Cache Creek Regional Park Middle Campground Park Site Introduce
Cache Creek Regional Park Middle Campground Park Site, also known as the Yolo County Campground, offers a welcoming and well-maintained camping experience in the beautiful rural setting of Cache Creek Canyon. Located at 1475 CA-16, Rumsey, CA 95679, USA, this campground is a popular choice for families and individuals seeking a serene escape within the "Camping Near Me" category.
The environment of Cache Creek Regional Park Middle Campground is designed for comfort and enjoyment amidst nature. Visitors can expect a significant amount of shade provided by numerous trees, coupled with expansive grassy areas. This combination makes it particularly pleasant for outdoor activities, providing comfortable spaces for children to play and for pets to roam. The campground is nestled within the scenic Cache Creek Canyon, offering a picturesque backdrop for your outdoor adventures. The presence of Cache Creek itself, while a notable feature, requires attention due to potential environmental factors like algae blooms, as noted by past visitors. While direct water activities in the creek might be limited at times due to these natural occurrences, the visual and auditory presence of the creek adds to the natural ambiance.
Services and features at Cache Creek Regional Park Middle Campground are geared towards a comfortable, if not fully amenity-rich, camping experience. The campground provides 45 individual campsites, offering ample space for various camping setups. For larger groups, there are also four dedicated group campsites, although it's important to note that these were temporarily closed during the 2021 season due to operational changes and may be subject to ongoing restrictions. Restroom facilities are a key highlight, with two clean restroom buildings available, ensuring a more comfortable stay for campers. While the campground accommodates RVs, it does not offer hookups, so RV campers should come prepared for boondocking. However, the cleanliness of the grounds and bathrooms is consistently praised by visitors, indicating a high standard of maintenance.
Beyond the individual campsites and restrooms, the park site boasts large turf areas perfect for recreation, a dedicated playground for children, and numerous picnic tables scattered throughout, providing convenient spots for outdoor meals and relaxation. A day-use parking area is available, though a parking fee is required, and access to the day-use area was limited to registered campers during certain periods. Rural pedestrian access to Cache Creek is a feature, allowing campers to explore the creek banks and enjoy the natural surroundings.
Promotional information emphasizes that the camping season typically runs from April 15 to October 11, although it's always advisable to check the most current information. The campground operates with specific check-in and check-out times: check-in on Wednesdays is 2:00 PM, and Thursday through Sunday is 1:00 PM, while check-out is 11:00 AM every day from Thursday to Monday. A crucial operational detail is that the campground is closed every Monday and Tuesday for overnight camping, meaning no overnight stays are permitted on these nights. All campers must secure a reservation online prior to arrival, as walk-up reservations are not accepted. The reservation system typically requires a two-day advance booking, so spontaneous trips are not accommodated. During certain periods, particularly in response to public health guidelines, the campground has implemented a reduced capacity and restrictions on the number of persons per site, limiting individual campsites to members of the same household with a maximum of eight persons. Beach access to the creek may also be limited, with restrictions on large gatherings and requirements for social distancing. Facemasks may be required when social distancing cannot be maintained.
For those searching for "Camping Near Me" and prioritizing a clean, family-friendly environment with basic amenities and a focus on nature, Cache Creek Regional Park Middle Campground is an excellent option. Its location in the scenic Cache Creek Canyon, combined with well-maintained facilities and dedicated recreational areas, makes it a comfortable choice for both tent and RV campers who are prepared for a lack of hookups. The management's attention to cleanliness and the efforts to adapt to public health guidelines reflect a commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors. Prospective campers are strongly encouraged to visit the official Yolo County web page for the Cache Creek Campground for the most detailed and up-to-date information on availability, operational changes, and reservation policies, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable camping trip.

Cache Creek Regional Park Middle Campground Park Site Reviews
We took our RV, and although they don’t have hook ups, the grounds were kept clean. The women’s bathroom was clean. There was a lot of shade and grass which made playing with for the kids enjoyable and for my dog. The only downfall was that the creek has algae blooms so we did not get in it nor did we allow our dog to get close to it.

Feb 17, 2022 · Chip WeinbergerPlanned to stay here for Labor Day weekend and play in the creek with my kids. Well we got there yesterday at 5 pm and not we are home the next morning. The camp host did not hold anyone accountable. People smoking weed everywhere, being loud and yelling up until 2am, little kids fighting and hitting eachother, and car alarms going off all hours of the night. Just a trashy atmosphere with a bunch of people who have zero camping etiquette and no respect for others. Not family friendly at all. If you don’t like sleep this place is perfect for you!
Sep 03, 2023 · james hensonReally nicely kept campground with decent facilities. The campground is pet friendly but the beach at the campground is not pet friendly so I’ve docked 2 stars for that. Also the bathrooms were the worst I’ve ever encountered and that is no fault of the staff there. The other guests staying at the campground choose to dispose of their used sanitary products all over the floors and on the toilet paper holder instead of the bins provided.
Aug 06, 2023 · Olivia BrowneBeautiful campground with well kept lawns. Sites are generous and not tightly packed. Suitable spots for motorhomes. Firepit and large picnic table. I believe there were showers, though we had our own. Didn't see water spickets in sights, but there was a large wash station for dishes and such. May want to bring a large water jug. No internet but we didn't care. You can drive down the road if need be. Large shade trees everywhere. Beach area was very nice, though dogs not allowed. You can access water with your dog on other side of beach. Dump station if you need it. Definitely coming back. What a nice campground so close to Lake County.
