Three stars for the camp itself because of the need for updating the gathering areas. They need to have more grass or bark to keep the dust from getting into everything. I give 5 stars for the experience my son and I had. The experience of 2800 boys not including the leaders was amazing serious I will go again if I have the chance, but I will be sure to bring a masks for all the dust next time - Benjamin Tullis

If you are searching for "camping near me" in the Diamond Lake, Washington area, Camp Sunrise, located at the coordinates 4QC5+RR, Diamond Lake, WA 99156, offers a unique camping environment, particularly known for hosting large group events. You can reach them at (509) 758-7575 or +1 509-758-7575 for inquiries, although specific booking procedures for large groups may vary depending on the event organizer.

Based on the limited customer reviews available online, Camp Sunrise appears to be a facility primarily geared towards accommodating large gatherings, such as those organized by the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). One reviewer specifically mentioned the "amazing" experience they and their son had with an event involving "2800 boys not including the leaders." This scale of accommodation suggests that Camp Sunrise is equipped to handle very large groups, making it a potential venue for similar organizations or events.

The same reviewer, while highly praising the overall experience of the large gathering, offered a more moderate rating of three stars for the camp itself. The primary reason cited for this rating was the "need for updating the gathering areas." Specifically, they mentioned the lack of sufficient ground cover, such as grass or bark, leading to dust issues. The reviewer noted that the dust could get "into everything," implying a potential discomfort or inconvenience for attendees, particularly during dry conditions with high foot traffic from a large group.

Despite this concern about the dust in the gathering areas, the reviewer's five-star rating for the overall experience underscores the positive impact of the event itself, suggesting that the program and the social interaction were highly enjoyable. This indicates that Camp Sunrise provides a setting conducive to successful large-scale events, even if some of the physical infrastructure could benefit from improvements.

The reviewer's intention to return if given the chance, coupled with the caveat to "be sure to bring a masks for all the dust next time," further highlights the significant positive aspects of the experience alongside the acknowledged need for dust control measures in the common areas.

Another brief review simply states, "My son loved it. Great place. Great job BSA." This concise feedback reinforces the positive experience, at least for participants in BSA-related events held at Camp Sunrise. It suggests that the camp provides a suitable and enjoyable environment for youth activities and programs.

Given the limited information, it is important to consider what remains unknown about Camp Sunrise. The reviews do not provide details about individual campsite availability or amenities for smaller groups or families who might be looking for a traditional "camping near me" experience. Information about the environment beyond the dust issue in gathering areas, specific services offered, additional features of the campground, or any promotional information is not available in these reviews.

To gain a more comprehensive understanding of Camp Sunrise, potential users should contact the facility directly using the provided phone numbers. Inquiries should focus on the types of camping accommodations available (e.g., tent sites, cabins), the amenities offered (e.g., restroom facilities, water access, recreational areas), any specific policies or rules, and the suitability of the campground for different types of groups or individual campers. If you are interested in hosting a large event, you would need to discuss the facilities and logistical support available for such gatherings.

For local users searching for "camping near me" for smaller groups or families, it is unclear from the current information whether Camp Sunrise regularly accommodates such bookings or if it primarily functions as a venue for pre-organized large events. The emphasis on a BSA gathering suggests that its primary focus might be on serving such organizations.

If you are part of a large organization looking for a venue for a camp or event near Diamond Lake, Washington, Camp Sunrise appears to have the capacity to host significant numbers of people and provide a setting conducive to positive experiences, as evidenced by the reviewer's feedback. However, it would be essential to discuss the condition of the gathering areas and any available dust control measures with the management during the planning process.

In conclusion, Camp Sunrise seems to be a campground primarily oriented towards large group events, particularly those affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America. It has facilitated memorable experiences for large numbers of attendees. However, potential users should be aware of reported issues with dust in the gathering areas due to a lack of sufficient ground cover. For smaller groups or individual families seeking "camping near me," more information would be needed to determine if Camp Sunrise is a suitable option and what amenities are available for general use. Contacting the campground directly is recommended to obtain detailed information relevant to your specific needs.
