Hello all!! Welp We went as a family of 5! With our DOG also in tow! Let’s just say.. your pup better Not even make a PEEP! Our dog barked a few times! At the other dogs walking by or even barking across the way. ( as doggies do!?) i took my kidoes to play tetherball with my parents who were also visiting us that day and dinner! (2 hour drive for them and they are in their 70’s) Because who dose not like tetherball!? So While the kids were having a blast, I was approached and I was yelled at near the front office building where the playground is, by a woman I had never seen before!? When in fact at the time of (this dog barking that I was being spoken/yelled at and to about? ) it was not even our pup!? I told her as I pointed this out! and as she argued with me. I wondered who is this woman? And why was she yelling at me about our neighbor across the ways pup? I knew for a fact it was not my doodle? why she was so rude about “my dog”. Come to find out it was in fact (the owner/ owners wife ) and all I could think to myself about this situation was!? how rude.. and how she definitely should of introduced herself as such and had her facts straight!? Let’s just say we left the playground in my 500$ rental of a golf cart! And my beautiful family and I after that! stayed in our campsite for our whole long weekend stay.. (Memorial Day) with a ton of money spent and feeling depleted, uncomfortable and not welcomed.. we stayed to ourself. We will never go back again. The people we did meet, bless their little hearts. Told us to “give it another chance” not sure we ever will. BUT very sweet people we met literally the last 2 hours of our stay! My babies had a ok time but didn’t make many friends as god forbid I let them go anywhere and they get blamed for something.. so it was not the best time had there BUT the best time together at our campfire and campground together. That’s all at this point what mattered. For god to speak to these people and tell to make a campground.. they were not welcoming to us at all. I thought to myself, Maybe it was my tattoos I thought? Or maybe it was my piercings or maybe my dog barked one or two times too many!? Whatever the case may be.. it left a sour taste in my mouth and sadness in my heart. I am a social butterfly and love all people. And see the good im almost everyone I meet! So this definitely knocked the wind out of my sails, to be treated with such disrespect and especially from The owners Wife. If anyone is looking for a good camping spot that’s welcoming and fun! I suggest Yogi bear campground! Amazing. And the people and loving and caring no matter who you are or what you look like. Very upsetting to say the least, after you spend an arm and leg for you and you family to enjoy themselves after the death of a loved one. To just get away and take a breath away from real life! Good luck all and keep on keepen on. J&J - Jennifer Malloy (Jennnn)

More To Life Family Campground Introduce

For local residents exploring "camping near me" options in the Winthrop, Maine area, More To Life Family Campground, located at 48 Lady Slipper Ln, presents a destination that requires careful consideration based on recent customer feedback. Unlike the welcoming atmosphere often associated with family campgrounds, the reviews for More To Life Family Campground paint a concerning picture regarding interactions with the owners, strict pet policies, pricing, and even basic amenities. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview based solely on the provided customer reviews, highlighting potential issues that local users should be aware of before considering a stay.

Environment: Playground Area and Interactions Near the Office

One review mentions a playground area located near the front office building, which could be seen as a positive environmental feature for families with children. This suggests that there is a designated space for kids to play. However, the same review details a negative interaction that occurred in this area, where a guest was reportedly "yelled at" by a woman later identified as the owner's wife. This incident took place while the guest was supervising their children playing tetherball with visiting family members. The altercation was allegedly about a dog barking, which the guest insisted was not their pet. This raises concerns about the overall atmosphere and potential for confrontational interactions within the campground's communal spaces.

Another review mentions the campground in the context of driving through it, indicating the presence of internal roads. This reviewer was advised twice to slow down, even though they felt they were not speeding. They also recounted an incident where one of the owners blamed them for her dog running into the street, despite the dog being the one who left the premises. This suggests potential issues with owner communication and a tendency to place blame on guests.

The reviews do not provide extensive details about the natural environment of the campground itself, such as the type of terrain, presence of trees, or proximity to any natural attractions like lakes or hiking trails. The focus of the feedback is primarily on the social environment and interactions with the owners.

Services and Amenities: Price Concerns and Basic Amenity Issues

One of the recurring themes in the reviews is the perceived high cost of staying at More To Life Family Campground. One guest explicitly stated it was "pricy." This suggests that local users on a budget might find this campground less appealing compared to other options in the area. It's important to note that "pricy" is subjective, but the direct statement indicates a concern from at least one customer.

