Wiffi is not very good, you have to pay for your site on line plus pay a extra $8.00 for the service. No rancher around and people from past left their garbage in the trails. Bathrooms were dirty and smelly. No showers you have to go to a different campground nearby and that is busy with a obese people with those four wheeler doom buggies and they think they run the place. And they take multiple spots for their sites. They don’t have their dogs on a leash either. We pulled in and 4 very large guys came over to see why we were there. F +++ - Houston & Carolynn

Looking for "camping near me" along the Oregon coast? Bluebill Campground, located at Horsfall Beach Rd, North Bend, OR 97459, USA, offers a smaller, potentially peaceful camping experience near the ocean. You can reach them at (541) 271-6000 or their mobile number +1 541-271-6000 for more information. Based on recent customer feedback, the campground presents a mix of positive and negative aspects that local users should consider.

Environment: Bluebill Campground is described by one reviewer as a "wonderful little campground" with just 18 sites, suggesting a more intimate and less crowded setting compared to larger campgrounds. The location is noted as "pretty and peaceful," with "nice private sites." A significant advantage is the "easy access to the beach," making it appealing for those who enjoy the Oregon coastline. The campground is also conveniently "close to town," offering potential access to local amenities. There is a lake nearby, with one reviewer mentioning a pleasant hike around it where they were not bothered by mosquitoes in the early evening on a sunny day.

However, the tranquility might be interrupted on weekends by the sound of ATVs operating on nearby dunes. While ATVs are not allowed within Bluebill Campground itself, their noise can be audible. Weekdays are reportedly much quieter, with one reviewer stating they often had the place to themselves during the week. This suggests that the environment can vary significantly depending on the day of the week.

One negative aspect mentioned by a different reviewer was the presence of garbage left on trails by previous visitors, indicating a potential issue with litter management or visitor responsibility. This is something to be aware of if you value pristine natural surroundings.

Services and Features: Bluebill Campground offers basic amenities, including a "vault toilet and fresh water." It's important to note that, according to one review, there are "no showers" within Bluebill Campground itself. Campers needing showers have to go to a different, nearby campground, which was described as busy. This lack of on-site showers is a significant consideration for longer stays.

All campsites at Bluebill Campground are "paved and level," which is a definite plus for setting up tents or parking RVs. Some specific sites, #13 and #14, are first-come, first-served, and if you secure one of these, you can stay for up to 14 days. For other sites, reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance, a policy that one reviewer found inconvenient. It was also mentioned that you could potentially stay in a reserved site until the actual reservation holder arrives.

One reviewer reported issues with the online payment system, stating that you have to pay for the site online plus an extra $8.00 service fee. Additionally, this reviewer found the bathrooms to be "dirty and smelly." Another concern raised was the poor Wi-Fi connectivity.

On a positive note, one reviewer described the "camp host" as "a great guy," suggesting that there is helpful staff present.

Mosquitoes: Mosquitoes are mentioned as a potential issue, particularly "in mornings and evenings and if the weather is gray and damp," especially during the mid to late June timeframe mentioned by one visitor. However, on a beautiful sunny day in the evening, they were reportedly not a problem during a lakeside hike. This indicates that the presence of mosquitoes can vary depending on the time of day and weather conditions.

Pricing and Discounts: The regular price for a campsite is mentioned as $22, which one reviewer felt was "too high for no hookups." However, with a Senior Pass, the price is half off at $11, making it a more attractive option for seniors.

Safety and Other Concerns: One concerning review described an unwelcoming encounter upon arrival, with "4 very large guys" approaching to inquire about their presence. This isolated incident might be an anomaly, but it's worth noting. The same reviewer also mentioned off-leash dogs at the nearby campground where showers are located.

Promotional Information: For local users seeking a smaller, potentially peaceful "camping near me" option with direct beach access, Bluebill Campground could be appealing, especially on weekdays. The paved and level sites are convenient, and the proximity to town offers some accessibility. If you have a Senior Pass, the half-price camping fee makes it quite affordable. The opportunity for lakeside hikes and the generally pretty environment are also draws. However, potential campers should be aware of the possibility of ATV noise on weekends, the lack of on-site showers, potential mosquito issues depending on the time of day and weather, and the reported problems with online payment, bathroom cleanliness, and Wi-Fi.

Before booking, local users might want to weigh the pros of a smaller, beach-adjacent campground against the cons mentioned in the reviews. If you value tranquility during the week and prioritize beach access over amenities like showers, Bluebill Campground could be a suitable choice. Consider bringing insect repellent and being prepared for potential noise on weekends. For seniors, the discounted rate offers good value. To get the most current information on conditions and policies, contacting the campground directly at (541) 271-6000 or +1 541-271-6000 is recommended.
