Carefree Farms Campground Introduce
For local users in the Veneta, Oregon area seeking "camping near me," Carefree Farms Campground, situated at 24363 Suttle Rd, Veneta, OR 97487, USA, presents itself as a potential option, particularly for those attending the Oregon Country Fair. With contact numbers (541) 346-4363 and +1 541-346-4363 provided, it suggests a privately operated campground catering to campers in the region. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of Carefree Farms Campground based on the available customer reviews, highlighting the environment, services, features, and any indications of promotional aspects, while acknowledging the mixed nature of the feedback.
Location and Accessibility: Located on Suttle Road in Veneta, Oregon, Carefree Farms Campground shares a similar proximity to the Oregon Country Fair as other campgrounds in the area, as indicated by one reviewer noting it as a "Nice place to camp for the OCF." This suggests that its location is convenient for those attending the fair, potentially offering easy access to the event while providing a designated camping space. For local users familiar with the area, Suttle Road is likely a known access point for camping facilities serving the Oregon Country Fair and other regional events.
Services and Amenities: Based on the limited review information, we can infer some of the services offered at Carefree Farms Campground. The mention of "organized and friendly staff" suggests that there is on-site management and assistance available to campers, contributing to a structured camping experience. The presence of staff can be beneficial for check-in, addressing concerns, and providing general information. While specific amenities are not extensively detailed, the fact that it's recommended for Oregon Country Fair camping implies the provision of basic camping infrastructure such as designated camping spots and potentially communal areas.
Campsite Features and Layout: One reviewer notes that "Camping spots are pretty small if you have a large tented and canopy you need to pick the right spot to have enough room." This indicates that the size of individual campsites may vary, and campers with larger setups should inquire about or carefully select their spot to ensure adequate space. This is a crucial piece of information for local users planning to camp with larger tents or additional structures like canopies. It suggests that while the campground can accommodate various camping setups, space might be a consideration for some.
Communal Areas: The review mentions a "fire circle" and notes that it "needs some work, it is small and not very active but it was nice to see the attempt for 2018." This suggests the presence of a communal fire area, which can be a popular feature for campers seeking a social gathering spot in the evenings. However, the feedback indicates that in 2018, this particular amenity was underdeveloped or underutilized. Local users interested in communal fire areas might want to inquire about the current status and activity of this feature.
Customer Experience and Management Style: The reviews present a stark contrast in customer experiences. One reviewer strongly advises "Not recommended!" and describes the owner as an "extreme bully" with a "controlling demeanor without boundaries," recounting a personal negative interaction. This review raises significant concerns about the management style and the potential for negative interactions with the owner. The mention of a "fund me page" and subsequent regret adds another layer of complexity to this particular customer's experience. This feedback is critical for local users to consider as it directly impacts the perceived atmosphere and management of the campground.
Conversely, another reviewer describes the staff as "organized and friendly," offering a more positive perspective on the operational aspects of the campground. This suggests that while there may be issues with the owner's demeanor as perceived by one camper, other aspects of the campground, such as the staff's organization and friendliness, are seen as positive. This discrepancy in feedback highlights the importance of considering multiple perspectives when evaluating a campground.
"Camping Near Me": Services and Goods in Relation to the Oregon Country Fair: As a listing in the "camping near me" category, particularly for those attending the Oregon Country Fair, Carefree Farms Campground likely provides essential camping services. While not explicitly stated, these would typically include designated camping areas, access to restroom facilities (portable toilets are common at event-related campgrounds), and potentially water sources. Given its focus on accommodating fair attendees, the campground might also offer some level of security or on-site management to ensure a degree of order and safety. The mention of organized staff supports this possibility. Goods for sale are not mentioned in the reviews, so it's unclear if the campground offers any provisions or supplies. Campers should likely come prepared with all their necessities or inquire if any basic goods are available for purchase on-site.
