4.0
It was great! Clean bathrooms. There are showers, and a pool that's usually open (closed covid). The river is beautiful, there's even a little waterfall! The best part is the security! It's a gated camp ground and u must have a key card. There's an actual security guard there during the day and evening. Who definitely looked like he could handle any situation needed! Very strong arms- nice tribal tattoo work too. Also very friendly, patient and helpful! (I'm being overly discriptive because I don't know his name, and there may be more than one). It was pretty packed, but seemed like a nice group of covid-concious people. We were there Sunday-Tuesday of Labor Day weekend - 12 Gage

Cowlitz Timber Trails Association Introduce

For local outdoor enthusiasts seeking "camping near me" in the scenic state of Washington, Cowlitz Timber Trails Association, located at 1988 Spencer Rd, Salkum, WA 98582, USA, presents itself as a potentially appealing option. Situated in a picturesque area, this campground offers a unique setting with natural attractions like a beautiful river and even a small waterfall. Based on available online reviews, however, it's important for prospective visitors to consider both the positive aspects highlighted by some and the serious concerns raised by others to form a comprehensive understanding of what this campground offers.

One positive review describes a seemingly pleasant experience at Cowlitz Timber Trails Association. The reviewer specifically mentions the "clean bathrooms" and the availability of showers, which are essential amenities for a comfortable camping trip. The presence of a swimming pool is also noted as a desirable feature, although this particular reviewer mentioned it was closed due to COVID-19 restrictions at the time of their visit. The natural environment appears to be a significant draw, with the beautiful river and the little waterfall adding to the scenic charm of the location. This suggests that the campground benefits from a naturally attractive setting that could enhance the camping experience for those who appreciate riverside camping and natural beauty.

A standout feature mentioned in the positive review is the emphasis on security at Cowlitz Timber Trails Association. The campground is described as gated, requiring a key card for entry, which can provide a sense of safety and controlled access for campers. Furthermore, the reviewer noted the presence of an actual security guard during the day and evening, which adds another layer of security. The description of the security guard as "friendly, patient and helpful" alongside their apparent capability to handle security situations suggests a proactive approach to ensuring the well-being of the campers. This focus on security could be a significant advantage for individuals and families seeking a safe and secure camping environment.

However, it is crucial to consider a starkly contrasting negative review that raises serious concerns about the campground. This review paints a very different picture, describing the campground as "a joke" and asserting that it costs "a ton of money" while failing to deliver on essential amenities. The reviewer claims that the water does not work most of the time and that the pool is "always closed" and very outdated. These allegations, if accurate, would significantly detract from the overall camping experience, impacting basic necessities and recreational opportunities.

The negative review further alleges issues with the management, stating that they "come on your property and do as they please." This is a serious accusation that suggests a lack of respect for campers' personal space and boundaries. Even more alarmingly, the reviewer claims that their dog was poisoned when the campground staff sprayed something right next to the river, resulting in a $500 vet bill. This is a severe accusation that raises significant concerns about the safety and environmental practices of the campground. Prospective visitors should take such claims very seriously and consider the potential risks involved.

The discrepancy between these two reviews highlights the importance of considering all available information when evaluating a campground. The positive review suggests a clean, secure environment with appealing natural features, while the negative review paints a picture of unreliable amenities, questionable management practices, and potential safety hazards. It is possible that the experiences varied based on the time of visit, specific locations within the campground, or changes in management or policies. However, the severity of the allegations in the negative review warrants careful consideration by anyone thinking of staying at Cowlitz Timber Trails Association.

Given the conflicting information, it is difficult to provide a definitive and entirely objective introduction without further context or more recent reviews. However, based on the available information, Cowlitz Timber Trails Association offers the potential for a pleasant camping experience with its natural setting along a river with a waterfall, clean bathrooms, and a focus on security through gated access and on-site security personnel. These aspects could be particularly appealing to families and individuals who prioritize safety and natural beauty when choosing a "camping near me" location.

On the other hand, the serious allegations in the negative review regarding unreliable water supply, a consistently closed and outdated pool, intrusive management behavior, and the alleged poisoning of a pet are significant red flags. These concerns should not be dismissed and warrant thorough investigation by anyone considering a stay at this campground. It would be advisable to seek more recent reviews from multiple sources to determine if these issues persist or if improvements have been made.

For local users considering Cowlitz Timber Trails Association for their camping needs, it is strongly recommended to contact the campground directly at (360) 985-2788 or +1 360-985-2788 to inquire about the current status of amenities such as the water supply and the pool. It would also be prudent to ask about their policies regarding pest control and environmental safety to address the serious concerns raised in the negative review. Additionally, inquiring about their security measures and access procedures can help potential visitors understand the level of security provided. Reading recent reviews from other platforms and sources could also provide a more balanced and up-to-date perspective on the current state of the campground. Ultimately, making an informed decision requires gathering comprehensive and current information to weigh the potential benefits against the reported drawbacks.
