Cortland Country Music Park-Campground Introduce
Are you searching for "camping near me" in the Cortland, New York area? Consider the Cortland Country Music Park-Campground, located at 1824 NY-13, Cortland, NY 13045, USA. You can reach them by phone at (607) 753-0377 or their mobile number, +1 607-753-0377. Based on recent customer experiences, this campground offers a unique blend of camping and entertainment, though it appears to be undergoing some transitions.
Environment and Initial Impressions:
One recent review described an initial impression of disarray upon arrival, noting overgrown weeds and cluttered campsites in at least one section of the campground. Specific issues mentioned included multiple pads close together, significant overgrowth, various stairs, a mini-fridge, a small table, and a shed infested with bees, which unfortunately led to a child being stung. This suggests that some areas of the campground may currently lack consistent upkeep. However, the reviewer also noted that walking around the campground wasn't rough terrain, indicating potential for pleasant strolls once improvements are made.
Another reviewer mentioned the presence of many older, rundown campers on some sites, which might contribute to the overall aesthetic of certain areas. They also pointed out that general maintenance such as mowing, weeding, and trimming hedges and trees could significantly improve the campground's appearance.
Despite these initial observations, the first reviewer also highlighted positive aspects encountered shortly after arrival, suggesting that efforts are being made to address these issues. They mentioned that campground staff, including someone named Dan and a manager named Darren, were helpful in relocating them to a new spot and even assisted with tasks like moving extra stairs and weed-eating the pad.
Services and Amenities:
One significant service-related point mentioned in a review is the absence of sewer hookups at the campsites. For RV campers, a "honey wagon" service is available for a fee to handle waste disposal. This is an important consideration for those planning to stay in an RV.
Beyond basic camping amenities, the name "Country Music Park-Campground" hints at unique features. Reviews confirm the presence of a museum on-site, which one visitor found to be full of history, though they noted that it doesn't seem to attract many visitors currently. There is also an opry house, which one reviewer loved and could envision hosting performances. A band played on a Saturday night during one visitor's stay, although it was noted that advertising for such events could be improved.
Features and Highlights:
The most distinctive feature of this campground appears to be its integration with a country music park. The presence of a museum and an opry house sets it apart from typical campgrounds, offering potential for entertainment and cultural experiences. While the frequency and scale of music events aren't entirely clear from the provided reviews, the potential for live music and the historical aspect of the museum are unique draws.
Despite some of the maintenance concerns, the positive interactions with some of the staff, particularly the helpfulness upon arrival and the introduction from the new manager and their spouse, suggest a commitment to improving the visitor experience.
Areas for Potential Improvement:
Several areas for improvement are evident from the reviews. The upkeep of campsites, including managing weeds and general tidiness, appears to be a priority. The bee-infested shed is a safety concern that would need to be addressed. The overall aesthetic of the campground, influenced by overgrown areas and older campers, could benefit from attention. Additionally, clearer communication regarding bookings and on-site events, along with better signage, were implicitly suggested.
The lack of sewer hookups is a limitation that potential visitors with RVs should be aware of.

Cortland Country Music Park-Campground Reviews
READ FULL REVIEW We heard mixed reviews about the campground but we wanted to try it.. so I booked in October 2023.. I paid in full I didn’t get a receipt emailed so I bugged them and they said the computers were down blah blah finally I got a email confirmation.. so I called for confirmation of incoming on the Monday b4 we arrived.. the lady that answered said you have a confirmation I was like oh no.. I said yes and read it to her she said no problem I guess it changed hands on who owned it.. I was told it was the new section and all new 50 amps.. so we pulled in looking for our site first impression was ohhhhhh nooo we won’t fit and the sites are a hot mess.. three pads close together all over grown with weeds.. with all kinds of stairs a mini fridge a small table not very appealing and a shed that was opened up and was full of bees (a young boy got stung) so we got out of the truck and a few men came out not sure where from lol but they appeared.. the one guy Dan said I will call and see where they want u to go.. as he’s on the phone a man named Darren came and helped us into a new spot close to where we originally booked..and I said it looks like the Klampets are here nothing liked I was told on the phone.. he apologized and said they are under new management it’s corporate owned and they are working out the bugs in it..the lil man that got stuns was hand pulling weeds w me b4 he got stung.. and the men moved the extra stairs from our pad and helped my husband get settled in the spot.. i continued to pick up the pad and Dan came back with a weed eater and did a great job.. so with that being said the rest wasn’t at all bad we met a lot of nice people. I had my husband carefully close the door of the eye sore bee infested shed..the new manager and wife came over and introduced themselves and apologized.. then other campers introduced themselves within the few hours of us being there..walking around the campground wasn’t rough terrain and a mower.. weeding.. some trimming of hedges and trees would do wonders for the place.. some of the seasonals should take care of their spaces better especially if on water one camper had a open bag of garbage on the ground the whole time.. we visited the museum a lot of history in there kinda a shame that ppl don’t come to visit.. a lot of potential.. the opry house I loved I could see acts playing on the stage and just a great place.. they had a band Saturday nite but there wasn’t much of advertising for it.. a sign in front of the park and if anyone stumbled across the facebook page.. after the first few hours of being there I can say we enjoyed ourselves.. can’t express enough gratitude how the men in the beginning helped us out.. and the new manager and wife were nice as well..trying their best as a team to make it great again a destination for all kinds of music and events.. it’s gonna be a rough season most likely but I hope next year it will be the gem I know it can be.. I had seen in my own mind how great it could be with blood sweat and tears..and laughing along the way.. the last pic I post on here are of the pads outside our door that is fist step of cleaning the place up..
Jul 09, 2024 · Carol EmmonsDecent campground but needs updating. There are no sewer hookups so they have a honey wagon for a fee. Seems to be a lot of old campers on sites that are very rundown. The manager is great. For the money charged it's a place to stay.
Nov 23, 2024 · Don WoodPhenomenal kind and welcoming staff of a quaint laid back little campground just outside of Cortland. Clean bathrooms and well kept. The hall of Fame is a beautiful tribute to country music commercial and local.I'm so excited to go back next year !
Sep 02, 2023 · Sean HoganI height recommend this campground especially if you have an RV. This is one of the very very few RV parks in NY that is open during the winter. They provide electricity only but they ensure that you have a camp spot close to a bathroom that has showers. The office personnel are very friendly but more importantly they (especially Ester in the office) work with you and make sure that you get a great rate and help in any way.The two grounds managers (Bill & his wife) are so helpful and friendly. They go out of their way to help with whatever you need to ensure you are taken care of. They helped us find our dog who broke free and ran off, they offered to help walk our dogs, they came right out in the middle of the night to help reset the circuit breaker when it tripped. The weekly country music was really nice at an extremely great rate. All the patrons there are very welcoming.I 150% recommend this campground to anyone who is looking for a place to stop.
