Waters Edge Campground Reviews
We really liked this campground on the banks of Shoal Creek. Great water access and friendly staff. Thanks John, Corbin, and Matt for a great stay! Several RV spots have 30amp power and water, but a few are in direct sun all day. Bath house could use improvement and removal of wasp nests, but overall this site is worth a visit. Close to a Dollar General (1/2 mile) for supplies as well as easy access to I-49 and Joplin, Neosho, or Carthage. Across the train tracks is a unique and classic bar and grill called Under the Cliff. Very relaxing. RV sewer dump available as well. July 4th fireworks display by campers was great!
Jul 08, 2022 · Duane HumlicekTook my son camping for his first time. Got a nice spot overlooking the creek. Staff at the front entrance were friendly and helpful! Campgrounds and restrooms were clean. Had a great time and it's close to town so really convenient in case you forget something (like I did). Some of the spots are close to the highway and you can hear the traffic all night, but it is what it is and didn't really bother me.
Jul 22, 2018 · Daniel ToddA fun laid back place for adults, kids, dogs and everyone. Water's nice and cold. Second time here and love it. Love the staff.
Jul 05, 2022 · Yvonne Shepherd.Waters Edge was a fun campground to visit, the pros of this campground are the regulars at the campground are welcoming and friendly. The campground was spread out enough where you could be secluded or engage with others. The camping sites are mostly on the waters edge which makes the name of this site legit. They have a bath house which has two toilets and a shower, they arent clean but it's a campground bathroom so i really didn't expect anything else. It was pretty standard. It was 10.00 to camp per night per person which was cheap and included the day fishing pass. The cons, the campsite sits right next to the highway, so you can see the traffic, so if solitude is what you are searching for this isn't the place, since you can always hear the traffic, the creek is dirty and trash liters the ground. The shower house/bath house is not very private so it's very easy for people to be peeping toms which is what i experienced once. I did come back two weekends in a row to get the full feel of the park. If you want a cheap camping trip and just a short float or a family day this would be a great campsite, but not for ones who want to actually be secluded or on an actual river and not a creek next to the highway.
