It has hiking trails, a trout pond, army fort, pirate ship, tipi village, shooting range, swimming pool, shower house, campgrounds, dining hall, outdoor pavilions, and several wide open fields. Always a great time at Camp Childress.
Jun 08, 2024 · Peter HansenThis is a great camp scouts, family or any corporate retreat. Pete the caretaker is awesome.
May 04, 2025 · Matt DresslaerBeautiful campground with lots of hidden treasures. We've camped here several times with cub scouts and I'm still finding new things to see and explore. The hike down to the spring is beautiful with a neat castle building the kids love to explore. On another hike we came across a cool pirate ship type structure to climb around. All of the stations were fun and we'll planned out. The campground we were at (Kaa) was a bit of a walk to the modern bathroom which even has showers, but our campsite did have an outhouse and sink with running water for washing hands and dishes. All and all a great weekend campout.
Apr 10, 2022 · Bethany StephensonThis is a really nice camp. It has been well cared for with many improvements over the years. Great for small groups of scouts or even large troops. There are woods to explore, a pirate ship, forts, and much more. The swimming pool wasn't in service when we went.
Dec 18, 2017 · Jeremy LourieWonderful family friendly area. Lots of things to do from camping to cabins. There is also a kitchen with a dining hall available to rent, along with a pool when the season is in.
