14, 2022 · Roaming In My RVSmall site with about 5 areas to park RV/Camper with fire ring and bench. We were only passing through for 1 night but seems to have hiking trailhead beside site. Very friendly host, Chris, who comes to greet you. Bonus - it’s free!
