For local users seeking a nearby camping experience with these features, Campbell Park could be an excellent choice. Let's explore the details gleaned from the feedback.
Environment: Family-Friendly with Water Features and Wildlife
Campbell Park seems to be set in a natural environment that appeals to a variety of interests. One of the highlights mentioned by a camper who visited with kids and grandkids in September is the "great spot for the kids to swim!" This suggests the presence of a safe and enjoyable swimming area, likely a significant draw for families during the warmer months. The same reviewer also noted the abundance of wildlife, including plenty of frogs and non-poisonous snakes, as well as birds like geese, Osprey, and Heron. This indicates that the park offers opportunities for nature observation and appreciation.
Another reviewer mentioned the ability to fish at a pond within Campbell Park. This adds another dimension to the recreational activities available, appealing to those who enjoy angling in a potentially more controlled environment. Additionally, this review notes that while you can fish at the pond in Campbell Park, camping and fishing are also possible at nearby Big Meadows, although it explicitly states that there is no swimming at Big Meadows. This suggests that Campbell Park might serve as a base for exploring the broader area, with different locations offering varying activities.
The overall impression of the environment is one that is conducive to family outings, with features like a swimming spot for children and the chance to observe local wildlife. The proximity to Big Meadows also expands the potential for outdoor experiences, particularly for those interested in fishing in a different setting.

Campbell Park Reviews
Camped with the kids and grandkids in September. It was a great time, especially because it has a great spot for the kids to swim! And a good place to see plenty of frogs and snakes, not poisonous ones! Geese, Osprey, and Heron as well!
Sep 25, 2024 · Kimberly WestBeen there very nice can fish at the pond, but can also camp and fish at Big Meadows. No swimming.
Apr 07, 2025 · Judy NyeMy kiddos and I go camping here a few times a year. There is safe swimming for younger kids and deep water for big kids, fishing and hiking. Bathrooms, camp fire pits. It's extremely beautiful to wake up there. Eagle's are always flying around the area, they have nests nearby. Free camping. Pets are welcome. Grocery store is only a couple minutes away if you forget anything, like coffee. Very friendly people around there.
Jul 22, 2024 · kodiak lopezGreat little place. Water is warm for swimming; however if the fountain is out it gets dirty and stinks.
Jul 16, 2022 · Diana SmithGreat little free campground for families. Cute swim spot and life jackets are provided. The bathrooms could use a little more cleaning but its better than nothing
