Oregon Dunes KOA Holiday Introduce
For our local community seeking the thrill of off-road adventures combined with the comfort of camping, look no further than Oregon Dunes KOA Holiday, conveniently located at 68632 US-101, North Bend, OR 97459, USA. You can reach them at (541) 756-4851 or their mobile number +1 541-756-4851 to plan your exciting getaway. If you're searching for "camping near me" that caters specifically to ATV and UTV enthusiasts, this KOA offers a unique experience with direct access to the renowned Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area.
The environment at Oregon Dunes KOA Holiday is geared towards outdoor adventure. As one reviewer aptly points out, this is a "dedicated ATV/UTV friendly spot for those of us who want to drive to the dunes from camp." Be prepared for some dust and the sounds of ATV traffic, as this is the nature of a campground catering to off-road vehicles. However, for those who come prepared for this environment, the convenience of riding directly to the dunes is a significant advantage. While one review mentioned the distance to the dunes from certain "H sites" being "almost a mile," another reviewer staying at site #36 found it convenient for accessing the dunes with their quads. It's advisable to inquire about site locations relative to dune access when making your reservation.
The services at Oregon Dunes KOA Holiday aim to provide a comfortable and convenient stay for adventure-minded campers. The staff is described as "friendly and very available," readily assisting guests with their needs. One instance highlighted their helpfulness in providing a "makeshift area to load one of our quads" when a guest encountered ramp issues. The campground offers a mix of camping options, including cabins and numerous "big rig" friendly pull-through sites, often occupied by families with their "toys" – ATVs and UTVs. Many sites, like #36, offer ample space for larger rigs, trucks, and multiple off-road vehicles, along with a "back patio" that remains accessible. You can expect essential amenities such as a picnic table and fire ring at your site. Importantly, many sites also feature full hookups, including septic, which can be a valuable feature for RV campers seeking "camping with hookups Oregon."
For pet owners, Oregon Dunes KOA Holiday is a welcoming destination. One reviewer traveling with three large dogs found the "dog park to be very convenient," especially considering the campground's gravel terrain, which isn't ideal for running dogs freely. The dedicated dog park provides a safe and enclosed space for your furry companions to exercise. The campground also offers practical amenities such as clean bathrooms and "clean and private" showers, although the showers operate on a token system (1 token per person for 8 minutes). While this might be different from unlimited showers, the reviewers found them adequate with hot water available.
A significant feature of Oregon Dunes KOA Holiday is the presence of "Steve's ATV" almost on-site. This proximity is incredibly convenient for ATV and UTV enthusiasts, as they offer a range of services and supplies that you might need during your off-roading adventures. This close relationship enhances the campground's appeal as a dedicated destination for dune riders.
While one reviewer expressed concerns about certain rules, particularly regarding "no outside firewood" and "no using accelerants to start fires," it's important to note that these regulations are often in place for safety and environmental reasons specific to the campground and the surrounding delicate dune ecosystem. While the requirement to purchase their firewood, described as "wet crappy overpriced firewood" by one reviewer, might be a point of contention, it's a policy to be aware of when planning your stay. It's always advisable to inquire about specific campground rules and policies beforehand to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.
Despite the differing opinions on certain rules, the overall sentiment from many visitors, particularly those who come specifically for the ATV/UTV access, is overwhelmingly positive. The campground fosters a community of like-minded individuals and families who enjoy "cooking, hanging around fires, playing with toys, and just enjoying the nice cool late summer weather." The friendly and available staff further contribute to a welcoming atmosphere.
In conclusion, if you're a local resident seeking "camping near me" with unparalleled access to the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area for ATV and UTV riding, Oregon Dunes KOA Holiday in North Bend is a prime choice. Its dedicated facilities for off-road vehicles, pet-friendly amenities, full hookup sites, and the convenience of Steve's ATV on-site make it a unique and valuable resource for our community's adventure seekers. While being mindful of the campground's specific rules and the potential for dust and noise is important, the direct dune access and the welcoming atmosphere for off-road enthusiasts make Oregon Dunes KOA Holiday a fantastic destination for your next local camping adventure. Contact them today at (541) 756-4851 or +1 541-756-4851 to book your site and experience the thrill of camping right at the dunes.

Oregon Dunes KOA Holiday Reviews
This place is cool but the owners are too greedy. My family started calling this place the kNOa just because of the sheer amount of signs prohibiting anything. No outside firewood. No using accelerants to start fires. No no no no no. What kind of place makes me buy their wet crappy overpriced firewood instead of letting me bring me own. On top of that, the actual dunes area is pretty far from the campground. We stayed in the H sites and it was almost a mile to get to the dunes. Super hard on our paddle tires. Great dune area, crappy hosts
Apr 10, 2025 · Jaeden BallWe LOVE this place. First off, let me say that if you come on here and write a 1-star review because of the dust or the noise/ATV traffic, the issue is you. This KOA is a dedicated ATV/UTV friendly spot for those of us who want to drive to the dunes from camp. The staff are friendly and very available, they even let us use a makeshift area to load one of our quads when we were packing up due to us having some issues with one of our ramps. While there are some cabins, this place is generally full of big rigs pulling toys. We were surrounded by other families cooking, hanging around fires, playing with toys, and just enjoying the nice cool late summer weather. We travel with 3 large dogs, and found the dog park to be very convenient, making it much easier to run the dogs especially considering the majority of this park is gravel and not grass. We had site #36 which is a pull-through site, we have about a 30ft rig and had plenty of room for the truck, several quads, and for the back patio to stay open without it being in the way of the road behind us. Picnic table and fire ring on site, and all hookups including septic which can be hard to find. The bathrooms are clean. The showers are clean and private (1 token per person for 8 minutes). We are used to "camp showers" that last 7 minutes, so I didn't mind. They are clean, private and have hot water and you can get it done in 8 minutes even with long hair. Steve's ATV is almost on site and they have anything you might need. Overall, can't wait to come back!!
Sep 04, 2024 · Samantha RamseyWe’ve stayed here many times over the years and have never encountered an issue. It seems like the park employees have become a little reticent in the their duties as of late. The bathrooms which should be cleaned daily were never cleaned in the 5 days we were there. The garbage overflowed to the point where I was picking up used paper towels and shoving them down to make room as they littered the floor. These facilities are used, and used often, park employees should be responsible to make sure that they’re cleaned often. You charge a premium for the use of the property, people should be able to use the restroom without seeing nastiness in the toilets. I’ve stayed at State Parks that were better kept than what this place offers.
Oct 16, 2024 · Merry MerryWe love the staff at the KOA and Steve’s ATV rentals. They go above and beyond to make sure guests are taken care of.
Apr 06, 2025 · krystal CordesWe have been staying at KOA for close to five years now was told about this place by friends of ours and now we turn other friends on to stay at KOA They have everything you need great camping spots. Always nice and very clean can have outdoor fires picnic tables, great hook ups, full septic water, electric Wi-Fi. The store might seem small, but has everything and even more, use washing machines which are great in case you have an emergency they have great showers. Bathroom is always clean if you want to get ready in the bathrooms they have a bouncy house for the kids a train ride small kids could ride their ATV motorcycles they also have a play area with swings And more we wouldn’t stay anywhere else this place is perfect
