Kemp Olson Memorial Park Campground RV Park Introduce
For local residents and travelers seeking "camping near me" or "RV parks near me" in the Toledo, Washington area, Kemp Olson Memorial Park Campground RV Park, located at 600 S 6th St, Toledo, WA 98591, offers a quiet and family-friendly option within a small-town park setting. Combining the features of a community park with the amenities for overnight stays, this campground provides a unique camping experience. Based on the available customer reviews, it presents a charming environment with certain appealing features, although some considerations regarding pricing and available hookups should be noted by potential visitors.
The environment of Kemp Olson Memorial Park Campground RV Park is described as a "lovely small town park." This suggests a setting that is integrated into the local community, potentially offering a more intimate and accessible experience compared to larger, more remote campgrounds. A significant environmental feature highlighted in the reviews is the presence of "lots of old twisted and knotted oak trees," which are described as "great for all ages of explorers." These mature trees likely provide ample shade and create a unique and interesting landscape within the park, enhancing the aesthetic appeal and offering opportunities for imaginative play and exploration. The campground's proximity to a creek or other natural water features is not mentioned, but the presence of mature trees often indicates a well-established green space. The park is also noted for having "well kept and lit" playgrounds, making it an attractive option for families with children. The lighting of the playgrounds suggests that the park is intended for use beyond daylight hours, adding to its usability and safety.
The services offered at Kemp Olson Memorial Park Campground RV Park appear to cater to both tent campers and RVers, although with some limitations. The presence of "bathrooms" is mentioned, indicating that restroom facilities are available for campers. However, a cautionary note states that these bathrooms "may be closed if vandalized recently," highlighting a potential issue with maintenance or security that local users should be aware of. The campground also features an "outdoor kitchen and picnic area," which is a significant amenity for meal preparation and communal gathering. This suggests a focus on providing facilities that enhance the camping experience beyond just a place to sleep. A seasonal feature is the "splash pad/fountain in the summer," making it a particularly appealing destination for families with young children during warmer months, offering a fun and refreshing way to cool off. The presence of "Park hosts living on-site" is a notable service, as on-site hosts typically provide assistance to campers, maintain the facilities, and contribute to the overall safety and order of the campground. This can be a significant benefit, offering a point of contact for questions or concerns. However, a key limitation mentioned in one review is the lack of full hookups for RVs ("For the price, they should offer full hookups or laundry but they don't have either"). Full hookups typically include water, electricity, and sewer connections at the individual RV site. The absence of laundry facilities is another point noted by a reviewer.
The features of Kemp Olson Memorial Park Campground RV Park are geared towards providing a pleasant and convenient camping experience within a community park setting. The well-maintained and lit playgrounds are a significant feature for families. The unique landscape with the old oak trees offers an interesting and shaded environment for exploration and relaxation. The outdoor kitchen and picnic area provide a communal space for meal preparation and enjoyment. The seasonal splash pad/fountain adds a recreational element, especially attractive during the summer. The on-site park hosts contribute to the safety and maintenance of the facilities, offering a valuable point of contact for campers. The quiet atmosphere of the "nice little city park" is also a notable feature, providing a peaceful retreat. However, the lack of full RV hookups and laundry facilities, especially when considered in relation to the price, might be a drawback for some RV travelers who expect these amenities. Tent campers might find the available features more aligned with their needs.
In terms of promotional information, the positive aspects highlighted in the reviews serve as implicit endorsements. The description of a "lovely small town park," the well-kept and lit playgrounds, the unique oak trees, the outdoor kitchen and picnic area, and the seasonal splash pad all contribute to the park's appeal, particularly for families. The presence of on-site park hosts who "maintain facilities well" adds a sense of security and reliability. However, the review that mentions the price being "on the high side for what they offer" and specifically points out the lack of full hookups and laundry suggests that the value proposition might be a point of consideration for potential visitors. There are no specific discounts or promotional offers mentioned in the provided text. Local users might want to contact the provided phone numbers, (360) 864-4564 or +1 360-864-4564, or check the Toledo city or parks department website for any current rates, reservations procedures, or special offers that might be available.
For local users searching for "camping near me" or "RV parks near me" in the Toledo area, Kemp Olson Memorial Park Campground RV Park offers a convenient and community-oriented option. Its location within a small town provides easy access to local amenities and a quieter atmosphere compared to campgrounds in more heavily tourist areas. The family-friendly features, such as the playgrounds and seasonal splash pad, make it an attractive choice for those traveling with children. However, RVers should be aware of the lack of full hookups and laundry facilities when considering this park, especially in relation to the price. Tent campers might find the available amenities more suitable for their needs. It is advisable to inquire about the current rates, bathroom conditions, and any specific regulations or recommendations by contacting the park directly.
In conclusion, Kemp Olson Memorial Park Campground RV Park in Toledo, WA, offers a charming and quiet camping experience within a well-maintained small-town park. Its family-friendly features, such as playgrounds and a summer splash pad, along with the unique environment of old oak trees and the convenience of an outdoor kitchen and on-site park hosts, make it an appealing option for many. Kemp Olson Memorial Park Campground RV Park Reviews
Lovely small town park. Playgrounds are well kept and lit, close to bathrooms (that may be closed if vandalized recently.) Lots of old twisted and knotted oak trees, great for all ages of explorers. There is an outdoor kitchen and picnic area and splash pad/fountain in the summer. Park hosts are living on-site and maintain facilities well. Great for families during daylight hours.
Oct 29, 2023 · Alishia HendersonPrice was on the high side for what they offer, but it's a nice little city park that is quiet. For the price, they should offer full hookups or laundry but they don't have either. The host was nice enough and we enjoyed our stay.
Sep 20, 2023 · Chris BloomfieldNice place! You can even camp here. Unexpected features for a tiny towns' city park include a small playground, coin-op water feature, stage, large shelter with a wood stove, grill, tables, benches, restrooms, horseshoes mature trees, a war memorial and more.
May 28, 2020 · Pegi SNice little park for family fun. The park offers playground equipment and a water feature for children. They are picnic tables scattered around the large old shady trees. They offer a kitchen that is reservation friendly and a large BBQ pit. The bathrooms were spotless and near to the kitchen. There are adjoining RV/tent sites. We found the park to be clean and well maintained. It had WiFi and security cameras.
Jul 05, 2024 · Kim CIt is a good small community park. Lot's of Maple Trees. The price was too high at $55.00 a night.