Furthermore, a significant issue was raised regarding a basic amenity: hot water in the showers. One reviewer reported experiencing "cold water in showers a couple of times" during their stay. This is a fundamental aspect of comfort for many campers, and the lack of consistent hot water is a serious drawback. This suggests potential issues with the maintenance or reliability of the campground's facilities.

The reviews do not mention other typical campground amenities such as laundry facilities, fire pits, picnic tables, or the availability of hookups for RVs. The absence of such mentions, coupled with the negative feedback on pricing and shower temperature, paints a picture of a campground where basic expectations might not be consistently met, especially considering the reported cost.

One positive aspect mentioned indirectly is the presence of a playground, which is a valuable amenity for families with young children. However, the negative interaction that occurred near this playground casts a shadow on its overall appeal.

Features and Activities: Limited Positive Mentions and Negative Experiences

The reviews provide very little information about specific features or organized activities at More To Life Family Campground. The playground is the only feature explicitly mentioned, and as noted, its positive aspect is marred by a negative social interaction.

The primary "activity" described in detail is the negative encounter with the owner's wife regarding a barking dog. This incident led the affected family to remain at their campsite for the entirety of their Memorial Day weekend stay, despite having spent a significant amount of money. This indicates a lack of enjoyment and engagement with the campground's potential features or communal activities due to a feeling of being unwelcome.

The second review focuses on negative interactions with the owners regarding driving speed within the campground and the issue with the cold showers. These experiences further highlight a potentially unwelcoming or unpleasant atmosphere that could detract from any available features or activities.

The lack of positive feedback regarding features or activities suggests that these might be either limited or overshadowed by the negative experiences reported by the reviewers. Local users looking for campgrounds with specific amenities or organized events might need to seek information from other sources or consider alternative locations.

Promotional Considerations for Local Users: Proceed with Extreme Caution

Based on the overwhelmingly negative tone and specific issues raised in the recent customer reviews, it would be difficult to offer a positive promotional introduction for More To Life Family Campground to local users seeking "camping near me." The reported rudeness of the owners, the strict and seemingly unreasonable pet policy (where a dog barking at other dogs is met with a confrontational yelling incident), the high prices, and the issue of cold showers are significant red flags.

Local families with pets, in particular, should be extremely cautious about considering this campground given the negative experience of a family whose dog barked normally. The feeling of being "uncomfortable and not welcomed" after spending a considerable amount of money for a holiday weekend is a serious indictment of the campground's hospitality.

The issue of cold showers further detracts from the value proposition, especially given the "pricy" nature of the campground. Basic comfort and hygiene are essential for a positive camping experience.

The repeated negative interactions with the owners regarding minor issues like driving speed also suggest a potentially tense and unwelcoming environment for guests. This lack of hospitality can significantly impact the overall enjoyment of a camping trip.

Given these serious concerns, local users searching for "camping near me" that emphasizes a welcoming atmosphere, reasonable pet policies, good value for money, and reliable basic amenities might be better served by exploring other campgrounds in the Winthrop, Maine, area. The one positive mention of a playground is insufficient to outweigh the significant negative feedback regarding the owners and basic services.

Call to Action for Local Users: Seek Alternatives and Verify Conditions

Local residents considering "camping near me" in Winthrop, Maine, should exercise extreme caution when considering More To Life Family Campground. The recent customer reviews highlight significant issues with owner interactions, pet policies, pricing, and basic amenities like hot showers. It is strongly recommended to seek alternative campgrounds with more positive and consistent feedback regarding hospitality and service.

If, despite these warnings, local users still wish to consider More To Life Family Campground, it is absolutely crucial to contact the owners directly using the provided phone numbers ((207) 395-4908 or +1 207-395-4908) to inquire specifically about their current pet policies, the reliability of their shower facilities, their pricing structure, and their approach to guest interactions. It would also be wise to seek more recent reviews from other platforms to get a broader perspective on the current state of the campground. Based on the available information, proceeding with a booking at More To Life Family Campground would carry a significant risk of a negative camping experience for local users.
