Green Valley Campground Introduce
For local residents seeking a delightful "camping near me" experience in Maine, Green Valley Campground in Vassalboro presents an attractive option, particularly for those looking to enjoy the beauty of Webber Pond. Located at 1248 Cross Hill Rd, Vassalboro, ME 04989, this campground offers a blend of scenic views and convenient amenities, making it a potential haven for both first-time and seasoned RV and tent campers alike. If you're searching for a peaceful and inviting outdoor retreat with easy access and the allure of lakeside camping, Green Valley Campground is worth exploring.
One of the standout features of Green Valley Campground, as highlighted by recent visitors, is its breathtaking views of Webber Pond. The campground's location provides campers with picturesque vistas of the lake, enhancing the overall camping experience and offering a serene backdrop for relaxation. Waking up to the sight of the tranquil pond and enjoying the sunset over the water can add a special touch to your time spent at Green Valley Campground.
For those new to RV camping, Green Valley Campground appears to offer a particularly smooth and hassle-free introduction to the lifestyle. One reviewer specifically mentioned their fantastic first-time RV camping experience, noting the incredibly easy and stress-free check-in process. The availability of the CampSpot app for checking availability and presumably making reservations adds a layer of convenience for modern campers who prefer digital solutions for planning their trips. This ease of access and check-in can be a significant draw for those who might feel intimidated by the logistics of RV camping for the first time.
The overall accessibility of the campground and the ease of getting settled are also highlighted as positive aspects. This is particularly beneficial for RV campers who appreciate straightforward navigation and setup. The friendly staff contributes to the welcoming and inviting atmosphere of Green Valley Campground, ensuring that guests feel comfortable and supported throughout their stay. This combination of a peaceful environment and helpful staff can create a truly enjoyable camping experience.
Beyond RV camping, Green Valley Campground also caters to tent campers looking to immerse themselves in Maine's outdoors. While the reviews primarily focus on the RV experience, the scenic lakeside location and the inviting atmosphere would likely appeal to those who prefer the more traditional form of camping as well. The ease of access and the beautiful surroundings make it a potentially ideal spot for setting up tents and enjoying the natural environment.
Another significant draw of Green Valley Campground, according to one reviewer, is the quality of fishing available in Webber Pond. For angling enthusiasts, the opportunity to enjoy good fishing right at the campground can be a major advantage. Whether you prefer casting from the shore or taking a boat out on the lake, the presence of good fishing adds another recreational dimension to a stay at Green Valley Campground.
However, it is important to present a balanced and objective view, and one reviewer did point out a notable downside to the campground: the cleanliness of the bathrooms and showers. This reviewer described these facilities as not clean and covered with spiders and webs, suggesting a need for more regular and thorough cleaning. This is a significant factor for many campers who value clean and well-maintained restroom facilities. Potential visitors who prioritize this aspect of their camping experience should be aware of this feedback.
Despite the concern raised about the cleanliness of the bathrooms and showers, the reviewer also noted that, other than this issue, Green Valley Campground is a nice place to camp. This suggests that the positive aspects, such as the beautiful location on Webber Pond, the easy check-in process, the friendly staff, and the good fishing, may outweigh this drawback for some campers, particularly those who are less reliant on campground facilities or who anticipate improvements in this area.
In conclusion, for local residents searching for "camping near me" in Vassalboro, Maine, Green Valley Campground offers a compelling option with its breathtaking views of Webber Pond, easy access and check-in (especially via the CampSpot app), friendly staff, and good fishing opportunities. It appears to be well-suited for both those new to RV camping and seasoned outdoor enthusiasts. However, potential visitors should be aware of the reported issues regarding the cleanliness of the bathrooms and showers. Weighing the scenic location and convenient services against this concern will help local users determine if Green Valley Campground is the right choice for their next camping adventure in Maine's outdoors.

The staff was friendly, and the entire atmosphere was peaceful and inviting.Whether you're new to RV camping or a seasoned pro, Green Valley Campground is a hidden gem that delivers a great experience. Sep 25, 2024 · Justin NelsonIt’s a decent campground. The fishing is really good the down fall to the campground is the bathrooms and showers are not clean and they are covered with spiders and webs. They really need to have someone cleaning them on a regular basis and prevent them from being covered with spiders and webs. Other than that it’s a nice place to camp if you don’t mind the dirty showers and bathrooms.
Aug 11, 2024 · Dan DustinThe owners treat their long time employees horrendously, and they are very rude to LGBTQ+ folks. I do not recommend camping here
Jan 25, 2025 · Anna Boudreau WoodsideWe stayed here two nights in our 20 foot travel trailer. Sites are close together but hookups well positioned. Definitely need leveling but easy to maneuver. Water view site was very nice S7. Firewood delivered to the site. Will stay longer next time to explore the lake. Self-contained so no comment on showers/rest rooms.
Sep 22, 2023 · Paul BWarning, if you are a large Motorhome do NOT stay at this campground. Nothing is level. They do have 50 amp service but have to pay extra for it. The entry to campground is rough and we had a problem checking in because no one was there. We didn’t check in till the next morning but had a site number and parked in the unlevel site. This campground is mostly seasonals.
