Camp Stonefly Reviews
What a fantastic place! Chris and Stacey, the hosts, are absolutely fantastic. I stayed there two nights with my 7 year old and his buddy. Chris and Stacey made sure every single detail was perfect. The entire campground is super clean with and the bathroom/shower is as well. We will be coming back to stay again!
Mar 07, 2025 · Bart MartindaleI am homeless and had two dogs. I paid for 3 nights and it was worth it. They were kind to me and my pets. Management offered two more nights if I worked around the campground. I had worked about 2 hours and they allowed me to stay two more nights. According to their pricing that’s about $30/hour. That was even more worth it considering how well everything went and how accommodating they were. I’m thankful for it. I had called them to offer my assistance for any availability after I had packed up and left. Management stated they would offer two more nights for work. They expressed how worried they were for me due to a storm coming as well, knowing I’m homeless. I was in the middle of finding my 2 dogs a home and driving around aimlessly when I called them. I had arrived and stated to them I was there. As I parked and rested a moment, someone who raises hunting dogs had contacted me about my dog Olga, who is a non-spayed female of an apparent hunting breed. I’ve heard Blue Tick, Beagle, and even a Spaniel (she’s a Collie mix so idk). I gave my daughter to them tonight and made that decision as I parked in Stonefly’s campground. I left and didn’t know what I was going to do. I just wanted her to have a proper home. I had asked later if the deal was still available and they said no. I don’t know why. I was upset. I haven’t slept well in over a week. I had called the owner and they acted like every corporate person you’d talk to, that’s all I’ll say. Management accused me of being on drugs. I’ve lost a lot to drugs and I’ve never even taken them. I don’t drink alcohol. I had stated management were drunks in my previous review before editing it. I was wrong for stating that; I disagree with how they treated me and their projection. They expressed how worried they were about people using or abusing them. I get it. But they had also called the police well after I had left and lied, stating I had trespassed. I was already gone by the time I texted them about finding my dogs a home. I don’t know what happened but I didn’t deserve this. They never even told me why they changed their minds so suddenly. It was late and camping there was the plan for me. I know it’s unorthodox, especially with their boss, but they promised and also made it seem like I was welcome. My advice to anyone reading this and interested in staying here: Don’t get chummy with management. Just pay your way and be done with them. They’re paranoid. I don’t blame them, honestly. I only blame them for how they treated me specifically when all my actions showed them I wasn’t some vagrant or con looking to take advantage like a lot of people around here. It was a nice view, though. Plenty of ducks and listening to the river at night was nice. I would’ve cleaned the trash from that island had they asked or gave me a chance to mention it.
Mar 16, 2025 · Christopher WeaverThis place was a hidden gem! We truly enjoyed the experience. Our campsite was tucked in and very quiet. Manager was very welcoming. Showers were wonderful! So glad we stayed!!! Hope to come back sooner rather than later!
Sep 12, 2024 · Jennifer DavisThis campground is a hidden gem in Tennessee! It is right by the river and absolutely beautiful. You can hear the birds and the rushing of the river. Chris and Stacey did a great job taking care of us from the moment we arrived. Me and my partner stayed there for just one night, and had such a relaxing experience! We bought there and build a cozy fire. Super relaxing! We are so grateful ♥️
Apr 14, 2025 · Bianca CandelariaThis is a great little campsite right on the river. Stacey and Chris, the new managers and onsite, were super friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely stay here again.
