Clear Lake Campground Introduce
For those seeking an exceptional and meticulously maintained camping experience in California, Clear Lake Campground, located at 7805 Cache Creek Way, Clearlake, CA 95422, USA, presents itself as a top-tier option within the "Camping Near Me" category. Easily reachable by phone at (707) 994-2236 or +1 707-994-2236, this campground, established in the 1950s, consistently exceeds expectations, offering a blend of rustic charm with modern comforts that ensures a memorable outdoor adventure.
Clear Lake Campground is beautifully situated right on Cache Creek, which serves as the only outlet of Clear Lake, California's largest natural freshwater lake. This unique location provides campers with direct access to a tranquil waterway, ideal for fishing, kayaking, and boating right from their campsite. The campground itself is noted for its picturesque setting, offering "the perfect mix of shade and sun" across its spacious and beautifully maintained sites. While the campground is nestled along Cache Creek, direct access to the main body of Clear Lake usually requires a car or boat, with popular lake fishing and recreation spots like Redbud Park, Highlands Park, and Austin Park within a ten-minute drive.
The surrounding Lake County is renowned for its stunning vistas, clean air—often touted as the cleanest in the U.S.—and a diverse natural environment. Campers can expect to enjoy a peaceful atmosphere, although occasional noise from neighboring campers and locals has been mentioned, which is typical of popular camping areas. The campground’s vintage charm is evident in its long-standing presence and the natural beauty that surrounds it, making it an ideal spot for bird watching and simply relaxing by the water.
Clear Lake Campground excels in providing a clean, organized, and welcoming environment, a fact frequently highlighted in customer reviews. One visitor enthused, "From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by how clean, organized, and welcoming everything was." The campground offers a variety of site types to accommodate different needs, including both RV and tent sites. Many RV sites come with full hookups, including electrical, water, and sewage connections, which is a significant convenience for RV enthusiasts. Sites generally range from 25-40 feet long and 18-24 feet wide, making them suitable for smaller trailers and motor coaches.
A major highlight of Clear Lake Campground is the exceptional cleanliness of its facilities. Reviews consistently praise the "spotless bathrooms and showers—a huge plus!" This commitment to cleanliness significantly enhances the camping experience. For added convenience and recreation, the campground features a small swimming pool, a welcome amenity for cooling off, especially given that the nearby creek may not always be suitable for swimming due to algae. Other amenities include a ping pong table and corn toss game, providing opportunities for family fun. Kayak and canoe rentals are available directly at the camp, offering immediate access to water activities on Cache Creek.
The staff and camp hosts at Clear Lake Campground are frequently lauded for their friendly and helpful demeanor. As one reviewer noted, "beautiful place nice people would definitely go again thank you." This level of hospitality, including accommodating specific needs (like taking a mask-uncomfortable camper outside for registration), contributes significantly to the overall positive atmosphere. Pets are welcome at the campground but must be kept on a leash at all times, never left unattended, and cleaned up after. There are specific rules regarding pets in certain areas, such as not allowing them on the lawn by the fishing deck.
Clear Lake Campground distinguishes itself with several key features that cater to a wide range of campers. Its prime location on Cache Creek offers direct fishing access and serves as a launching point for kayaks, canoes, and even small motorboats, providing a unique "Camping Near Me" waterside experience. The availability of boat launch facilities right at the camp is a significant advantage for those who enjoy water sports. The campground also features three partially-furnished canvas bell tents for those seeking a glamping experience, making camping even easier without the need to set up personal tents.
The emphasis on cleanliness and organization is a defining characteristic, setting it apart from many other campgrounds. The well-maintained sites and spotless restrooms create a comfortable and inviting environment. The provision of a swimming pool offers an alternative to lake swimming, ensuring campers have options for cooling off. Furthermore, the presence of friendly and attentive staff who are trained as tourism ambassadors means visitors can receive valuable local insights and recommendations, helping them make the most of their vacation in Lake County.

Apr 27, 2025 · James PackardLisa was super attentive and helpful from the start of our canoeing trip. She keeps a clean and cozy campground which you can rent canoes/kayaks. We had a great experience and would come back!
Aug 17, 2024 · NaomiMy wife and I stayed there before we got all the water back in clear lake. So cache Creek was extremely low. I still caught a couple of bass. The campground we stayed at was right on the water. The bathrooms are up the hill, always nice and clean. They have laundry facilities that are not very expensive, I found it always clean in there. They have a great little pool there. Also have ping pong and horseshoe pits. Overall we really enjoyed our time there. Would recommend highly.