Environment and Atmosphere: The environment of Carefree Farms Campground, based on its association with the Oregon Country Fair, is likely to be lively and community-oriented during the event. Campgrounds serving such events often have a more social and less secluded atmosphere compared to those in remote natural settings. The mention of a fire circle, even if underdeveloped, suggests an attempt to foster a communal atmosphere. However, the negative review regarding the owner's behavior raises concerns about the overall atmosphere and the potential for negative interactions that could detract from the camping experience. Local users should weigh the convenience of its location for the fair against the potential for negative personal interactions based on the feedback provided.
Promotional Information: The review mentioning a "fund me page" could be interpreted as a form of solicitation or community outreach by the owner, although the reviewer's experience led to a negative perception of this effort. Beyond this, there is no explicit promotional information such as discounts or special offers mentioned in the provided reviews. For local users interested in camping here, the primary draw seems to be its proximity to the Oregon Country Fair. To inquire about rates, availability, and any specific policies or rules, contacting the campground directly using the provided phone numbers ((541) 346-4363 or +1 541-346-4363) would be the best course of action. Given the mixed reviews, it would be prudent to ask detailed questions about the management and the camping experience before making a reservation.
Conclusion for Local Users: Carefree Farms Campground offers a location convenient for those attending the Oregon Country Fair and appears to have organized staff. However, potential campers should be aware of the feedback regarding campsite sizes and, more importantly, the serious negative review concerning the owner's behavior. While one reviewer found the staff friendly, the other's experience suggests a significant potential for negative interactions. Local users considering this campground as a "camping near me" option should carefully weigh the convenience of its location against the mixed reviews and consider contacting the campground directly to gather more information and make an informed decision. The stark contrast in experiences highlights the variability of individual stays and the importance of seeking current and comprehensive information before booking.

Carefree Farms Campground Reviews
Not recommended! Owner is an extreme bully and does not resonate with the love and magic the fair embraces, he embarrassed me in front of my family portraying a cruel person bully, a controlling demeanor without boundaries. He also had a fund me page calling out to his “fair family” which I contributed to, and now realize it was not from the heart and was a big mistake! Beware and be careful!

Jul 21, 2018 · Sean BMy mom (and Kate dad) have been coming to this camp for nearly my entire life. I’m 37. That’s along timeThe owner and the employees have always treated her and all the other long time regulars, and there’s ALOT more than half, with the utmost respect. They have fun. They keep it clean and and very easy to access. Highly recommend
Jul 13, 2019 · Lizz MOne star for being really close to the fair, otherwise really expensive and no amenities, not even a water spigot! Person at check-in was dismissive when I tried to tell her we were expecting two more. She didn't seem to care and just said, "As long as they know your campsite that's all they need." Then when they arrived they had a hard time getting in. They said we had to be there. We were at the fair. Somehow after some discussion they were granted admission. We were visited twice by the employees. Once late at night to tell us our friends had to leave because they were just visitors. We had to tell them that they had paid in full to camp. Then again in the morning to tell us what time to leave. We again, had to tell them that we had paid for the entire weekend. Some of the campsites were really just terrible: recently mowed down pricker bushes and lots of woody stems sticking out of the ground. Will definitely camp elsewhere next year!
Jul 12, 2016 · Heather MercierWould have given 0 stars out of 5. It was close to the fair and that is about the only good thing about it. I reserved a spot for a group of us to only show up at night and find out we have to walk around and hope to find an open spot. We arrived at nighttime and were shown a new area by one of the workers and were told that this was the only spots that were available. So we chose a spot set up and woke up the next morning only to find out the "new area" was freshly cut a week or two before and was full of poison oak plants. Needless to say the campground didn't care about it when we brought it up and of course there is no one to contact about it and you cant get a refund even a partial one. They are in it just for the money and could care less about people's safety. My girlfriend, myself and the others that camped with us spent more money buying supplies and spending money and time at the doctor's office than we did on these tickets. The fair was great but stay away from this campground there are better options.
