Country Campground Reviews
We selected this campground just as a couple of night stay to break up what otherwise would have been a very long leg. Wow are we glad we did!It turned out to be a lovely, family friendly campground. We stayed on site #25, Pull-through FHU 50/30/20, water, sewer. Gravel pad, concrete patio with picnic table, fire ring. Almost perfectly level - no issues auto-leveling with just the levelers. Standard angled parallel with good spacing between sites. There is no road noise, but there is a train track within sight and the train, and the train horn, can be heard throughout the day and night. It was not a problem for us, just something to be aware of.Big rig friendly. Clean. Wonderful owners. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.Tip:One of the owners, Todd, escorted us to the site. He came by to chat while I was setting up. In the conversation, he asked if we knew about the Trolls. It turns out, there is a major installation of Thomas Dambo's Forest Trolls in Detroit Lakes with a total of six (five "regular" and one "special") Trolls. They are really cool, and totally worth the time to see.

WiFi and cable TV were awesome! Huge well manicured grass area with fenced in playgrounds , games , and walking path.Dogs are welcome. We watched deer walk by while we had morning coffee. Showers, laundry and game room available. We stayed a week while we searched for the trolls . Beautiful hiking and biking trails nearby. Beautiful public beach and park in Detroit Lakes with lots of restaurants and shopping opportunities. Campground owners are very kind and helpful. We highly recommend Country Campground!
Sep 27, 2024 · Deanna JohnsonI had a great experience at Country campground in lovely Detroit lakes. The campground was quiet and well maintained. The owners clearly took pride in their business. I arrived late, past their normal check-in time. The owners had no problem letting me in and showing me to my site. They really went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable. In fact they came out to our site several times to jumpstart My friend's car.The sites were large and well maintained. I believe most of them were Full hookups. The rec room was one of the best I've ever seen, with every type of table game imaginable. They even had a very large dining area where I can imagine you could host quite a party. The only bad thing I can say is that for some reason there were a lot of flies there. Both horses flies around the perimeter where you had to walk your dog and at the sites, there were lots of common house flies. I don't know if this was because we were surrounded by cornfields or whether this was a normal thing.
Aug 20, 2024 · Ian TWhat a great campground near Detroit lakes. This is generational owned and the pride shows.Extremely clean sites and restrooms. There's a laundry area for us weary travelers. There's a mini trail, dogs are allowed and a huge recreational cabin with games, books and a great screened on porch. As a horrible sleeper I frequently used this cabin so I didn't bother my neighbors.Great place. Thank you for letting me stay.Nancie NewmanQuiet and peaceful
Sep 05, 2024 · Nancie NewmanMy friend and I were in a pinch for a last-minute place to stay – the owners, Todd and Karen, were so accommodating and welcoming. The overall set up is meant for RV camping, but I was in a tent and just as comfortable. Highly recommend for anyone going through the Detroit Lakes area.
