Brown's Landing RV Park Introduce
For local RV enthusiasts and families seeking a picturesque "camping near me" experience along the shores of Lake Huron, Brown's Landing RV Park, located at 1187 Dyer Rd, Tawas City, MI 48763, USA, presents a compelling option. Praised for its well-maintained facilities, friendly owners, and excellent lakefront access, this RV park offers a blend of natural beauty and community warmth. While predominantly a seasonal park, transient visitors can also discover a true "hidden gem" for their lakeside getaways.
One of the most consistently highlighted aspects of Brown's Landing RV Park is its exceptional cleanliness. A first-time camper at the park enthusiastically reported that the "park and rest rooms are extremely well kept and clean." This emphasis on hygiene is a significant draw for many travelers, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant camping experience. Knowing that the facilities are meticulously maintained can provide peace of mind, especially for families with children.
The owners of Brown's Landing RV Park are also frequently commended for their welcoming and helpful demeanor. The same first-time visitor described them as "very nice," contributing to the overall positive atmosphere of the park. Friendly and approachable owners can significantly enhance the camping experience, making guests feel welcome and valued. This personal touch often leads to a more enjoyable and stress-free stay.
The location of Brown's Landing RV Park is another key feature that appeals to those seeking "camping near me" with waterfront access. The park boasts a "great shoreline," providing opportunities for various lakeside activities such as strolling along the water's edge, enjoying the views, and potentially engaging in water-based recreation. The lakefront setting also contributes to the overall tranquility and scenic beauty of the park, making it a desirable escape from inland areas.
Brown's Landing RV Park is described as a "perfect place to bring the Grandchildren to," indicating its family-friendly nature. The combination of a safe and clean environment, coupled with the appeal of the lake, makes it an ideal destination for intergenerational camping trips. The presence of a welcoming community, where "most of the park are seasonal people and everyone I have met is very nice," further enhances its suitability for families, fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie among guests.
The positive experiences of repeat visitors also speak volumes about the consistent quality of Brown's Landing RV Park. One guest, on their third visit, affirmed their agreement with "all the positive review about the amenities and location." This suggests that the park consistently delivers on its promises and maintains a high standard that keeps guests returning year after year.
However, one review also brought to light a potential consideration for prospective visitors. During one guest's stay, the park undertook a project to "dig gravel into the water to be able to put a boat in and launch them." While the intention may have been to enhance the park's amenities, the timing of the work – a Saturday morning in June – resulted in noise disruption for some campers, particularly those who had paid extra for lake view and beach access, seeking "peace and quiet." The reviewer noted the loud noise from tractor equipment and workers, which temporarily detracted from their ability to enjoy the serene lakeside environment. This incident serves as a reminder that even well-regarded campgrounds may occasionally undertake maintenance or improvement projects that could impact the guest experience. It also highlights the importance of communication between the park management and guests regarding any planned disruptive activities.
Despite this isolated incident, the overall sentiment towards Brown's Landing RV Park remains overwhelmingly positive, with the first-time visitor stating, "We will definitely be back." This suggests that the positive aspects of the park, such as the cleanliness, friendly owners, and lakefront location, generally outweigh any temporary inconveniences. The park's appeal as a "true hidden gem" indicates that it offers a unique and valuable experience for those seeking a lakeside RV camping destination in the Tawas City area.
For local users searching for "camping near me" that offers a well-maintained RV park with direct access to Lake Huron, Brown's Landing RV Park is certainly worth considering. The emphasis on cleanliness and a friendly, community-oriented atmosphere, particularly among the seasonal residents, creates a welcoming environment for both short-term and long-term stays. The great shoreline provides ample opportunity to enjoy the lake, and the park's family-friendly nature makes it an excellent choice for camping trips with grandchildren. While the potential for occasional maintenance-related noise exists, the overwhelmingly positive feedback suggests that Brown's Landing RV Park generally provides a peaceful and enjoyable lakeside camping experience.

May 24, 2023 · Maryann WalkerThis is our third time here and I agree with all the positive review about the amenities and location. This time the park decided it would be a good idea to dig gravel into the water to be able to put a boat in and launch them. They started at 9:15 and the loud tractor equipment awakened us. As of 12:00 they appear to be done. We paid extra to have lake view and beach and it was too loud workers yelling and equipment growling. Could not sit out and enjoy the view and breeze. Ironically we came here instead of state park for peace and quiet. I know they had to do the work sometime, but why on a Saturday morning in June as opposed to a Tuesday or before tourist season. It seems they are more concerned about using boats then the campers.. If we were told before we came that this would be happening we would not have made the effort.
Jun 10, 2023 · Jay KoThe guys (or guy) who runs this also does boat tours (I'm not sure if he has his own site for it, I can't find it anywhere). He took my mom and I, and another family out. Even though I found out I DO. NOT. Like big water boat rides, this way (lol) these guys were really nice. They took us out to see where the gypsum company's freighters used to dock -- we were supposed to go to a lighthouse but couldn't that day. I guess the guy's grandfather made all his boats, which is cool.My only suggestion would to make a site, and a sign for your boating tours. You just drive down a road into the RV park, and just trust this was the place.
