The positive reviews from recent visitors highlight the park's cleanliness, friendly staff, and appealing natural setting, making it a highly recommended choice for various types of campers.
The environment of Ike Kinswa State Park Campground is consistently praised as "beautiful." The campground is nestled on a lake, providing picturesque waterfront views and opportunities for water-based activities. The presence of three camping loops, with at least one open even in the spring, suggests a well-organized and spacious layout. Two of these loops offer the convenience of water and power hookups for RVs, with one of those loops also featuring full hookups (water, power, and sewer). This caters to RV travelers seeking more comprehensive site amenities. For those who prefer tent camping, a dedicated loop offers ample room to enjoy the surrounding forest, emphasizing a sense of privacy and immersion in nature. Beyond the campsites, the park boasts several "nice dry cabins for rent," providing an alternative lodging option for those who prefer a more structured shelter while still enjoying the campground atmosphere. The entire campground is characterized by plenty of space between sites, allowing visitors to truly relax and appreciate the forested setting. The lake itself is described as "clean and calm," making it ideal for various recreational pursuits. The dogs of visiting campers also seem to enjoy the park, further highlighting its appeal for pet owners.
The services at Ike Kinswa State Park Campground are designed to enhance the comfort and convenience of visitors. For RV campers, the availability of water and power hookups in two loops, with full hookups in one of those, is a significant service. While sewer hookups are not available at individual sites, the presence of a "clean dump available" addresses the wastewater disposal needs of RVs. Tent campers benefit from spacious sites within the forest. Those opting for cabin rentals have access to a "large bathroom area with showers very close" to the cabins, compensating for the lack of private bathrooms within the cabins themselves. The campground also provides practical amenities such as boat ramps on the lake, accommodating boats of 18 feet or less in length, facilitating access for boating and fishing enthusiasts. A designated "swimming area" is open during the summer season, offering a safe and enjoyable way to cool off. The presence of a friendly and helpful ranger ensures that visitors have access to information and assistance as needed. The on-site management contributes to the cleanliness and overall positive experience of the campground. While laundry facilities are not explicitly mentioned in the reviews, the focus on clean and well-maintained facilities suggests a general commitment to visitor comfort.
The features of Ike Kinswa State Park Campground are diverse and cater to a wide range of outdoor interests. The lake is a central feature, offering opportunities for boating, fishing, and swimming. The "level easy walking trails," totaling 20 miles of exploration for one visitor over five days, are a significant draw for hikers of all abilities. The availability of both RV sites with hookups and dedicated tent camping loops provides flexibility for different types of campers. The "nice dry cabins" offer a unique lodging option that combines the comfort of a structure with the outdoor experience of camping. The well-kept playgrounds (mentioned in connection with nearby Kemp Olson Memorial Park, so this needs verification specifically for Ike Kinswa, though state parks often have play areas) would be a valuable feature for families. The friendly and helpful ranger and the on-site management contribute to a positive and secure environment. Ike Kinswa State Park Campground Reviews
Beautiful camp ground. We love to camp in the spring in our travel trailer. There was 1 of 3 loops open. 2 loops have water and power, 1 of those also has full hookups. 1 loop is tent camping spots. All spots have plenty of room to enjoy the forest. There are several nice dry cabins for rent. They do not have bathrooms but there is a large bathroom area with showers very close. The camp ground is on a lake with several trails. There is a swimming area open in the summer season. There are boat ramps on the lake. 18’ or less in length. We love to do day hikes in the forest and really enjoyed the lake trail and forest trails. The trails are level easy walking trails. We put in 20 miles of walking/hiking in 5 days. The dogs loved the park too. We will come back for sure.
Mar 28, 2025 · Kim BarryAmazing little campground near Mossyrock, WA. Clean, with at least one campsite that’s like allowing two trailers on one space. The water is clean and calm with a trail to walk throughout the campground. Ranger is friendly and helpful. There are cabins to rent also with a lot of parking for water craft toys. If you wanted them with you. Close to Morton and hiking areas. Nice day trip to Mt. St. Helen’s, too. Had no idea how sweet this location is until we arrived! No sewer at sites, but clean dump available. Highly recommend.
