Cherokee / Great Smokies KOA Holiday Reviews
We spent Easter weekend here and had a fabulous time. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our cabin was nice and clean(had read they have had issues with bed bugs so went in and inspected before taking anything inside but saw no signs of them not had any issues during our stay). The amenities were plenty to keep my 6 year old entertained throughout the visit. Only things I'd like to see would be more group activities, more to do in the game room and the ability to choose campsite location from what's available at time of booking. That being said I'm already looking forward to returning as soon as the opportunity arises, it's a great place to make memories to last a lifetime!
Apr 22, 2025 · Christy CarterThis campground is great. There are fire rings at each site, and most, if not all, rv sites are paved. They have an indoor pool and hot tub that are really awesome; very clean as well. We went for spring break, so we definitely used the indoor pool. They have a nice looking outdoor pool that I'm sure is great during the summer. There is also a great play ground that the kids really enjoyed.
Apr 19, 2025 · Rob ArtzFor the first time, we reserved a cabin (as we normally travel in an RV), because we were in a pick-up truck towing our motorcycles. Firstly, the Staff and After hours staff are Exceptional! We were in a Deluxe Cabin, (#KT510), CLEAN Queen bedroom(extremely comfortable bed) and bathroom/shower, front room has pull out futon, (did not use) kitchen table, full kitchen (no oven, only two burner stove top), full size refrigerator, Keurig (bring your own if you drink more than two pods that are supplied) toaster, dishes, utensils, pots and pans, though only one small pan was great, the other Teflon ones have been destroyed by people using metal instead of the plastic spatulas they provide. Gas grill with permanent propane (no tank needed), bring foil. We were there in March, so the pool, hot tub and outside games were not in use and neither was the Cafe/restaurant. The store has snacks, supplies, beer and wine. Town/Cherokee is only 6 minutes away. The Raven Fork River was a bonus beauty to listen to and watch from our deck. This was an excellent location for us to ride to all the popular motorcycle roads like, Cherohala Skyway, Moonshiner 28, and Tail of the Dragon as well as Bryson City and Robbinsville and to shop in Cherokee. If you’d rather be in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, you will be traveling quite a bit up and over the Smokies, plan accordingly. They allow trout fishing, get your license in the store. Dog park/areas, laundry and bathhouses, though we didn’t use any of those. They did have activities, even in March. Two wall heaters (one in bathroom, one in bedroom) and an electric fireplace kept the cabin warm in the cool mornings of March. There’s also a Remote control AC in front room/kitchen. Smart/streaming TV. Great WiFi. Perfect for our Spring motorcycle adventures without the crowds.

The grounds are really pretty and the setting of this is spectacular!! Must hike up Mingo Falls!! Cherokee is a very special place to me. My family and I are going to start coming here on the regular. Plenty to keep the kiddos occupied and happy. Great indoor pool!!Thanks to the staff for all their accommodations and friendliness to my family.
Apr 15, 2025 · Gary JarvisWill always be my favorite KOA! The newly renovated pool area and splash pad are my kids favorite. We love to fish in the ponds and the creek. Always a fun, happy atmosphere when at the Cherokee KOA. We come at least twice yearly from eastern North Carolina
