Cedar Island Reviews
I live in Portland and this was the best little weekend getaway! The island has everything you need to cook a delicious meal, throw up a hammock, and sip wine by (1 of 2) firepits! We were able to paddle on our SUP and kayak within 20 minutes and saw turtles, beavers, and even an eagle or two. We hiked at the preserve across the way too.We honestly could have stayed the whole week. Even though it rained a little, it was cozy and the island is pretty well-covered with trees. We were snuggled comfortably in the queen bed in the super large sleeping tent. There's pretty good phone service, but Nick provided a hotspot for us as well and I caught up on some emails on my laptop. So handy. We grabbed ice cream at John's Place on the way out and even popped into Liberty Tool (New England's largest secondhand tool store—fun to see!). I plan on making Cedar Island a regular summer tradition. : )
Jul 04, 2023 · Mads HannaGot to stay out here for a weekend and what a perfect getaway it was! Cedar Island is so quiet and peaceful with all the amenities you need. Loved sitting in the Adirondack chairs overlooking the pond and we practically had the water to ourselves for swimming both days! The tent setup is maine glamping at its finest with separate sleeping and kitchen tents and platforms. Plus there's wi-fi so you can stream some tunes or a show at night. But you'll probably find yourself by the fire cooking smores and enjoying the quiet.
