Ravens Landing Introduce
Welcome to Ravens Landing, a truly distinctive and enchanting campground nestled at 131 Long Branch Dr, Clearlake Oaks, CA 95423, USA. This isn't just a place to pitch a tent; it's an immersive experience that redefines what "Camping Near Me" can offer. Designed as an off-grid, forever-building artist community, Ravens Landing provides a serene escape from the everyday, making it a perfect destination for those seeking a blend of nature, art, and tranquility.
The environment at Ravens Landing is nothing short of magical, as described by those who have had the pleasure of visiting. Despite being only 15 minutes from town, it transports you to a world away from everything. The property spans 20 acres, saddled between two large mountains, offering breathtaking views from atop a valley. The landscape is rich with beautiful oak and manzanita forests, providing ample opportunities for exploration and relaxation. The stargazing here is particularly noted as breathtaking, creating an unforgettable night sky experience. Even after the devastating 2014 wildfire, the resilience and beauty of the land have been transformed, a testament to its enduring charm.
Ravens Landing is managed by Layna Joy, a polymath artist and builder, and her artistic vision is evident throughout the property. It's full of functional art, turning the very act of camping into an inspiring journey. The communal aspect is a significant feature here, fostering a sense of community among campers. This includes access to a hand-built cob kitchen and an epic dining hall deck, which overlooks the stunning landscape. These shared spaces encourage interaction and a collective appreciation for the unique surroundings.
For accommodations, Ravens Landing caters to various preferences, offering both comfortable cabins and plenty of perfect tent camping sites. While specific details on cabin amenities are not extensively detailed, visitor reviews suggest they provide a comfortable stay. For tent campers, it's important to note that the property is very sunny, so bringing a canopy for shade is recommended, along with stakes as it can be windy. As an off-grid location, guests are asked to be mindful of water usage due to drought conditions and to pack out their trash, especially alcoholic beverage empties.
The services and features at Ravens Landing extend beyond just camping. The welcoming atmosphere is enhanced by the presence of friendly animal companions. Visitors have enjoyed the company of peacocks, and the dogs, Arco and Checko, are often described as happy to meet new guests, with Arco sometimes greeting visitors in a tuxedo-like marking. The property encourages spending quality time with their animals, adding a unique charm to the experience.
For activities, hiking is a popular choice, allowing guests to explore the oak and manzanita forests and take in the fresh air. While specific trails on the property are not detailed, the surrounding Lake County area offers numerous hiking opportunities, including Anderson Marsh State Historic Park and Mt. Konocti County Park, both within a reasonable drive. The concept of "simply being" is also emphasized, highlighting the peaceful and rejuvenating nature of the space. Guests can drive off to cold running creeks, and there's mention of potential workshops and sound journeys, indicating a focus on wellness and artistic engagement. Although not directly on the property, nearby Clear Lake offers abundant opportunities for water recreation, including swimming, fishing (renowned for bass, crappie, and catfish), boating, and kayaking. Bird watching is also a popular pastime in the region, with various species frequenting the area.
In terms of promotional information and what makes Ravens Landing a standout in the "Camping Near Me" category, it’s the unique blend of an artist community, natural beauty, and a strong sense of place. It's often described as a place that doesn't quite belong to California in its distinct charm, making it a must-visit to explore the beauty that has remained and been cultivated even after challenging events. The focus on art, inspiration, and community sets it apart from typical campgrounds. Visitors repeatedly express their intention to return, highlighting the profound and positive impact the experience has had on them. The property’s commitment to being an inspiring space for creativity and connection, as well as a haven for nature lovers, makes it an attractive choice for those seeking more than just a campsite.
It's worth noting that access to Ravens Landing involves a mountain dirt road that can be a bit bumpy. While cars generally make it up, driving at a steady pace and in a low gear is recommended, and not stopping until you see the Welcome sign. Arrival times are typically between 1 PM and 8 PM, and providing an estimated time of arrival is helpful. This attention to detail ensures a smooth start to your unique camping adventure at Ravens Landing.

Ravens Landing Reviews
This place is truly magical. I’ve been back twice now. Even though only 15 minutes from town it makes you feel like you are away from everything (the stars at night are breathtaking!) It is full of functional art and run by the polymath artist and builder Layna Joy. It has both comfortable cabins and plenty of perfect tent camping sites. The hiking and simply being is perfect out here. I will return again and again I’m sure 💖✨
Feb 28, 2025 · Michael GeerOne and Only place I have been that looks like it does not belongs to California. What a beauty transformation even after the deadly 2014 Wildfire. Must visit this place to explore the beauty remained from the CA Wildfire. Thanks to the host from Airbnb. We enjoyed the company of Clay. Peacocks are amazing!! Oh wow the dogs, Arco and Checko were so happy to meet us. Will visit again for sure!!

Apr 08, 2023 · Jamison WalrathDrove up to the campground, nobody was there working but there were two dogs that lived there waiting at the entrance/welcome area - the dogs were chained up and one of them jumped all over our vehicle leaving major scratches and damage all over the driver side door.
